He has the ability to spit bubbles at enemies, which would function in the same way to the fairy bow, it'd just deal damage slightly differently. Or the Spin attack. The Deku can use a spin attack that is exactly the same as Link current first stage spin attack, he just does it without the sword. 

Any help would be appreciated. It's a bit of a big ask, I know. But dropping 6k for something that's not going to provide any bonus or any changes for the sake of a story is gonna be sucky xD
