Back to Blank - Yukika Inoue - 01-08-2018

Upon entering the unending void of colorless hue, the huntress had to shield her eyes from the contrast to the Moors. She rubbed her eyes to adjust them to the brightness of the Nexus. The sickness she felt from her first visit here returned nigh instantly. The unended white background was unsettling, like a void of escapable limbo. People could be seen maneuvering in the distance in multiple directions. Pyrrha had no idea where to go from here. She still had no actual direction, and it made it hard to find the correct path for her to walk. There was always the simple idea of turning around and helping Evangeline, but she would rather get away from the cultists who attacked her. Their intentions were beyond the Huntress and that scared her, even more, to think about.

Pyrrha shook that off her mind. It was too much to think about right now and she had more urgent matters to attend to: Her amnesia. Finally deciding that her pointless pondering was getting her as far as someone could toss a boulder, she just began to start walking. At this point, going anywhere but the Nexus would be an improvement.

It took time to walk to the next gate. Why did she pick one so far away from the Moors? After what felt like hours of walking, she reached the gate, passing many odd people with different appearances on the way. This new world was confusing and was completely different from what she remembered of Remnant.

Upon arriving at the gate, there was a decent cluster of people waiting to get in. Pyrrha’s brow furrowed at this. The last gate she went through, barely anyone was around it. Now this gate had an entire crowd lined up to get in. She came to realize that people were being checked for weapons and other illicit goods that they might be carrying in to the universe behind the portal. The waiting was worse than the walking. It seems there was an interference in the system caused by someone entering who wasn’t even allowed in, recently. Security seemed extremely tight.

When it was finally her turn, she was instantly stopped. The stormtrooper manning the gate held up his hand and grabbed his gun. Pyrrha’s hands tensed as if she was ready to attack if need be.

“Whoa, whoa.” He halted her and pulled her off to the side, allowing the line to continue. “I can see by your stature alone that you’re a prime. We just had two primes go through the gate and I’m pretty suspicious of any one of you Omni-freaks going through this portal right now.”

“I bode no ill desires, sir.” She responds, folding her arms around her chest. “Please allow me through.”

“Hmm, you don’t seem to be working with Aragorn or the underworld, so that’s something, and there are soldier within that would tear you to shreds if you even thought of disturbing the peace.” He ponders aloud. “Alright, stay within the law and we’ll have no problem. Don’t make me regret letting you in.”

“Of course, sir.” She says walking past him, after she was checked for anything illegal. Her figure disappeared behind the pearlescent glow of mixed colors.
