MOSST DENJARASS

For me, for Samus, just about any music from the games. Honestly, Metroid's music has just the perfect feel of ambient creepiness and rising terror. For me, intro from Fusion has just the right blend of foreboding and awesomeness for the beginning of any story. I listen to it a lot.

Other awesome tracks:
Parasite Queen from Metroid Prime is an obvious classic.
Meta Ridley from Metroid Prime is another excellent one.
Dark Samus from Metroid Prime 3.
Gandrayda from Metroid Prime 3.
The Ending (Metroid metal) This tune is an exception among all the Metroid themes. The director stated it's the only tune where he'll allow it to be all-out celebratory, and it shows in how rockin' it is. This is my favourite version, though the last minute is overkill. 2:12 is the cue to headbang.

Re: What Music Helps Get You PUMPED or In-Character? - Proto Man - 09-25-2013

Honestly I can't really listen to music with lyrics when I write, because I have to fight the urge to sing along or rock out (so no Megas, unfortunately)

So, much like Greg, most of the music I listen to is from video games, both Mega Man and Super Mario RPG. Although some tracks on my Silent Hill OSTs are amazing for ambiance when writing

Ironically I've just been listening to the Minibosses, The Megas or a bunch of other hard/prog rock or heavy metal bands while writing here. Only the most epic of music allowed.

Strangely enough (because it's not really that fitting at all) Rooster by Alice In Chains. No idea why.

Because it's a good song, dur

Re: What Music Helps Get You PUMPED or In-Character? - Nyx - 09-25-2013

The song which best describes Nyx right now is Trip The Darkness by Lacuna Coil. c:

I don't usually listen to music while actually writing, but listening to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDuhSdtvhUY and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFB7gQNw8Vo usually get me in the mood to be epic.

I'm partial to all the piano-covers of the kingdom hearts music.

Here's an example:

But I listen to everything. Everything.

A lot of stuff. I'll admit to listening to the battle music from the Pokemon anime to get me pumped up. I don't know, something about it ... possibly nostalgia, or the high energy, probably both together, make it pretty inspirational.

The last few days, this has just been looping in my head. Violin + metal guitar = my avatar.

Re: What Music Helps Get You PUMPED or In-Character? - Harry Dresden - 02-10-2014

Ollabelle's rendition of "Get Back Temptation". It really helps me get into character for Harry. It might as well be his theme music.

Listening to what Bomb Man's stage music actually sounds like just makes the Megas rendition so much more chillingly awesome.

Fucking love Tiz's special move theme from Bravely Default also. When you hear it, you know some poor mook is gonna get jacked up. Ringabel's and Edea's are pretty pumping-up too, though nowhere near as epic as the Tiz.

I also found this version where a fat Japanese woman sings it where crawling around on stage, so that's cool.

Figured I might as well share the song I usually play during my League of Legends games. Corset's Theme from Panty and Stocking.

Re: What Music Helps Get You PUMPED or In-Character? - Omni - 02-16-2014

That is a sick tune. That show had a really great soundtrack.
