Chaos, Challenges, and Level Ups - Jack Darby - 05-02-2018 Unicron was not amused about the current situation. Sure, Rafael was growing, but he was not growing quickly enough for his tastes. As they came across the world of Camelot once more, Unicron looked at the sky. Noticing the sky of the place had a floating island, Unicron wished he possessed the ability of flight so that he could go up there and gather books for himself. Sure he seemed to possess some sort of flying ability inside of this place but he was not going to rely on an ability that he thought was temporary at best. Not only could it run the risk of harming his host, but there were many other problems that the use of such a power could cause. After what seemed like hours of walking they finally arrived at the place where Unicron had built their home for them, the former ruins of a once wrecked castle that he had repaired. Sure the place needed a lot of work before it could be considered habitable by Unicron, but that was the beauty of the place. Endless potential for development was possessed by it much like the endless potential that was possessed by Rafael himself. So boy. You believe that everyone has a chance at redemption no matter who they are? The question was one that Rafael had to pause and consider as they arrived at the place they called home. On the one hand Mech had tortured Bumblebee but they were one of the most technologically advanced groups out there. Had they decided to help the Autobots instead of hindering them, the Autobot - Decepticon War could have been solved before Rafael had ended up here in the Omniverse. Honestly he didn't have a clue as to what the right answer in this situation was. I don't know, Unicron. RE: Chaos, Challenges, and Level Ups - Jack Darby - 05-02-2018 Unicron was confused. At first the boy seemed to know a lot but when it came to matters of morality he was clueless? Unicron finally manifested and actually spoke to Rafael. "You know boy, something irks me about you. Even with all your technological expertise, you never once did something about the bullies that harassed you back home. Take Vincent for example. You could have reprogrammed his car to drive off of a bridge. You could have hacked a space laser, and blasted him. You could have done a lot of things to him, and chose not to. It shows you have some things in common with my brother, Primus. Yet at the same time, you have a great potential for Chaos inside your body. After all, without said potential you would be unable to handle even the barest sample of the power you are borrowing from me." The Chaos Bringer paused, letting that sink in. Rafael thought about it, and his eyes widened. Realization suddenly donned on him. If he could harness the power of the Chaos Bringer even a small sample he could learn how to handle more of the power of the Chaos Bringer. Eventually he could get strong enough to protect the Autobots and put Megatron in his place. "So here is what I will offer boy. I will teach you how to develop your skills far beyond what training you had from the rudimentary education system you call school. In return for this aid, you will work for me. Part one of your assignment will be rather simple," At that Unicron manifested the Power Gauntlet V1. "You will prepare yourself for your coming battles." The offer of the Chaos Bringer was kindness itself. Really though he had no choice in the matter. Accepting the offer of the Chaos Bringer was at present the best - and only option that Rafael could see. All the other options resulted in him somehow dying. Sure he would respawn like a video game character if Omni was right, but he didn't want to take that chance. His mind was made up as Rafael extended out a hand, and took the gauntlet. Feeling the weight of the gauntlet in his hand, Rafael realized what the design was like. It looked like an Iron Man Gauntlet, but at the same time did not. While it did draw designs from the costume of said comic book hero, the actual gauntlet itself did not run off of an Arc Reactor. The Gauntlet also seemed to lack the capability to shoot out beams of energy from it, for some odd reason. Upon further examination, Rafael realized that the gauntlet was a new weapon for him. "I will accept your offer Unicron. Mold me into the perfect weapon, and teach me how to take down my opponents." RE: Chaos, Challenges, and Level Ups - Jack Darby - 05-02-2018 "You're going to need more than the pitiful gadgets that you have made so far. Summon them all, and we will see what we have to work with," commanded the Chaos Bringer. As he did not want to make the Chaos Bringer decide to take back the agreement to educate him, Rafael did as he had been bidden. Every weapon he could manifest was made and laid down. Unicron took his time, examining them. The Vorpal Saber was a good weapon for melee combat, and the Tablet was a good item for ranged combat as were the Mech Energy Pistols. The Power Gauntlet V1 he had manifested was a decent tool when it came to punching someone but lacked the ranged capability it would eventually need. This left a major gap in the arsenal of Rafael, should it come to defense based moves. In addition the child lacked anything with any real stopping power behind it. Perhaps a rocket launcher might be a good welcome addition to the equipment of the boy given the dangerous nature of the Omniverse. On the other hand powered armor might be the hot ticket. Really there were a lot of methods capable of being used to provide the equipment that the two of them were going to need. "Now, let's see here," thought Unicron out loud as he considered the possibilities. Speed was the key here. Something lightweight, but extremely useful. Having watched Rafael flip around and perform acrobatic maneuvers earlier, Unicron had an idea. Perhaps what he needed was not a rocket launcher, but something with a bit less oomph, though a bit more speed in terms of actual deployment capabilities. Something that could be wielded regardless if someone jammed all manner of technology and made it hard for technology to function. It would also be a good tool for cooking because facing facts, Rafael was going to have to learn to do so at some point - best if he learned how to do so immediately. "Ah. These will do nicely," smirked Unicron as he held out his hand. Omnilium began to reconfigure for the first time ever into something that Unicron wanted. The piece of equipment he was making resembled a throwing knife. However it could be used for more than just the purpose that it looked like for. It could be used for climbing purposes, and also to chop food. They could also be thrown. Rafael took over, and then looked at the 5 knives that were near him. Targets had been set up by Unicron that were simple circular targets. One of the knives was picked up, and thrown but he missed the target entirely. Frowning, Rafael picked up another, and hurled it. Like the first this one went wide of the target - way wide, but did not hit anyone. Still his am was too far off. "I've got a long way to go," sighed Rafael. RE: Chaos, Challenges, and Level Ups - Jack Darby - 05-02-2018 "Yes, you do," said Unicron as he took control for a moment. Looking around the environment of the castle, Unicron applied some Omnilium to create floating makeshift targets for Rafael to practice on. The only way the boy was going to get strong enough was with an actual opponent, being forced to fight for his life. Sure this training helped him to develop new creative ways of using the powers. Application of those creative ways, and experience was something the boy needed and Unicron needed. If they ever were to meet any of their long term goals they were going to need to get a lot stronger than they were. What Rafael needed was an actual challenge, and so Unicron thought about it. While Rafael had been asleep he had accessed the Dataverse. There had been something called "Dante's Abyss" that seemed like an interesting competition to make the boy participate in, without his help. Given Primes could respawn, and be up to full strength within 14 days of any losses that they had, and they were likely to recover swiftly this helped cement the decision of the Chaos Bringer. "Boy, there is a more effective teacher that you will meet, provided you do something." Rafael was curious, and Unicron could see that. "Participate in Dante's Abyss. Do your best to win the Tournament, and then the experience, and extra Omnilium you gain will help you get to the point where you can surpass your limitations. It is a shame you can't do that move you wanted to do with my Chaos Energy, yet. But we'll have to figure out a way to make that powerful attack work before the tournament." RE: Chaos, Challenges, and Level Ups - Jack Darby - 05-02-2018 A tournament geared around beating each other was not something Rafael had ever thought he would even consider participating in. On the one hand if he were capable of doing, and surviving, he could get more powerful than he had ever been. This alone tempted Rafael to participate in the tournament. Perhaps it could break him of the shy nerd that he was and make him more willing to battle it out with his opponents. Of course it was going to be difficult motivating himself to participate in the tournament to the best of his ability, Rafael knew that much. Yet, if he did win the tournament there was a lot of Omnilium he could gain. It was the real prize he would be after in the tournament, decided Rafael. "So since we've decided I'm going to participate, what is the first step?" asked Rafael, to Unicron. "You're not going to like it, but we're going to have to go back to Coruscant in order to sign you up properly for the Tournament. You've got a long road ahead of you, my boy. But by the end of it, you will be ready to face down even Megatron himself and he will wet himself guaranteed when he witnesses your power." Unicron was confident that the tournament was just what the doctor ordered in the case of Rafael. Sure the boy may be shy, and unwilling to harm others, but Unicron could put forth the work. All Rafael had to do was provide the physical component, and let Unicron do the steering and maybe they could win. Unicron took over and they started their way back to Coruscant. |
