Happy Third Omniversary - Alex - 08-29-2016

August 28th, 2016 (yesterday) marks three years since the Omniverse first launched onto the interwebs.

I just wanted to take this time to thank all of our members for your continued support.  Without all of you willing to donate your time to this crazy little home of mine, the Omniverse just wouldn't be what it is today.  I also want to give a special shout-out to the active members of the staff who are always willing to sacrifice their time reading threads, crunching numbers, going over new applications, and examining prospective moves.  I remember when the staff was four people, and that was a dark and hair-splitting time.

The Omniverse continues to grow and develop as its characters branch out and try to make names for themselves.  Never give up.  Never stop trying to be yourselves and make your mark in the world.  Karl Jak started with 7$ to his name and now he's the most prolific producer in the Omniverse (there's a reference to something real in there, I promise you).  We had a blood-filled Colosseum spectacle.  The Late, Great Wyatt took us all on a drama-filled adventure in the name of trinkets and baubles.  The Institute killed its dragon.  Stars fell across the Omniverse.  As one generation of factions faded into history, another strives to take their place.

I know some of the things that the new year will hold.  I know we'll have an in-character combat league for people to hurt others and have it mean something.  I know that we'll have another competitive spectacle sometime this autumn.  I know I'm working on another project that I hope will come to fruition very soon ™.  Nothing in the Omniverse every stays the same.  People come and go.  Characters arrive and fade into forgotten history.  We live in a world that's constantly changing.

I'm glad you've decided to join us and stay with us.  I hope you've enjoy your time and continue to do so.

Well...Here we are.

It's only been a year since I joined this place. A part of my Omniverse-life I don't exactly praise...When I was playing as the Flash. I don't like to dwell on this for long, but I do have to admit, it was all a lot of fun. A fail on multiple levels(especially his willingness to kill in DA), but it was fun.

However, I eventually hit two separate points where I went inactive. First came when I fucked up with the Darkseid event, and the second came when I just...Didn't know where I was gonna go from there. I swapped to an OC, whom I never even made a Nexus post for...And moved on.

Then, I made a unneeded glorious return as the Joker. Only got 2 posts in with him, and by then I just stuck around to stay in the community for a while. I ended up swapping to Mick Rory after Blink asked for Joker back...

And here we are now. The Hot-Headed Rogue known as Mick Rory is still standing. He's joined a Rebel circuit, and is currently waiting on a Storyteller to get him killed - my first death since Dante's Abyss 2015.

The point of all of this crapton of post? I just have to say...Thanks for all the good times. From right there at the beginning, to now, it's been fun. And I can't wait to see where this journey takes us.

Third anniversary? I've been around for less than half of this awesome trip... and I sometimes wish I had found the Omniverse sooner, to experience more of its awesomeness and meet more of the members that are now gone.

It's been about one and a half years now. During that time I joined as Alexyana - I still remember creating the first of my overly detailedly explained moves back then, and giving Guu trouble with my app - and later with Aeris. Then there was Amaterasu, Yang and Sabrina. It certainly wasn't a straight career. But it certainly was one I enjoyed thoroughly.

Buuut, talking about the past makes it sound like we're at a funeral, not an anniversary. I can only say, I'm looking forward to three more years - at the very least. The Omniverse is only just getting started, and I can't wait to see what will become of it in the future. What awesome stories will be told, who is gonna join and leave, what sort of crazy characters we will be seeing. And I'll do my damned best to be there, working on myself to improve as both a player slash writer and as a staff member.

Damn. Three years. Well, I haven't even been around for one, yet. But I believe that the Omniverse is one of the greatest things I've ever been a part of. It's certainly been a hell of a learning experience in how to write effectively.

I can't exactly sing many of the praises I've seen here, due to the unfortunate fact that I wasn't there for things like Dante 2015, or the Scramble, or even Secondary Saga. But I can say that, from what I've seen now, we have a lot of amazing people.

Last November, I joined as a rather undeveloped character of my own design, Dawson... whatever his last name was then. I've changed it, like, thirty times since. Anyway, I just wanted to bring up the Graveyard. I still can't tell whether my luck there was good or bad. I think bad, but I survived for quite a while.

Since then, my primary has switched to Judy Hopps, probably my strongest writing ever. Especially in more recent times. And that's thanks to you guys. So yeah. Thanks, and let's keep going for another three years, yeah?

Dear lord. By the way things have been running smoothly around here, I assumed that the Omniverse was around for much longer than that!

But no really, I found my second home already: a place where my characters can grow up into new and unforseen stories while inspiring my own tales. I'm already seeing my OC Creatia develop into something amazing, with some bits that's already become canon in her story. I think I can see her and a few more characters evolve into something great here, no matter if I'm here for three more weeks or three more years.

But like I said before in the chatbox, I'm a part of history now. It may be a tiny part now, but that doesn't matter! I may not have been around to witness the Secondary Saga, The Hero's Graveyard, Dante's Abyss, and all the other events... But I will be around to experience everything else as the Omniverse's history grows and evolves.

Here's to staying three more years and beyond! That way I can watch my role, and my characters, grow into something meaningful alongside others who I know will etch themselves into Omnivere legends. Cheers to the Omniverse, and cheers to you all for making this place incredible!

Wow, it's been a crazy Ride these three years.

I've been Jak for 3 years on the site, added John Connor and then switched some times after to Luger and some secondaries such as Jan Templar and Rico.

Now I'm back at Marcus Wright for my alt.

Gotta hand it to the folks who been with this site for a while, I been having a fun time here and this has become the best experience I had for RP. I can tell that I will be sticking here for the next generation to come. The community has been friendly to newcomers like myself. :awesome:

Happy Omniversary everybody! I'm in Scotland at the moment with my Final Fantasy grilfriend, and totally forgot about this until now (it's my last full day and I'm coming back tomorrow) so thanks to Alex for carrying on the tradition and the toast! I don't have a real drink to hand, nor can I type much without my voice software, but I shall toast you with this glass of water.
