Evil Lies You Told Your Siblings/Were Told - Omni - 12-02-2017

Separate from the Santa thread.

When I was in primary school, my brother and his friends told me that there was a vampire, a specific vampire, who was after me and that when I got home, I had to board up the house and furniture and stay awake the whole night, NO MATTER WHAT. I spent the whole day fretting about this, and the moment I got in the house, I told my mum to start boarding up the windows. My brother started laughing and the lie unravelled pretty fast, though I watched my windows that night.

We also told my younger stepbrother (when I was older) that aliens were real and that they wanted to abduct him. When he really started freaking out, my other two, older stepbrothers laughed and said "Don't worry, there aren't any aliens out there."

"..."

"BECAUSE WE'RE ALL ALIENS!"

Cue screaming.

What terrible things did your older siblings tell you, or vice versa?

My twin sister said she thought I was a werewolf, probably because she could see my hair slowly frizz up at night as it dried from my bath. I was actually totally worried I was a werewolf for a while there... my dad would totally shoot a werewolf for fun if those were a thing. Was not a fun thought.

As a young child, my father told me that "el-ee-tee-es-jee-oh" was Spanish for "Let's go." He is the God-Emperor of Dad Jokes and Associated Wordplay, and as such he repeated this often over a period of several months.

I believed him, and didn't put together that he was just spelling the damn word until I was TEN.

My older sister used to tell me stories about vampires, and for a while I was deathly afraid of them. I still sleep with my blankets covering my neck as a result, like that'll even do anything to stop a blood-sucking undead creature.

I told my brothers that ham was pig butt and they stopped eating it for years.

I was terrified of the woods behind our house for forever because my older sister made up this super elaborate fiction, one that had pale goblins, fairies, ghosts, etc.... It was wild.

We were dog-sitting a family friend's dog for a while, a fairly small breed that even an 11-12-year-old could pick up easily. Except that said dog didn't really like getting picked up, so my one sister told my other (young at the time) sister that if we pick the dog up too often she'll die.
One day my sister was walking this dog and it started to chase after a cat, dragging my sister along by the leash until they were pretty damn lost. Luckily the police found them and brought her to a nearby station for our mother to pick up. My sister told them to please not pick up the dog because she might die. The police was pretty confused.
