==> Essent: Enter - Essent Rose Allison - 05-13-2017 Essent's eyes blinked a few times as she woke up. Everything was black no matter how many times she blinked. She tries to say something but nothing comes out of her mouth. She cannot move either, which brings her in a panic. What the heck happened to her? One minute, she was at the Hegemony's banquet with her fellow world saviors. The next... She was here. Where was Ender? Mirion? Hitsome and Harleque? What about the others like Revan and Storm? "Do not worry, Prime," said a mysterious voice. Essent's eyes gazed at a smiling silhouette in front of her. Who was thi- "My name is Omni. This is not the world you know." That answers a couple of her questions. But what world is- "This is the Omniverse." Omniverse. But why her- "You interest me, so I made you a part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully." Essent's hands moved on their own, reaching for a glimmering orb that was shining every color known to man. What was this? "This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most." So she can make anything with this? Interesting... This will require the use of SCIENCE!!! "You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn. That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting." As the vast darkness and the silhouette faded, Essent found herself able to move and speak again. This was the Omniverse...? Seemed empty. That was when she turned around to find... A statue of Hitsome. How fitting. He IS now the most powerful Fist User on Earth at the moment. But was he here in the Omniverse? Who knows? Essent began to walk in a random direction, seeing if there's anything within this white void besides that statue. Maybe she can find someone else along the way... Walking there is gonna be hard. Good thing she has wings- Wait. Where are they? Usually she'll be able to focus and then they would form! But... She feels like she lost it... Like failing an Exceeded Fist... Actually, she feels like she lost all but a few of her abilities! But... She can gain them back, right? This Omnilium... Oh man, so much research is gonna be made with this stuff. For now, she's wing-less, whipfist-less, blade-arm-less, and clawed-feet-less. It's sad. She's sad. She misses them. How did this happen? Okay, enough Bill Wurtz references. Essent needs to find someone who has answers and a place besides all this white... She might end up going crazy if she stays here. "Helllooooooo?" she calls out. "Anyone here???" RE: ==> Essent: Enter - Tearen Wover - 05-13-2017 There comes a faint whirring noise from Essent's left. The girl turns to see what appears to be some sort of malevolent spectre floating towards her at breakneck speed. Startled, but undaunted, the Fist user feels her palms itch as the reflex to call upon the Dual Scratch wells up. As the phantom draws closer, however, she can see that the figure is not floating, but riding a...segway. The scientist blinks. Yes. That is a segway scooter. It is being ridden by a tall humanoid wrapped in brown, ragged garb, and a low hood hangs over acid green eyes. The face is apparently obscured in shadow. ... Tearen slowed to a stop, a few feet away from the female. Judging her vector of travel, relative physique and glassy-eyed appearance, it was safe to assert that she was new. That, and the swirl of terror and confision that was leaking from her mind into the psychic wavelength. The eldritch Prime blinked once. "Hey, uh...you lost?" he shouted, his rasping voice barely audible, despite the yawning silence of the Nexus. Before Essent could respond, the mysterious figure held up a solitary finger, bidding her patience for a moment. Suddenly, Tearen was feeling rather ill. Any number of things could be causing this, but it was hard to think through this fog of nausea. The legendary Prime dismounted his segway and immediately doubled over, vomiting what appeared to be a thick, black, rolling mist onto the pristine floor of the Nexus. Essent's sensibilities advised her to flee, but the scientific curiosity was too strong to peel her eyes away from the wretched spectacle. Meanwhile, Tearen was experiencing a nearly existentisl amount of pain. With every heave, another cloud of darkness boiled out onto the porcelain plain, disippating however instantly. Small fragments cracked away from his glass-like face before nearly his entire obsidian carapace had fallen away, revealing swarthy, dark brown skin. By the time the episode had passed, Tearen could confirm that he was once again wearing a human body, running a hand through his long, silvery-white hair. After taking a few haggard breaths, the Shadow staggered to his feet and blinked at Essent's mortified face. "Sorry about that. You new here?" Give her a moment... - Essent Rose Allison - 05-13-2017 ![]() Indeed, Essent was mortified. Seeing a ghost... Like... Thing approach her... And then came that transformation. That was... Wow. What an event. Essent should be used to it as she is- Well, was- a Fist User. She's seen plenty of crazy stuff and transformations. Especially when it came to all the Forme stuff. Maybe she can get her Virus Forme back when she spends enough time here. "Y-yeah, I'm new." She let out a nervous laugh. Her glasses slightly slides down her nose and she wipes some accumulating sweat from her forehead. Judging by his presence here, his familiarity to the realm, and powerful visage, this person can't be a Fist User like her. Nor someone of her world. Noticing her glasses are farther down her nose, she slid them back up again and adjusted her lab coat. "I just arrived here a few seconds ago. Kinda freaked out due to me losing the majority of my powers and stuff. This... Omniverse, was it? Seems pretty empty. Or is this just part of it and I have yet to see the bigger picture?" She shrugged. Being new here, she has to figure out the ropes and stuff before she settles down. Her arms crossed, head tilted and eyebrows raised. Curiouser and curiouser. Things get more interesting by the minutes. This is gonna take a lot of research. RE: ==> Essent: Enter - Tearen Wover - 05-13-2017 Tearen raised one of his newly reacquired eyebrows at the girl. She was young, but her powers of deduction seemed to be fairly astute. He tried to ignore all the new sensory input he was receiving focus on this earnest newcomer. "YEAH!" Tearen shouted, then immediately grasped as his throat and gurgled slightly. He wasn't used to speaking with an actual voice, and straining to be heard all those months in the Underverse had made it habitual to force his words. "Sorry again." he wheezed, waving a hand at her. "Haven't been human in a long time, not sure what brought it on. Anyway, yes, this is just the nexus of the Omniverse, aptly named the Nexus. There are gates that lead to other sections, it's all fairly..." Tearen trailed off. What he wanted to say was 'uninspired', but he didn't want to come across as coarse to this new Prime. He offered a strange little bow, almost reminiscent of a military salute. "My name is Tearen Wover. My condolences." D'oh boy. - Essent Rose Allison - 05-13-2017 ![]() Essent slightly recoiled at the shout but came back together once she realized that this... This guy hasn't been human for a while now. That's strange. What kind of entity was he before? And he's really tall. Almost as tall as Obel. Essent raised an eyebrow in curiosity about this strange man's predicament. It's rather interesting. "Essent. Essent Allison. Local scientist and user of the Fist of Genetics. Sort of. I'm merely just a girl who turns her hands into claws now." She rubbed the back of her head a bit and out came a nervous laugh. But then she offered a hand. For a handshake. "A pleasure, mister Wover. And you're fine. I've seen stranger. You kinda caught me off guard, though." When the other did shake her hand, she offered a smile. "You said this is the first time in a while you're human, right? What were you before? I'm obviously curious after that whole episode of changes, transformations, and adjustments. I've... Been through a few myself. But I'm gonna have to earn mine back so... I'm gonna be here for a while." RE: ==> Essent: Enter - Tearen Wover - 05-13-2017 Tearen tugged his collar down further and let out a low chuckle. He clasped the younger Prime's hand gingerly and shook it. The physical affirmation felt foreign, but not unwelcome. He decided he liked Essent, but perhaps he was setting his standards too low after having been trapped in literal hell for several months. "Merely...my dear. No one deserves to dishonor themselves by saying they 'merely' shapeshift. The Omniverse is full of strange and wonderful things, but to compare and contrast is to invite isolation..." Tearen said, cutting himself off before edging into a lecture. It was tempting to do so with newcomers, such as Essent. "As for what I was before, well, I'm not sure. Unfathomable, yet familiar. Perhaps a discussion for more comfortable conversations. I am currently traveling to a friend's...house. I am sure she wouldn't mind a plus one." Tearen said, gesturing at the gate to the Frozen Fields which still lay far off in the distance. A thought crossed the Prime's mind. "Have you tried summoning anything yet? It would behoove you to dress in warmer attire..." Tearen said thoughtfully. He added an afterthought. "...if you wish to travel together, I mean. I don't mean to presume on your agenda." Essent has joined your party! - Essent Rose Allison - 05-14-2017 Essent smiled at the mini lecture. "You're right on that one," she said. "I'm still special." And this curiosity as to this strange man's other form... This will require a lot of research! As for the invitation to come along... She really had nothing else to do. She just got here and all and she didn't have a set direction. Plus, she wants to get to know this Omniverse better, so starting off by traveling with an experienced person as a guide should be one heck of a journey. Plus, she doesn't mind getting to know others. "Sure, I can come along. I don't really have anything else to do at the moment." The summoning clothes part did have her become curious... "Summoning, huh? Lemme try and focus... It should be easy..." And so... ![]() "Hey, it worked! That's awesome!" Essent had a little chuckle of victory after her wardrobe change. This really was awesome. Convenient as well. Well, as long as she had enough focus and... Omnilium she thinks. Again. Science. Gotta love all that SCIENCE!!! "How far away is that... Arch... Thing?" RE: ==> Essent: Enter - Tearen Wover - 05-14-2017 Tearen offered the female a wan smile as she delighted at her success. She seemed to be taking all of this in stride; almost to the point where he worried that something may have seriously snapped when she was brought here. Or, perhaps the existential dread would set in later - Everyone felt it at some point. Tearen gave the surrounding landscape (or lack thereof) one last scan before turning his attention back to Essent. "We call them Gates, but about a few hours walk from here." Tearen said in a casual tone. He could have, naturally, suggested the possibility of summoning some sort of transport. The Eldritch Human had taken an interest in this new Prime, however, and wished to see where her natural ability to draw conclusions ranked. With the idea of restarting the Omniverse Institute nestled in his webwork of thought, it was important to sniff out potential talent. That reminded him...he would have to see how she performed in stressful conditions. It was a good thing that they were going to the second most dangerous Verse in this world... Taking it in stride... - Essent Rose Allison - 05-14-2017 ![]() "A few hours? Now I wish I had my wings. Walking can get tiresome. I know I can gain them back but I'm already missing them. They're the best form of transport ever! In my opinion at least. They're big, deep black with claws, and they're really REALLY useful." Essent doesn't really have any worry right now. Sure, she'll miss her friends but hey, it's a new world! So many discoveries to be made! So many people to meet! She'll probably have a moment of missing her home Earth one day but that day isn't today. She doesn't want to give off a bad first impression. "It's like... I dunno. A missing piece of a puzzle. I'll find it eventually, I just have to keep looking. I just have to fill myself with enough determination, that's all." That's when she put on a heroic pose and look on her face. "But isn't that what a scientist does, after all? To discover the undiscovered! To find evidence! To create theories and confirm laws! To figure out the mysteries of life! It's an exciting experience; which I why I joined the field! I used to study my Fist Powers but, due to what seems to be a... Biological change, I can study Omnilium powers! I just need a lab, some tools, and plenty of Omnilium! And volunteers, maybe. There are so many interesting things about this world already!" That's when she remember the current situation. "But I'll have to get starter after this little tour. I'll stick around a bit to see what I can do to help out. Maybe the more I do, the more Omnilium I get. And the more Omnilium I get, the more I can summon, and the more I can summon, the more of my powers I can get back. It would really useful if I had all my powers because, if anything happens, I can defend myself. For now..." Essent focused a bit and revealed her Dual Scratch claws. "These will have to do. Not that I mind. It's a good start for defending myself." It'll probably take months before she can get everything back. Especially Virus Forme. She needs that. RE: ==> Essent: Enter - Tearen Wover - 05-14-2017 Tearen listened patiently to everything that Essent had to say before responding with a simple "Hm." While there were approximately a thousand ways he could get them to the Frozen Fields, Essent had failed to suggest even one, aside from the obvious. Perhaps this was just an assumption on her part that he would have offered such information inherently, or it could signal that she easily lost focus. After all, the girl had seemed to jump at the opportunity to talk about her enthisiasm and determination. There was also the fact that Tearen was standing right next to a segway scooter. Ah well. The ex-enigma knew her type well enough. In fact, Tearen could see Essent getting along quite well with Jade, once they got to her tower. Either way, he was eager to see his adopted daughter again, and though he trusted the Witch of Space implicitly with Rebecca's care, a parental sense of urgency compelled him to move along. So, without further ado, Tearen started walking towards the gate to the Frozen Fields, leaving the scooter conspicuously behind. There was one other thing bothering him, though... "What are these Fist powers you keep mentioning?" Tearen asked as he walked. To pass the time, he began to braid his long, silvery hair into a woven ponytail. Telekinetically, of course. Essent hesitated for a moment before responding. "...I've only mentioned them once..." she said slowly, trying to retrace the conversation in her head. Tearen chastised himself mentally: it was so easy to mistake surface thoughts for spoken word when he wasn't operating with a more efficient brain. He decided to play it off, for now. "Oh? Hm. All the same, enlighten me." Fist Powers - Essent Rose Allison - 05-14-2017 Even if she only mentioned it once, the other's curiosity sparked her enthusiasm. "I'd be happy to tell you! I've been studying them for years, after all!" "Oh, and, you might want to bring that with you." Essent pointed at the segway she did notice but didn't even question because it would get off topic. ![]() "Fist powers are these supernatural abilities gifted to us humans by this large alien meteor called the Fist of God! They come in three types: Force (which effects the environment and natural forces like fire and lightning), matter (which creates physical constructs), and energy (which effects non-solid forces like time and space)! My Fist power, the Fist of Genetics, is a Matter-Type fist, which allows me to morph my physical being to create weapons! Fist powers run on Chi, which is found mostly in the bloodstream. It is with this chi we form our powers! Energy uses the least, Matter in the middle, and Force the most! This leaves a Matter Fist user like me at a disadvantage. If the construct we create is destroyed rather than dispelled, we lose the chi that we used to make the construct." "There are four types of Fists; Basic, Exceeded, Super, and True. Basic is exactly what is says on the tin. There are no risks involved and is attained by having material from the Fist of God in you! Usually you activate one through martial arts or meditation. these require the least amount of chi and, like stated at the title, are basic techniques." "Exceeded is a more powerful form of a basic move. They require more Chi (usually more than we can produce) and allow us to blend Fist types. This comes with a risk. If you fail to activate it for the first time, you risk damaging your supply of Chi permanently and losing the ability to use your powers. The risk decreased after each time you use it. As I know better, I barely use an Exceeded Fist." "Super is usually a finishing move. A Super Fist usually requires all the chi in one's body (and maybe more from our Fist Persona) to do. This comes at the risk of... Death. Like Exceeded, the risk decreased overtime but there is always that risk. Like I said earlier, I know better, so I don't use Super Fists. I only used one once and that was it." "True... True is really interesting. You use your Fist Power to it's full potential. Your chi starts to morph your body and allows you to use your powers which can become stronger than a nuclear bomb at this stage. You gain more understanding of your powers as well and can make the impossible possible. This comes with a great risk. You have to be in a desperate situation in order to activate it. In my case, as I have achieved True Fist, I was dying by the hands of a poison which would kill me if I betrayed this... Evil king I was forced be on the side of. I betrayed him anyway for the benefit of the world. Anyway, you risk everything you stand for in order to achieve True Fist. Friends, Family, morals, even the world. But here's the thing: You must confront your Fist Persona. It is a mental battle of will when it comes to this, as you must risk losing control of your body to your Persona. Usually, Fist Personas object the users goals. They desire conflict and fighting. I lost control of my body for a few minutes when I battled my Persona. But after I regathered myself I managed to defeat it and regain control. It was... Scary to be completely honest. Long story short, you must understand that, by attaining True Fist, you risk that your Persona will use this great power to destroy everything you hold dear if you lose. If you win, you have access to an infinite amount of Chi for a limited time and have access to a brand new Forme! This Forme is a simpler version of one's True Fist and gives a power-up when transformed into it." "Seeing as my body has been changed to fit Omnilium instead of Chi, I might need to do some studies to see how it works. Is Omnilium fused to our DNA? Is it also found as energy in the bloodstream like Chi? Or perhaps something else..." Essent tapped her chin. "So many questions... And so little answers." RE: ==> Essent: Enter - Tearen Wover - 05-15-2017 Tearen heard what Essent was saying, but wasn't really listening. All he needed to know was that a giant meteor hit her planet and gave everyone superpowers. It sounded a lot like the work of one of his previous peers, had they felt inclined to completely forgo any sense of subtlety. One of the first rules that was taught to Enigmas was that if the universe is forced to change, it will snap back instantly. Bending it slowly tended to produce a more profound and lasting effect. Still, Tearen did pay enough attention to hear Essent begin asking some questions that he himself intended to explore. It was good to know that he wasn't the only Prime interested in plumbing the fundamental aspects of these varied realms. As he briefly connected his mind to the Dataverse, however, he came across some of Essent's online ramblings. He had been vaguely aware that the young Prime had been continuing to experiment with Omnilium as they walked, and the fruit of her effort now became apparent. Especially when she took their picture. "Essent." "Hm?" "You shouldn't feel reluctant to contact Primes that you interpret as fictional. It's a very common occurence here. The larger reason to refrain from discussing it openly, however, is that it is usually seen as rude." Tearen said softly. "R...rude?" Essent echoed, her tone honestly crestfallen. After all, how could one appropriately appreciate such an encounter without being able to ask about literally-oh. "Precisely." Tearen said, in response to her ponderings. "Imagine someone read a book about you, about some of your hardest trials and adventures. Your deepest emotions, your darkest shames, all laid bare to them. Would you not feel exposed? Vulnerable? Violated?" Essent did not respond, but her thoughts had become shrouded. Tearen couldn't tell if the occlusion was intentional or a by-product of furtive consternation, but it was impossible to glean distinct thoughts from it without making himself apparent. The pair continued walking in silence for some time. The Truth Hurts - Essent Rose Allison - 05-16-2017 ![]() Indeed this realization was hard on her. She should've known. She can't act like a total fangirl here. She has to pretend to not know anything. Anything but name. Making references was fun while it lasted. Well, she can still make references but she has to be careful about the people around her. They will get suspicious. Maybe even angry. Possible friendships may be ruined. Again, she should've known. She doesn't want to have a bad time. She wants to have a good time. This was one heck of a revelation. But then again... When it comes to her... She would be honored. People know her story. The action, the drama, the SCIENCE. Sure... There might be some revealed secrets here and there but, well, secrets are doomed to be revealed eventually, aren't they? If anything, as long as people don't know when she goes to the bathroom or something similar, that's alright with her. People have different opinions on this matter. But Essent... Essent likes to look on the bright side. She may have to pretend to not know anything, but she can still see some friendships blossoming. After twenty minutes of silence and thinking, and maybe some imaginary adventures in Essent's head, she decided to speak up again. She was to break the ice once more. "Hey Tearen? Who is this friend of yours? Is he or she a nice person?" Essent really hopes so. She doesn't really want to meet a Sun Wu Kong-like character. And Sun Wu Kong was EVIL. The fact that Essent had to be forced onto his side through a poison that would kill her if she betrayed him? And the fact that he wanted to take over the world and have it governed only by tournaments and battles? Fist Users should follow their own paths! No king is needed for this! Despite having superpowers made for fighting, the user is still human! Free will and decision making is a thing when it comes to humans! Sure, Essent has powers that tear things apart but she became a scientist instead of a fighter! Some Fist Users are doctors! Cooks, maybe! Every Fist User is different. But enough rambling about Sun Wu Kong and his ideologies. RE: ==> Essent: Enter - Tearen Wover - 05-16-2017 Tearen frowned slightly as Essent turned these thoughts over. Though her mind had temporarily become occluded to surface skimming, the cloudy gloom surrounding her thoughts was pretty self-evident. When she spoke up again, he decided to append his previous statement. "Before I answer that Essent, I need you to know that no damage you may cause by telling people your knowledge of them is irreparable. I'm just saying that you need to practice some basic social grace, for example..." Tearen rolled his eyes as he tried to think of a suitable human metaphor. "...If you met a celebrity you were fond of, but they were surrounded by a controversy, you wouldn't nag them about it, would you?" he finished, satisfied that this was a suitable response. He could feel the clouds around Essent's emotions lift slightly. She simply mumbled something in reply as she fiddled with her phone. When Tearen had come across her dataverse posts about an hour ago, he had been bemused, but this was the first time she had done something dangerous. The Shadow's right eye twitched involuntarily as he observed her take a picture of herself in front of the gate to the fields. "Essent, I hate to keep talking down to you, but you should really avoid being so forward about your location in the Omniverse. There are a multitude of Primes who would hunt you down and kill you, or worse, just for the fun of it." "...worse?" she said, turning around with a wide-eyed expression. Tearen pinched his nose slightly before smiling at her. "Maybe I'm being dramatic, but the principle is the same. As long as I'm with you, I'll make sure no one harms you, but as a fresh Prime, you need to be careful. Yeah?" Essent nodded slowly. Tearen decided to change the subject. "...anyway, my friend's name is Jade Harley. I left by adopted daughter with her and her dog Becquerel while I was...away." Tearen said hesitantly. He didn't want to go into the horrors of the Underverse just yet with Essent. Some things were better left for a slow introduction. Jade?! - Essent Rose Allison - 05-16-2017 Quote:Jade? Jade Harley? Witch of Space Jade? Good dog best friend Jade? THAT JADE?! Essent's eyes were stars. She read Homestuck before. She barely remembers anything from it but the lore of Sburb and the basics of what happened to the kids. Now she's interested. But for now, she needs to apply her new lessons learned. She can't bug about her life, she can't be THAT type of fangirl. Just know only the name and that's it. Essent felt herself starting to act up in excitement and started to breathe deeply. She needs to calm down. She wouldn't want to ruin her first impression. Okay, recap of what she has learned:
This is gonna be one heck of an experience for Essent. Her first meeting with a favorite character. Just gotta be careful. She doesn't want to slip up when it comes to meeting Jade. RE: ==> Essent: Enter - Tearen Wover - 05-16-2017 It seemed as though the young Prime was finally beginning to grasp her situation, so Tearen decided that it would be appropriate to lay off the lectures for a little while. After all, there was no use in trying to hold Essent's hand with every step she took. He had tried the same approach with Cat, and he was fairly sure she had ended up eaten by orcs the second he let her off on her own. They exchanged casual banter for the next hour, with Tearen revealing next to no specifics about himself, as per the norm. By the time they had reached the Frozen Fields gate, the ex-enigma was fairly confident in Essent's competence. The gate loomed over them, hideously silent as always. Tiny fragments of crystal glittered in the blue, glacial ice, picking up the eerie incandescence of whatever energy powered the dimensional portal. Tearen glanced down at the Fist user by his side, and noted her slightly apprehensive expression. "Gate travel can be a tad disorienting, but it's perfectly safe. Try not to overthink it." Without further ado, Tearen stepped through the whirling aperture, and vanished into a sea of whirling sensory overload. A few stomach-wrenching spatial inversions later, the Prime stepped out into the icy plain of the Frozen Fields, immediately regretting that he had not also chosen to wear something warmer. Evidently he had overestimated his wardrobe's thermal conservation properties, having worn them in two desert climates in a row. Still, he couldn't shift form for the moment, at least not until Essent came through. RE: ==> Essent: Enter - Essent Rose Allison - 05-16-2017 Quote: Essent watched as the other went through the gate like normal. Strange. Essent has never been through a portal before. SHe's never felt what it was like... But there was one thing that she can do... Jump in! "GERONIMOOOOO-" Well, this sure was strange. It feels like pins and needles are poking her all over her, her ears are slightly ringing, and everything at the moment is a flash of white light in front of her eyes. She had to squint her eyes in order to see better but to no avail. Quote: "-OOOOOOOOOO-oof!" Essent's head fell straight into the snow, a humorous entrance. She eventually pulled her head out and laughed. What a way to travel. She'll try walking next time, maybe that will work better. It worked for Tearen, right? It should work for her. And others. Essent took her hat and got up from where she landed, putting her hat back on. Essent looked around in interest and... Wow... "To be honest, this place really reminds me of home. I was born in Antarctica, after all. On my Earth, at least." She smiled as she looked around. Glaciers here and there, a sea surrounding this one, a bright sky above. It really did remind her of home. Minus the city part... The city part was... Destroyed in the Stone King incident. She's still sad about that but, well, at least she got her payback. That was good. For now, actually, because of the familiarity, she might make a home here... Sure, there might be no sandy beaches but there is snow. And water. And mountains in the distance. Those were nice views.
