Starting Lineup - Jack Darby - 03-29-2017

Warren Zimmer didn’t like surprises, to say the least. When he awoke to find himself in a void of perpetual blackness many theories came upon his mind. Did he die somehow in an accident in the lab? Had the Guardians successfully defeated him? Had Sudden Death killed him? Had Drop Kick killed him? Had he kicked the bucket? Those questions were quickly silenced as he noticed a white grinning biped who had began speaking the moment he appeared in the Black Void. The individual mentioned his name was Omni, and that the place reflected the wishes of those who were in it, but there were rules. Great, rules. As the Quarterback of Chaos, it was his job to skirt the rules and break them. Abiding by them did not make the Quarterback of Chaos very happy to say the least. Warren was about ready to tear Omni limb from bloody limb.

But what the individual said next made him pause, for a moment.  When he was handed a rainbow colored orb, Warren looked it over for several moments. Was this Omni individual high? Oh. To bring him here did require power like that of a God and if Omni had that power Warren planned on holding his interest, at least until he was strong enough to do something about the individual. But what could he do about the individual? Warren no longer had the skills he needed in order to battle his enemies correctly. It was disgusting how much he had fallen.

“Damn it!”

The situation had called for cursing his enemies out to say the least.

“I’ll send that rejected toaster to the scrap pile for this.”  He said, when the dark void faded into pure white. His eyes had a hard time adjusting to the pure white, but then he made out several gates. Noticing the one with the armored troopers around them, Warren thought about it. That was probably the place with the most technology. Building his lab again was going to require some serious equipment for himself, and so he was likely to discover what he needed there.

A sword perhaps was needed by him, if… no when he had the resources to build such. Crafting weapons required a delicate touch, which he was incapable of without a fully stocked lab. Words couldn’t describe how angry that the Quarterback of Chaos was. His world had been ripped from him and he had nothing in this strange new world that he was in.

But then searing pain hit him like a ton of bricks, and memories flooded his mind. He had been here before. So he had been brought back by Omni for a “Round Two” of humiliation, and problems caused by the Empire. Should they stop him from building a sword this time around, he was going to murder each and every last one of them.  Frowning as he walked towards the Gate with the soldiers around it, Warren made up his mind on several things. One, he was not going to repeat any of the mistakes that he had made previously while in this dimension for any reason whatsoever. Second that he was going to be prepared to deal with any of the threats of the Omniverse.

Drop Kick was not around, so he couldn't turn the robot into a scrap-heap for this.

Drop Kick was not around, and so couldn’t be turned into the scrapheap. Thinking about it, Warren considered the situation. Why had he been brought here against his will again? Playing in this place again was boring, to say the least. Originally he had not wanted to even come here, and now such feelings had doubled, no quintupled. His desire to be him was exactly nigh, nill, zip and zero. Irritating was not the word to describe his feelings about being in the Omniverse again. No, boiling over was the right term. Forcing himself to take a moment, Warren paused and had taken a deep breath, calming his rage before it was able to consume him this time around. Unlike the past, he was not going to make the mistakes that he had then. Building a Laser Sword was not going to be as difficult, nor was he going to have to clean the vehicles of the Empire. Several of the mistakes that he had made in the past could be avoided easily, now that he had some memory of what he had done in the past.

Sure he had a splitting headache, but he could do so again. Summoning up an advil he took it and used Omnilium to make it take effect immediately curing his headache. Well not curing it, but it had made the pain manageable so he could concentrate. What did he need to do? Well his schedule had been blank previously when he was here. But building his home anew was probably essential. After all he had a lot of work to do in order to ensure his survival. Continuing the trek towards the gate that led into Coruscant, he allowed himself a faint smile.

"This should be a piece of cake, now that I actually know what I am doing. "

A couple of hours later,  Warren had proceeded through the gate into Coruscant.
