Player Controlled NPCs and God Moding - DioBrando - 02-24-2015 Now I wouldn't bring this up if there weren't some.. strangely unsavory things going on down in The Masquerade, but what's the rule regarding using another player's NPCs during a conflict? As far as I'm aware traditional RP is "States Action" followed by "Response to Action + Own Action", and you can't just simply say "He stomps on X's head, causing the light from their eyes to go out", or to use a more recent example "Releases their bladder all over them in frustration.". Re: Player Controlled NPCs and God Moding - Omni - 02-24-2015 Please note that this topic is locked due to an ongoing investigation into this particular conflict. When staff members have reached a resolution we will make a new topic or reopen this one. For the record of anyone reading this: the answer is that this behaviour is not okay. It is specifically prohibited in the rules of conduct in this section: "Be careful when roleplaying with other people's characters or NPCs ..." And again in the NPCs section of the role-playing process: "Remember that NPCs are owned either by the site, by their creator - you need their permission to use their NPCs, just like writing with their character." Re: Player Controlled NPCs and God Moding - Omni - 02-25-2015 Inlumia has been banned pending an explanation of his reasons and of whether or not he intends to change this behaviour in the future. This is after being warned on multiple occasions not to do this exact thing. Those members of the "between the velvet lies" storyline may choose to either disregard Inlumia's most recent post, continue with an edited version, or accept it and move on. I will defer to Dio primarily as his were the affected NPCs. This topic is now open to replies only from participants of that topic, in order to resolve this issue. |
