Better than the Badlands - Vash - 05-08-2018 Vash stepped into the savanna, immediately amazed by the presence of vegetation. like a kid in a candy store he excitedly walked around, gawking at the trees and grass outside of a controlled environment. Gaining his composure, he looked around for any signs of settlement in the area, seeing nothing, he searched for a water source in hopes of preparing for a journey into the sandy steppes beyond. As Vash approached a slowly thickening mass of brush he began to move slowly. Hearing the movement of something under the scrub brush, he pulled out his signature silver revolver and pointing it at the source of the noise. Suddenly, an oversized boar charged at him, perhaps the size of a man if standing upright with thick muscle across its entire body. Firing once at the tusk, knocking it to the side and the rest of the boar's path with it. not to be deterred, the boar bounded toward Vash, slamming into him with its side. As it approached Vash shot it in the outstretched leg, causing the impact to lessen and its attempt at recovering from the fall into a complete failure as it rolled across the ground after a loud thud. it attempted to get up, a hole in its right foreleg and the corresponding left twisted from the fall, but to no avail. Vash approached it, pitying the suffering animal, likely defending its territory, he didn't have enough time to attempt to save it from the harm. putting pressure on the wound with his cybernetic arm to allow him to focus on creating a bandage, after a couple minutes he bound the leg after soothing the boar's constant struggling. He gathered some sticks from a nearby tree and used the excess fabric to bind them together into a makeshift splint, fastening it to the boar after setting the leg back into place. getting up alerted vash of the likely cracked bone from the hulking beast ramming into him. walking to the small body of water nearby, Vash took the empty water pouch he had on him and filled it, then began foraging for food. Best not to waste this omnillium if it's as valuable as he was led to believe. Now he just had to rest up for his bones to heal. At least it was better than the badlands. RE: Better than the Badlands - Vash - 05-10-2018 Vash rested under a short tree, Staring up at the sky he thought, " I wonder what Wolfwood and the insurance girls would think about this place? Trees, grass, and water everywhere, Even in a place that's supposed to be a desert." Taking a sip of his water, he drifted off into sleep, thinking of what he had been forced to leave behind. "...sh...ash...Vash. VASH!" "Woah! I'm up, I'm up!" "You got cleared of your bounty after saving so many lives and the first thing you do is get some damn donuts?!?" "Hey! For your information donuts are the most heavenly food among all forms of sustenance. A pretty lady like you should understand exactly what I mean. Besides, why are you still following me around?" "Mellie, the company, and I all agree that even without a bounty you're still a huge hazard to the public and our policy holders." "Oh come on, I swear I'll be good just don't hurt me, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?" "You and I both know that we have to do this, It's not like I want to have to suffer being around you for so long anyways." "at least admit you just want to dote over me, I'm quite flattered such a serious and beautiful lady would care so much but alas this love is forbi- OW! you didn't have to hit me..." "I most certainly did!" "You know, I had the weirdest dream, I was forced into this alternate dimension, and then there were all of these plants, and then a boar came at me, and I went pow! and it went blam! and I broke something and it was so weeeeeird!" "If you're going to talk about something explain it clearly you airhead!" Vash opened his eyes, Having those insurance girls around sure was fun. Regardless, he needed to get done preparing for the journey ahead and heal up, though it felt like he already nearly finished recovering even though he didn't use his plant powers. however, he ignored that for now and used some omnillium to create a small sack to carry rations, which he also spent time foraging to make, hopefully a bush, root, or two would present themselves. RE: Better than the Badlands - Vash - 05-11-2018 Vash laid on the ground, exhausted from spending an entire day collecting edible plants. His eyes heavy from the exertion of the task, However, He needed an actual place to sleep, a full rest without so much as a roof was likely to cause some problems. Vash rose up. carrying himself to the source of the distant smoke, he realized he wouldn't make it there by nightfall he decided to make at the very least a tent to protect himself from the elements at dusk, somehow instinctively knowing he was no longer deathless and would need it. When he finished summoning the tarp and such, Vash noticed the smoke was closer than it should have been, as if it was not just him approaching the smoke, but the smoke also approaching him. Alarm bells sounded like sirens in his head, consuming his thoughts like wildfire. He began to hear shouts, like bickering in the distance. He doused the fire with the tarp and threw the camp into disarray as if it were left in a hurry, then tossed his jacket off and under a bush. bringing himself down under the scrub. One of the men who had come with a huge nose ring shouted in anger of being thwarted so soon, "What the fuck is this? Who the hell starts a fire and just leaves in less than an hour?!" "I don't know but let's find out, this looks like a one man camp to me." Another, with long, dangling earlobes replied. "shut up! both of you!" said the smallest of the bunch, though his head was slightly deformed as if his skull was putty and someone filled it with water while he was upside-down. "He obviously knew we were coming, look for tracks and figure out where he went." the other two began clumsily stamping around, looking for what must be tire treads, because otherwise the dust they kicked up would fill up any depression in the dirt. As they did this, Vash got a look at what they were carrying. The big guys had a hatchet and revolver each, the smaller one was only carrying a knife. Well, now what they are going to either end up combing through the brush or giving up. Vash thought, resenting the buffoons' stupidity. and so he waited, pulling out his Long Colt revolver in case he had to take care of the situation. |
