RE: Prime Pokémon Types - Touko Fukawa - 02-17-2018

Yuuka Kazami

Type: Grass/Fairy
Ability: Competitive/Harvest
Hidden Ability: Moxie
Learnset: Solar Beam, Play Rough, Moonblast, Grassy Terrain, Ingrain, Petal Blizzard, Wood Hammer, Swords Dance, Nasty Plot, Knock Off, Belly Drum, Rest, Sleep Talk, Subtitute

HP: 70
ATK: 150
DEF: 70
SP. ATK: 160
SP. DEF: 110
SPEED: 20
BST: 580

Usage Suggestions: The clear intention of Yuuka is to function as a wallbreaker or anti-stall Pokemon. Given her low speed, she will nearly always be going second, except in very rare situations. However, her access to extremely effective recovery in a rest/harvest combo keeps her going for longer than one would expect when given her defensive stats. This makes it difficult for an opposing wall to deal effective chip damage to her as she sets up with Swords Dance or Nasty Plot.

Other teams may play her wholly offensively. While this set lacks some recoverability, it makes good use of her immensely high attacking stats. At first glance her Special Attack makes a special-focused build attractive, however her access to Moxie allows for extremely effective mixed or even fully physical builds. Alternately, with Ingrain or Grassy Terrain, she can function as something of a support Pokemon, though there are better options for this.

Her obvious counter is an opposing bulky Fire, or even moreso, Poison type. As her only move to damage these is Knock Off, they can easily force a switch, ending any setup she may have done.

fite me crocodile. i'll do one of fukawa later.

RE: Prime Pokémon Types - Touko Fukawa - 02-18-2018

Clownpiece

Type: Fairy/Psychic
Ability: Levitate, Telepathy
Hidden Ability: Prankster
Learnset: Taunt, Psychic, Moonblast, Psych Up, Extrasensory, Hypnosis, Psyshock, Swagger, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Will-o-wisp, Mind Blown, Baton Pass, Acupressure, Disable, Encore, Follow Me, Confuse Ray

HP: 70
ATK: 55
DEF: 60
SP. ATK: 120
SP. DEF: 115
SPEED: 120
BST: 540

Usage Suggestions: Clownpiece's greatest strength is in her versatility as a general support Pokemon, with many debilitating moves to inflict various statuses on opposing Pokemon. But one should not underestimate her capability to deal damage. While her most used sets take advantage of her Prankster, an excellent ability by all means, there are many possible sets to investigate.

Clownpiece's 120 base special attack is not to be sneezed at. While not the most powerful out there, this can be used to surprise an opponent with one of her powerful fire or psychic type special moves, or potentially a Moonblast. Most opponents will take her to be no more than a support Pokemon at first glance, leaving the door open for her to surprise them with a powerful special attack.

In addition, she can come in on a Pokemon that is currently set up, use a prankster-boosted Psych Up to copy her opponent's boosts, and then use those herself. She can either follow up with one of her own special attacks, or potentially use Baton Pass to transfer those boosts onto an ally Pokemon. She can also use this in combination with Swagger to steal the attack boost for herself or an ally.

By far, however, Clownpiece's utility is greatest in Double or Triple battles. With her access to moves that cripple her opponents like Will-o-wisp, Taunt, Swagger and Hypnosis, as well as Follow Me to potentially take a hit for an ally, she can make for an excellent partner to a more offensively geared Pokemon. While in most situations her Prankster may be the most effective, in some doubles scenarios Telepathy may be used for her to evade the damage of her partner.

However, without access to Toxic, Clownpiece will find it hard getting over opposing defensive walls. In addition, some such walls can simply Rest away her status conditions, leaving her unable to do anything to them. In addition, she is very susceptible to being taken down by powerful Poison, Ghost, or Steel type moves from an opponent, given her relatively low HP and physical defense.

Decided to do these for anyone that's interested. Just for more funsies.

RE: Prime Pokémon Types - Omni - 02-18-2018

I'd probably call Enel Electric/Flying, Meruem a Bug/Fighting (I was expecting Bug/ANYTHING ... I mean c'mon! He's literally an ant!) and Samus ... a Steel-type.

RE: Prime Pokémon Types - Amaterasu - 02-18-2018

:woah: Damn, Tearen, you even thought of the same type as me for Malon! She's definitely a Normal-type (but might have Transform or something, like Ditto)

Undyne would maybe be Water/Steel instead of pure Steel though :derp: And 100% agreed on Ammy, of course.

RE: Prime Pokémon Types - Drake Oneir - 02-18-2018

I immediately regret this thread.

Hahahaha.

For the record, I'm happy with China as a Rock/Ghost.

RE: Prime Pokémon Types - Dane Regan - 02-18-2018

I'd agree with the Steel/Normal (Fighting/Normal for his alt form through). But I reckon Dane is probably switch slowly to Psychic/Steel or Psychic/Normal or Psychic/Fighting.

Why Eb is a fairy/ghost and not DARK/FIRE? She's our residential Dark Flame Master, the coolest character in the OV.

Edit: I'd probably put my 3rd, Viola, at Fairy/Ghost though.

RE: Prime Pokémon Types - Alexander Blakesley - 02-18-2018

I'd consider Alexander as more of a Steel/Fighting (because he's a competant combatant in close quarters as well as ranged combat) or Steel Flying (Because jump kit + grapple cables = futuristic spiderman), other than that it's pretty accurate.

RE: Prime Pokémon Types - Jade Harley - 02-18-2018

I adore this! Yes, I am now pokemans!!!!!111!!1

RE: Prime Pokémon Types - Amber Veritz - 02-18-2018

I like this. Dawn would work as Fire/Steel/Dark in any combinations with those types. Pyrrha isn't here, but I'd say she's easily Fire/Fighting
