(Suggestion) Base Upgrade: Robotic Body - Gaston - 05-14-2017
So, I had a suggestion for a Base Upgrade. Said upgrade would be called something like Robotic Body, or Robotic Uplink station, and functions like this:
When you enter the Uplink Station, a robotic body is created, similar in powers to you but weaker in strength (Similar, power wise, to entering the Dataverse with a VR station compared to Physically). You then control this robotic body with a VR headset and specialised equipment, making you see through its eyes, so to speak. The body could go anywhere in the Omniverse, and of course, its death would not result in your death. This would cost 1000 OM, but for every body that is destroyed, you have to pay an additional 100 OM to use it again.

What sort of use/benefit would this give people over using an Assist with Remote Control Proficiency/Fusion/Telepathy?

The benefit of this is it lets the person directly control the robot (Like with remote control) but they don't need to be in the same location, physically.

It might could work, but would need balancing. Your body being vulnerable whilst robo-exploring and being unable to "jump back" without the the bot redocking. Also being killed if your robot is destroyed.
So people don't use this as a convenient way to cause trouble in other Verses without repercussions.

What about a "Robotic body" copy of yourself, an upgrade to your VR/Uplink, which guards your base while you are surfing the Dataverse and fights intruders in your stead?

I think that can be handled with the Base Defense Upgrade we already got.

Perhaps both of them could be upgrades? The base defense only adds, mechanically, 10%, 20%, or 30% to defenders stats, from what the upgrade says, and doesn't actually defend your base in your stead. Also, Cell, while I'd agree with the first 2 points (No going offline without the robot being destroyed, body is vulnerable during uplink time) I don't think robotic body death should result in the death of your character, as that negates the purpose of the upgrade.
