Taking after your character in real life - Shantotto - 03-14-2018 Does anybody end up finding themselves talking, acting, or presenting themselves in a manner similar to one of their characters? I know this happens for me mainly at work I find myself speaking to my co-workers in rhyme. RE: Taking after your character in real life - Pennywise - 03-14-2018 Absolutely not. Okay, maybe a little. RE: Taking after your character in real life - Gilgamesh - 03-14-2018 I try and distance myself from Gil as much as possible RE: Taking after your character in real life - Strazio Rockwell - 03-14-2018 I've kinda had the reverse experience with Strazio. I used to have a really nasty temper and I was a generally irritable person. For a while writing as him was actually kind of an outlet for a lot of the pent up aggression and other nastiness I had. Nowadays I'm a much more reserved and stoic person who has his emotions under control. RE: Taking after your character in real life - Dane Regan - 03-14-2018 Sometimes I sprout one-liners my characters would say, but usually it's more comical rather than me being legit. I don't think they're really influenced me much - but then again, I ain't great at noticing how I've changed until I look back at year old videos of me and shiz. RE: Taking after your character in real life - Victor Wolfe - 03-14-2018 Victor was created as a way for me to vent a lot of my more negative feelings and traits, if I get to into the characters head I tend to hold grudges for IC things OC so I try to keep the minds separate RE: Taking after your character in real life - Skeletor - 03-15-2018 I just MIGHT have a tendency to make little things artificially dramatic as an attempt at humor. I don't know who I got that from... RE: Taking after your character in real life - Omni - 03-15-2018 A character I used to play, Super Buu, was designed to be the complete opposite of me. Completely unselfconscious, completely amoral, a rude, thrillseeking berk who acted entirely on impulse. He changed over time, became a bit more like me (I have a habit of being unable to keep my bad guys bad - which is why I set out with Enel to make a bad guy who didn't become sympathetic) and I also started seeing that not every part of him was bad. I was 17 at the time, very shy, very thoughtful and introverted. I've definitely taken on more of Buu's traits, become cockier and cheekier and less self-conscious, as I recognised the positive sides of some of those traits by exploring Buu's persona - that some of those things can be enjoyable, not just selfish. The fact that people tended to conflate how I wrote as Super Buu with how I was, I guess, helped. I was totally different from Buu, but it became easy to slip into his mode of speech in chat, so ... in some ways unconsciously I trained myself to be more confident with him in mind. RE: Taking after your character in real life - Touko Fukawa - 03-15-2018 Yuuka? I dunno, I like... garden sometimes? Fukawa on the other hand I play essentially ENTIRELY for slamming my face on the keyboard and releasing my own emotions. Because I mean... Depressed late teen-early 20's author with no friends. If that isn't a mood I don't know what is. ...I don't kill people in real life, though. RE: Taking after your character in real life - Miranda Frost - 03-15-2018 There are certain aspects of myself in Miranda and certainly Serraph, but I try to keep them as different as possible. I do rage similarly to Miranda and my fascination with a broad range of subjects is similar to Serraph's. However this is where the similarities between myself and my creations end. |
