Bootcamp - Jack Darby - 06-03-2018 Earlier he had stopped near Dalaran to discuss things with Arcee, but Jack had started riding Arcee in her motorcycle form deeper into Camelot. The reason for this was that he wanted to make sure he didn't damage any property that belonged to people who could perhaps attack him, and run the risk of doing dangerous things to him. There was also the matter that Jack knew that he was not ready yet to handle the power of the Oan Power Ring. In the long run he was going to need a better weapon, a weapon he at present did not possess. The Green Lantern Corps was not around, so it was not like he'd be chosen for a better power ring any time soon - and so he'd have to make one for himself. A new weapon that could allow him to surpass his limitations. The Apex Armor worn by Miko had been invulnerable, and greatly enhanced her speed, strength, agility, and fighting ability. The armor did not exist in the Omniverse but was worth looking into, in the opinion of Jack. Of course not right now, when he needed all of his efforts focused on the singular task of mastering the Oan Power Ring. While the Oan Power Ring, and Bow of Primus Replica were both formidable weapons, Jack had never really trained in how to use the weapons properly. This was why he had came to the ruins of a castle that had once looked lived in. While it did not particularly scream like a good place to build a base for the Green Lantern Corps that he planned on putting together, it would be a good start. It could be one of the HQs of the Green Lanterns in the Omniverse. Having them spread across multiple verses was actually a good idea, an idea he could do once he had an actual power ring to replace the Oan One he had on his finger now. Of course how he was going to make a power ring was a mystery he did not have an answer to. It was not like there was an instruction manual for such after all. Since he did not have an instruction manual on how to use the Power Ring, or how to create things out of Omnilium, any sort of training was going to have to wait for the time being. Jack sighed, lamenting his situation as he stopped training with the Oan Ring. It was slid off of his finger, and then into his pocket. Eventually he would have the real deal back on his finger. RE: Bootcamp - Jack Darby - 06-03-2018 "Why can't I get this right?" asked Jack as he continued trying to make the ring's flight function activate. Apparently the ring did not possess the capacity to fly like his Green Lantern Ring had. It was yet another strike against the craftsmanship of this power ring, and that meant Jack needed his old one functioning once more. If there was a way to do it, Jack planned on upgrading the Oan Power Ring into one that met his standards. Namely, being a lot more stable than the power ring he now had. Jack did not know why he was unable to create a simple giant fist and send it rocketing towards a dummy. He did not know why the ring lacked all the capabilities he would find remotely useful, or was so limited. If this was the work of Omni, Jack was not amused. If it was someone's idea of a joke, he found it even less amusing. In fact the look on his face was such that a more physically un-amused look was not possible for anyone in existence. Jack hoped Omni had not dragged Rafael or Miko into this mess. It was bad enough he was unable to ever return home, but he would not have his friends put in danger. RE: Bootcamp - Jack Darby - 06-04-2018 Jack Darby knew that the Omniverse needed the Green Lanterns. Given the reports he had received from some of the locals about the crime rate in Camelot alone, perhaps putting the Green Lanterns into existence in the Omniverse was the wisest course. After all, he needed to be sure he was prepared to deal with the problems of the Omniverse. The chances of some of the Primes being less than ethical individuals was very much higher than Jack personally liked. Given that he struggled to learn how to use the power ring he now had, a new one was required. With how unstable his constructs were he knew that the ring was an unreliable weapon, and couldn't be depended on. As of yet he had not tested the Bow of Primus Replica, but it seemed to be fully functional. Yet if he were to survive he was going to need to get new equipment for himself. The Star Saber might make a good piece of equipment for himself. It was a legendary blade that had been created by Solus Prime. The sword was one of the most powerful blades in existence, and could cut through a lot of things. Unfortunately the sword was too massive for Jack to wield personally, so perhaps he could get a different blade for himself. But if Omnilium could create anything the person wanted he might not need a different blade. Ultimately he was going to need his arsenal expanded for himself. There were many different options of what he could make. As he considered that, Jack continued riding Arcee towards another location. RE: Bootcamp - Jack Darby - 06-05-2018 As they made their way to an area of Camelot that he had not been in, Jack sighed. If he was to be honest with himself he had not been in most of the place. Yet compared to the home he had once had, Jasper Nevada, before the cons had blown the place up with Dark Mount, this was a lush place of beauty. The greenery, and clean air of the place was certainly appealing. Ideally no one would come along and ruin the place with more structures. Sadly enough he was going to have to do exactly that. Given he did not fancy sleeping under the stars because of potential decepticon activity in the Omniverse, Jack knew he had a lot to do. Building a house was likely some immensely complicated procedure. Choosing out the materials alone for the house was going to take hours, perhaps even days for Jack. Of course he had never built real estate before. Obviously he wanted to save the Omnilium, so he was not going to waste it on something such as building a house. No, if he was going to build a place it was going to be by hand. Building a place by hand would be emotionally satisfying. Plus, it would give him something to do other than wander aimlessly around, trying to make heads or tails of this place. So far Jack's best efforts in that regard had been less than successful. Okay such a statement was an understatement of the century. RE: Bootcamp - Grapefruit - 06-06-2018 Grapefruit had spent all night walking in a straight line through fields and forests. It is now daytime. As far as he knows, nobody is following him, but he has no idea what to do now. He's mad about that whole situation. Not only was he harassed endlessly, he just took all of it without defending his honor. He thinks back to his life before the Omniverse, when he could fight whole battleships by himself without a scratch. It's a feat hard to accomplish now, but that's no excuse for a soldier like him to become some cowardly doormat. All he wants is to battle and win against the next idiots that confront him, yet deep down he's reluctant to act that way. If he continues causing trouble, how can he explain himself to Valerie? These muddled, irritated thoughts leave Grapefruit unable to think of anything else he can do, so he just walks forward with no destination in mind. He does not even think about reattaching his severed arm, or addressing the low fuel warnings from his fuel sensor. After pushing a tree branch out of his way, Grapefruit hears the sound of a running engine and stops in place. The sound is coming from the left. He looks that way, and sees a young black-haired man driving a motorcycle towards Grapefruit's general direction. The motorcycle rider also notices him. RE: Bootcamp - Jack Darby - 06-06-2018 "Hello," said Jack, stopping Arcee for a moment. Getting off of her, he was unsure who the individual was. However, he was in hi way and Jack was headed towards further into Camelot. Given he didn't know much about the place, he supposed he could use the aid of someone who did know his way around. Ultimately having someone who knew this place better than he did, would be good. Perhaps they could even help Jack get his Cell Phone working, so he could call Optimus Prime, or Ratchet, or someone. Either way, Jack knew he had a lot of things he needed to learn about the Omniverse. "Are you new to the Omniverse like I am?" His lack of any real direction in the Omniverse was beginning to grate on his nerves. Of course many things about the Omniverse grated on his nerves including his lack of a real plan as to how to put the Green Lantern Corps together. Jack was clueless as to how he would do so, and how they would learn how to use rings, and how he would make the rings. Really there was a lot he did not know about the place. Some of the things could be ignored, but others were likely to be fatal if he didn't increase what he knew in the place. RE: Bootcamp - Grapefruit - 06-07-2018 "Yes, I'm new. Are you a Prime too?" Grapefruit says, showing a foul disposition in his voice. Jack nods his head and says, "Yes." Oh, if Grapefruit's face could express his emotions, his eyes would light up. Finally, someone who doesn't assume the worst of him. He starts approaching Jack. As he gets closer, Jack can see the damages that cover Grapefruit's cracked left side. Part of his left arm had been torn off, with wires hanging out of the 'stump' (for lack of a better word). The severed limb is safely in Grapefruit's other hand. "The name's Grapefruit. What's yours?" RE: Bootcamp - Jack Darby - 06-08-2018 "Jack Darby," said Jack, as he examined the Prime. Likely some sort of fight had happened that had caused some damage to the Prime. It had cut off his hand - and badly damaged it. Was the prime part robot, or something like that? Jack did not know the answer to that, yet. The Omniverse was a truly mysterious place. Someone ought to make a survival guide to it. There could be something Jack could do with his time, create a survival guide to the Omniverse. "You know Primes should be able to heal themselves or regenerate lost limbs, right?" asked Jack, pointedly looking at the stump for emphasis. RE: Bootcamp - Grapefruit - 06-10-2018 Grapefruit turns his head suddenly. "We can? How?" He asks in surprise. Before Jack can answer, Grapefruit gets an idea. "By using Omnilium?" He asks. His mouth does not move when he speaks; in fact, his face keeps the same intense expression no matter what emotion he's actually feeling. Jack nods his head and says, "Yes." "Interesting. I know anything we want can be formed from it, but I never thought it could be used for body restoration." He looks at his severed arm and his stump, wondering how much Omnilium it would take to repair the damage. He starts to talk about the Omnilium he has, but pauses. That doesn't seem like the wisest decision, talking about the valuables on (or in this case, in) your person to someone who hasn't gained your trust. But if this Jack Darby does try mugging him, so be it. "Looks like I've got enough Omnilium for this, but it'll take all day to fix. I'd rather have a mechanic take care of it... but I'm sure not finding one out here." He gestures towards Arcee. "Your motorcycle is the only advanced tech I've seen so far in this place." RE: Bootcamp - Jack Darby - 06-10-2018 "Trust me, Arcee is more advanced than you could possibly comprehend." said Jack Darby as he looked Grape Fruit over. On the one hand he did not know how to work Omnilium, and so probably couldn't heal him. Yet on the other, part of him wanted to help. However as he did not want to make things worse, Jack didn't want to try to heal him. After all he didn't understand much about the element known as Omnilium yet, nor how to make the substance work. In addition he still had no direction in the Omniverse, no plan on what he was going to do with himself. "I'm sorry. I wish I could help you repair your hand, but I don't know how." In truth, Jack wished he could help the individual. Yet with his limited understanding, he would do more harm than good. It was simple fact that he did not know enough about the place to benefit anyone yet. In addition he did not have control over his abilities as a Prime yet. It was not like there was a school he could go to in order to learn how to do this. Once he had his feet under him, so to speak, the idea appealed to Jack. Opening a school to teach the Primes about the Omniverse might not be such a bad idea. Such a place would also allow Jack to select the suitable candidates to become members of the Green Lantern Corps once he had a solid enough location for the Lanterns in the Omniverse. Ideally, he'd also have a fully functional ring as this lacked a lot of the capabilities that a proper power ring was supposed to have. Like for example, it could not allow him to fly in the slightest yet. Something that honestly bothered Jack, because if he had to deal with Starscream, or someone like him in the near future, Jack would be at a critical disadvantage. "I must be going, as I've got a lot of training to do in order to learn how to use my abilities as a Prime. What I said was a guess, because Omni said Omnilium could make anything as long as you desired it enough." With that, Jack started driving off on Arcee back towards the Gate to the Nexus. For he had plans now. Sure it was not a concrete idea, but at least he knew what direction to take himself in. Quote:- Exit Thread - |
