Leaving the Omniverse - Tearen Wover - 05-29-2017

Well this is abrupt, innit?

Except it's not. I've tried a few times to quit the Omniverse cold turkey, for the primary reason that I suffer from addictive personality traits and the OV, while being fantastic and a great place to write, interferes heavily with my ability to function.

With the recent additions to my family and looming financial oblivion, I unfortunately have to come to terms with the fact that leaving the site entirely is probably in my and my family's best interests. I know this may come as a shock and disappointment to many, but I have to face my reality.

That being said, I think my problem previous times has been that I have left my stories in the Omniverse unfinished, thus leaving a strong temptation to return. As such, I feel that by wrapping up my current IC story lines and allowing my Primes to retire themselves with dignity, I won't feel compelled to come back and start feeding my addiction again.

As such, I ask for the cooperation and understanding of Omniverse Staff and Players alike to help us all come to a satisfying conclusion to Kopaka and Tearen's stories.

Kopaka is pretty simple; I just need shaun's permission for him to valiantly save Weiss and Keldor, trapping himself in Nebula space as it collapses. Grim, but heroic, and fine by me since Kopecker didn't have much going for him anyway.

Tearen is only slightly more complicated; with the imminent retrieval of his daughter, I foresee him having one final soliloquy with Jade before travelling somewhere peaceful in the Vasty Deeps and either Omni-Sploding with her, or, summoning a portal out of the Omniverse that closes behind them, depending on what Admins allow.

As for my secondaries, people can feel free to write with and use them as they see fit, particularly in the case of Arle and Millie.

Whatever the case, I don't want to drag this out longer than necessary, so once the basic parameters are met, I'll be withdrawing fairly quickly. As a personal favor, I'd like if people refrained from trying to change my mind on the subject or guilting me into staying. Trust me when I say that this particular use of my creative energy is causing destructive patterns in my life that I cannot afford to repeat. This is not a judgement against the Omniverse, or any of you. Otherwise you can use this thread if you feel I have a loose thread with you that needs snipping, and I'll try to tie it up before departing.

Thanks.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Gildarts - 05-29-2017

Good luck in the future. Thank you for the good times. <3

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Zack Fair - 05-29-2017

Makes sense man, always take care of the real you first. Good luck in life!

Hang onto my Guild Wars 2 name if you want to roll through Tyria sometime. Or don't. I get it how it is with connections to old haunts.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Skeletor - 05-29-2017

Aw man. I can't betray you if you sacrifice yourself first!

In all seriousness though, Good luck with everything! you have been a stellar part of this site and we will be sad to see you go.

Warm wishes and best of luck and all of that! Myah!

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Ash Williams - 05-29-2017

I wish I got to know more of you man and interacted with you in character but hearing from everyone else, you were a great part in the omniverse. The beauty I see in this is that you are leaving a legacy for everyone to read rather new people or people who've been with this site for a while. That's the best thing to be proud about. We will remember you for a long time and never forget you. I hope that you and your family will do well in the future.

God's speed Aaron, God's speed

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Weiss Schnee - 05-29-2017

...Leaving me alone with Skeletor! Who's really sacrificing when that situation comes up! He's going to feel no need to stop with the puns now.

Jokes aside, thanks for the fun you gave us! You've done a lot for this site - and we do appreciate it, a lot. You've left a lot of things for people to read, and made a lot of this site, but... hey, life changes, and in the end it's a fun but silly roleplay site! Go enjoy your life! Use this as something to grow from instead of letting it root ya! We'll be supportin' ya all the way.

'course, if you're waiting till our SL finishes, I'm going to make sure that, at the very least, you'll get the very best posts I have to spare. Think of it as my going-away present.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Moon Knight - 05-29-2017

I wish you best of luck, I have to say you are truly a great addition to the Omniverse. I truly wish you good fortune for now and the future, may life be easy and great. We'll all be praying for ya.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Amaterasu - 05-30-2017

It's always the best ones who leave... you'll be missed! But, the real world comes first!

Can't add much to what the others have said here already, but you have nothing but the best wishes from me too!

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Mark - 05-30-2017

Best of luck, man. We'll miss you.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Arle Nadja - 05-30-2017

Oh. Oh. Thank you for letting me know. It was nice to have the pleasure of RPing with you before you departed, and I wish you the best in the future. vwv

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Omni - 05-30-2017

Totally surprised. I had no idea the place was having such an effect on you. But you do what you've gotta do. Family first, and although your mind seems made up, I do hope at some point in the future you're able to consider coming back or hanging around in maybe a lower intensity that's more conducive to a family life.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Guu - 05-30-2017

Oh, damn. Well, good luck with your endeavors, man.

Fairwell my elderich knight...

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - ElFailzalot - 05-30-2017

Man. This really is surprising. It's understandable, life takes up a lot of time. Do what you need to do, man. Get yourself sorted.

As for this? Sure. You got it. Hell of a send off.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Mega Man X - 05-30-2017

I always did kind of look up to the major players of the Omniverse, like yourself and the founding staff. I didn't always consider myself worth of writing with such powerful and influential people. It's a shame I'll never get that opportunity to write with the God-Mind at all now, but I most certainly understand the reasons why.

Take care, and don't think too poorly of us.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Alex - 05-30-2017

Godmind-speed, young Nealaphh.

We shall remember you always. Your legacy here is secured.

Best of luck with the family, my man. We will all be there someday.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Handsome Jack - 05-30-2017

I still remember when you joined the site. It was you, Guu, and Gilgamesh that brought the OV back from the brink of extinction after months of nigh-inactivity. You've left a legacy here and I can honestly say that without you, the Omniverse would be a much different place.

I understand the struggles of juggling family, work, and the OV. While I've just gotten to the point where I practically don't write, I can see that doing so yourself isn't a viable option and I can respect that. It's time for you to leave your mark on the offline world, one I'm sure will be more influential even than the one you left here.

Take care of yourself, man. Live a good life with no regrets.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - The Vision - 05-30-2017

I second MM X in that I also looked up to you as Nealaphhh and Tearen. Best wishes for the future, take care.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Yu Kanda - 05-30-2017

Thank you Neal for some awesome stories, characters and memories. I can only commend you for your choice to place family first, its a decission i have nothing but respect for.

I truly hope the future will treat you well. Hopefully our paths will cross again!

Looking forward to read your final posts.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Kelly MacAryn - 05-30-2017

Well damn.

I haven't known you as long as many of the OV regulars, but I'll be sorry to see you go. You've added a lot to this place. That said, way to correctly identify your priorities and take action in pursuit of your goals. #RealLife #Behbehs #Seriousbusiness.

Good luck in your future endeavors, and keep those intellectual fires burning.

RE: Leaving the Omniverse - Demetri Malius - 05-30-2017

Phh you gonna make me cry :c I still reme, ber when you were the first prime Demetri met in costa del sol and helping me get the inspiration for IRIS. You are a damn good writer and everyone here is gonna remember what you did as Nealaphh/Tearen and Kopaka. I know this is hard for you and everything and keep in contact if you want, i still wouldn;t mind some Magiiiiiic Reaaalllllm every once in a while when i have time. I'm gonna miss you so much man. I wish you good luck in your real life endeavors, and Demetri will never forget the God Mind and his teachings.

I wouldnt mind taking a break from my quest for Demetri and get one last interaction wih the ol' god mind, that or even a dataverse conversation, who knows, maybe the old eldritch coot knows his time is coming. Tongue I'm fine with whatever you choose, even if its that a last interaction wouldnt make sense for our characters right now.
