[Dark Data] E-mail; Kelly MacAryn to Doctor Regal - Kelly MacAryn - 04-22-2017 Hello Doctor, My name is Kelly MacAryn. I am a Prime and I was recently recruited, for lack of a better word, to assist in your war against Nebula. I'm more than pleased to help - in fact, I consider it a solemn responsibility to do what I can to prevent this kind of (you'll please excuse my bluntness) heinous bullshit. However, I have some questions, and I was told I should contact you for clarification. 1.) Regarding Nebula's strongholds: How many are there in each verse? Are we facing multiple entrenched positions in each zone or just one centralized command per? Do we know? 2.)Regarding the other Primes recruited for this task: how are we co-ordinating? Contact info would be appreciated. 3.) What progress, if any, has already been made? When I encounter Nebula, can I expect them to already be on high alert? 4.)I've been told that the Green and the Steppes have nobody assigned to them. What does our resource-distribution look like? If you're not comfortable sharing that information for security reasons, that's fine, but otherwise I would appreciate knowing who is nearby. 5.) I've decided to head for the Tangled Green. Is there any additional information you could share about Nebula activity in that 'verse specifically? Enemy force-estimates, concerned locals - Anything will help. 6.)Regarding Nebula's reality-warping properties: how does this threat present itself? I've been told to expect that the rules I'm accustomed to may not apply in the same ways within their strongholds, but that's distressingly vague. I hope this message finds you well, and look forward to working with you to end this threat. anticipating your swift reply, Kelly MacAryn RE: [Dark Data] E-mail; Kelly MacAryn to Doctor Regal - Nebula - 04-22-2017 Ah, mister MacAryn, I am pleased to see you have agreed to assist. The more hands there are working toward beating this problem down, the better, after all. I will do my best to provide what answers I can. 1.) To the best of my knowledge, as far as my scouts and readings have been able to determine, within each verse there is only one stronghold. Perhaps a few mildly fortified and entrenched outposts, for distribution purposes, but nothing as far as any sort of centralized command aside from their primary strongholds. 2.) As far as the other primes...the ones that arrived to my lab personally have by now split off into various groups. They did not coordinate terribly well beyond that. I will provide the names of those who attended, as well as what contact information I am able to provide. 3.) Progress has been minimal. I have been keeping tabs on the ones who have departed already, and contact with nebula's forces has been made in all but one verse thus far. They appear to be aware and alerted to my attempts to rally an offense against them, but not of its specific strength. Most actions thus far appear to have been testing measures, to gauge the strength of the parties sent into each verse. Due cautious would be advised. 4.) The Tangled Green and Ashen Steppes do not have anyone currently handling the issue, correct. The Vasty Deep is, also, untended to for the moment, as far as my records show. I will send a list of which primes have gone to which verse with my report of those involved. 5.) Regarding the Tangled Green specifically...that verse has been notoriously difficult to scout. From what I have been able to gather, however, it is the least occupied, in terms of military and combat-capable forces among Nebula's ranks. The natural defenses and hostile wildlife of the verse itself appear to have been sufficient for them. That said, the enemy forces there have been adapted to the dim light and hostile environs, and are liable to use stealth, guerrilla and ambush tactics against anyone who they find a threat. It is likely they will favor high mobility, and use the environment to their full advantage. That aside...there was one rumored report of a lone individual who broke through the line and into Nebula's stronghold proper. If he is still alive, he may be a valuable asset against their forces, if you can find him. And a troubling rumor has also reached me...detailing something lurking in the darkness of Nebula's stronghold that even they fear. Something born out of the corruption they bring unintentionally. I've no idea what it is, but if they are afraid of it, it must be terrible, indeed. 6.) That is one thing I have little information on. I must apologize for that being vague, but what little information I have I will attempt to explain. As I am sure you are aware of, the Omniverse itself works in strange ways. Things do not function as they did before, as you were no doubt familiar with. You may have been weakened, or perhaps even strengthened upon your arrival here, with new powers, or gaining them back in unexpected ways. The overwhelming corruption and dark influence of Nebula's forces, in their strongholds and at the heart of their power, twists even those bizarre rules. Certain rules -- the omniphysics, if you will -- are bent and malformed. Certain supernatural abilities or powers you have may cease to function. You may find yourself with new abilities you did not have before. The air may be toxic, gravity may work in reverse, you may be able to walk on water but sink into solid ground. Reality and common sense may not always abide by the rules as they do normally. Beyond that I can say very little. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Greatly appreciating your assistance, Doctor Regal |
