Heartless Attack Volunteers - Jack Darby - 07-06-2017 In an attempt to expand my writing capabilities, and to provide challenges to other players I will be looking for volunteers who wouldn't mind Heartless being dropped into their threads by me, and attacking them out of the blue. Would anyone wish to participate in such? RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Broly - 07-06-2017 I just arrived in the Nexus. I'll give it a whirl. RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - MADBULL34 - 07-06-2017 I'm not familiar with the Kingdom Heart games. What are they like, what do they do? Are they waves of weak peons like Lord Zedd's puddy patrol, or are they a big singular enemy that puts up a big fight? What are the aims of the Heartless? What sort of activities do they like to disrupt? RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Jack Darby - 07-06-2017 To answer your questions: 1. Heartless come in two forms. Shadows, which are the weakest of the Heartless and can be felled in one to two hits but will regenerate given time, and are ones that have not absorbed Hearts. There are also Emblem Heartless, which I will describe in more detail later if you want to know more, which are stronger than Shadows. 2. There are ones that come in waves, but also larger enemies. 3. They have no aim, save to eat the hearts of individuals and create more of themselves. 4. They will attack any and all activities they can. RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Oleander - 07-06-2017 Be mindful... powerful beings with darkness in their hearts can summon and control Heartless. This has been shown in a number of games (Pete is practically infamous for using this tactic.) RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Harlan Higgs - 07-06-2017 Harlan could DEFINITELY control some Heartless. No doubt. RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Jack Darby - 07-06-2017 Question is, do you want him to encounter some and be attacked by them? RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Omni - 07-06-2017 They EAT people's HEARTS?! That's sick, dude. I didn't know Disney was so ... hardcore. RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Little Ghost - 07-06-2017 What would they do to people that have no hearts, metaphysical or otherwise? RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Jack Darby - 07-06-2017 They absorb the hearts, and the person's body is turned into a Nobody while the Heart is corrupted into another Heartless. They don't literally eat it, but they consume it and shroud it in darkness, making another Heartless, and by extension creating a Nobody. Nobodies can't feel emotion. As to Little's Question, probably attack them en-masse anyway if they can feel emotions. RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - ElFailzalot - 07-06-2017 For some clarification and additional information here: Shadows are just one variety of Pure Heartless, AKA Heartless born naturally from darkness that seek and consume hearts. There are bigger, badder versions of the, usually created when a sufficiently powerful heart is taken. As said before, Pure Heartless are born right out of the darkness, and can just sort of crop up now and then. Emblem Heartless are artificial creatures, born from the experiments of Ansem. They're more numerous, and have crazy bizarre freaky strange shapes and appearances. Generally more powerful, and while there's more of them they attack in fewer numbers or smaller swarms than Pure Heartless. Only those with a sufficiently powerful will are turned into Nobodies if the heart is consumed. Envision it as the Nobody being the body and mind of a person, while the Heartless is the heart and soul. Gettin' metaphysical in here. Stronger hearts lead to stronger heartless, stronger minds lead to stronger nobodies (who may even maintain human form and memories).
RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Oleander - 07-06-2017 Hmm. Takezo could wind up as a nobody. XD RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Jaixe Furiael - 07-06-2017 I was gonna ramble about what Heartless are, but I think you guys got a good enough gist of it. Especially Failz up there, though there's more complexity to it than that even, and there's more to both types of Heartless even. KH is really needlessly complicated sometimes, and I can't simplify it well enough without coming off as rambly and a bit of a jerk. If there's enough interest, I might revisit the Heartless section of my roster and expand it. Frankly, I'm just interested that people might be dealing with and summoning Heartless besides me. I can help with questions though. @Little Ghost: Heartless seek Hearts, which I treat as synonymous with Souls. Repliku can always do it differently and stick with the canon. They're actually separate in KH, with the Soul being synonymous with the mind. Anyway, if a person has no heart to take, they don't go after them, simple as that. Now it'd be another story if one commanded the Heartless to attack someone they normally wouldn't. @Harlan Higgs & Takezo: Controlling Heartless is a bit weird in Omniverse than in KH. In KH, I always figured it was via a connection through the Darkness, and seeing as Darkness doesn't function or exist in the Omniverse as it does in KH (it being an actual place and all that), you'd probably need telepathy to emulate such a connection. For once, that power might actually have a use. Even disregarding the above explanation, and instead focusing on the fact that Heartless are literally mindless in canon, they probably don't understand language. You'd probably still need telepathy to get them to do what you want any way you slice it. I got around that with Jaixe by having him summon two Shadows, and then basically customizing them a bit to be able to understand his commands and have their instincts toned down accordingly so that they wouldn't scamper off and try to eat people. Normal Heartless do not act that way, and in the future, I do plan on grabbing Telepathy to do it properly, especially when Forces are finally a thing. RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Oleander - 07-06-2017 Thought on this; it might be a good idea to sort of plan up to this and turn it into a little saga. If you try to jump straight into it, you'll get overwhelmed with it, no matter how good you think you are, especially if you generate as much interest as you might be hoping for. Having ten or so threads active at once is pretty difficult if you're writing with someone that can post 600-1k words per reply, multiple times a day. RE: Heartless Attack Volunteers - Desman Black - 07-08-2017 I wouldn't mind this, It's just I'll be with other people for awhile so you'd also have to talk to them... >_> |
