Battle Royale Fanfic? - Interest - Blink - 06-25-2017
Hey there! I am trying to find something to write to get me back into it, so I have a idea that will hopefully help. I'd like to write a Battle Royale fanfic here in the Omniverse (creative forum), kind of in the style of PLAYERUNKNOWN's Battlegrounds.
The idea is that the game would feature whole teams of 2-5 people, along with a bunch of solo players. It would be an interactive game, so I (and anyone lookin to join) would write chapters and anyone who is reading along can help us make decisions along the way. I'd also look to other people to help me make the cast, as well.
I'm probably going to do it regardless, but the question is that would anyone here be willing to read and/or participate in this? It will help decide if I want to do it here or try to do it in another form.

If you wanted you could make a secondary NPC thing, so it happens in-universe somewhere and you can earn OM for it. Sort of like DA-lite but with NPCs that actually die permanently.
Personally ... I've got my fill with DA, but I thought I'd throw that option out there for ya.

IF you want, sooner or later Takezo will be sent to HELL FOR HIS SINS! ehem... and he'll be captured/willingly compete in the gladiator arena to earn his freedom and return... You could play as the NPC's that he'll be mercilessly slaughtering. XD

I appreciate that. It's definetly something to think about. I think I've probably had my full of 'roleplaying' Dante's Abyss as well. I'd love to host a story saga but everytime I've tried, it's been either bad timing or just didn't get any attention. Anyway, I've always got into interactive stories, broken into chapters so they aren't too difficult to write. Also, if I'm the main one writing everything, then I know that it'll pass or fail on my own lazyness and not anyone else's.
I envision having people just help me come up with the cast and then myself (and guest writers, like Vi) would write the actual story, while taking ideas from those following along. If I could earn OM for it, I wouldn't argue, but I dunno how fair it'd be since it would be pretty off topic from Blink and my secondaries. It's just kinda something I wanted to try for fun, that is less intensive then a competitive saga.

Yea, I can do that as a Story Teller. Kind of unrelated to the topic at hand, but yea, I'm up for it.

I wasn't requesting a storyteller as much as a collaberative partner. I was considering mayhaps you'd play a handful of bigger named opponents in the gladiator event, sort of building off what you were already talking about. I thought it was pretty related, since the only change is the venue.

I dunno how much you've followed the rules, but there are pleeeenty of totally-unrelated NPC story threads. (hell, look at Guu or anything in the Dataverse) We let people post on any account for that stuff and earn OM for it, cause we're cool like that :frogc00l:

Yea, I guess I was kind of aware of the rule, but wasn't sure exactly how far it stretched. Okay, well, if I end up doing this, I don't see a bad reason to post it as an actual Omniverse thing. I guess more questions will be incoming in the questions forum as I figure out exactly how I want to play it.

You could make a sort of secondary saga out of it, possibly? As in, participants create Secondaries solely for the Battle Royale and the survivors will escape and can choose to continue playing their now fleshed-out secondaries.
It sounds like something with the potential to become as big as Dante's Abyss, though, so just be prepared for a massive influx of people
