Blizzard of questions. - Albert Wesker - 09-17-2014 So, after doing some looking around and thinking over some things, I realized I have a few questions about things I'm curious about or planning to implement. Some of these are for snow cone here, some are for NPCs I have plans for later, and some are for....other things. It should mostly be obvious which are which, but they should all be general enough. First up: Logia State. How do? My understanding is that, as a bare minimum, Malleability is needed. That and maybe Disassemble. But my question is how would you go about letting attacks pass through you? Just RP that out well enough, following the mechanics of the powers? I would asusme so, but clarification never hurts anything. Also, about things like instinctively turning into elemental form, or letting an enemy's attack itself shatter/blast/scatter someone into their elemental form, would that just be available to someone with a high enough SPD to do it almost instanteneously, or could special applications be made to transform mid-attack and reduce the damage from incoming attacks by dispersing from their impact? Or would that be something else entirely? Again, just for clarification. Secondly: NPC submission. How do? I realize there's a thread for NPC submissions, but once they've been posted, what do? Is there some kind of okay that's needed, or can they just be used right away? On a similar note, is there any hard and fast limit to how many can be submitted? For instance, I have a "crew" of 4 NPCs who operate as a kind of organized crime ring, but also work on their own enough that they're distinct and seperate characters, and generally considered so complex, serpentine and redundant in their schemes and workings that they're either competent to a hilariously pointless degree or completely incompetent, with little middle ground. Would that be too many, or would a general submission of the "Crew" work, or....what? I do plan to have them be publicly available for anyone to get involved with their crazy shenanigans, and would like them to be "official" NPCs, I suppose is the word, if at all possible, but whatever is the call on this is what I'll do. Thirdly: Group Super Attacks. What do? I guess the first part of this question is to ask if it's even possible at all. Taking the Crew from my previous question into account, they have two techniques that require all four of them to use succesfully. So the question is: Could two (or more) characters combine their abilities and pool SP into a stronger Super Attack? Like two characters spending 2 SP each for a Tier 2 combinaiton attack? Or something along those lines. I do have more questions but they slip my mind at the moment. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Proto Man - 09-17-2014 Kuzan Wrote:Secondly: NPC submission. How do? The NPC Submission thread is where people can post their ideas for site NPCs. If approved, those NPCs would become part of the Omniverse canon. If you want to create your own NPCs who are Primes, you just need to run it by a staff member. There's a limit of two, pending any extenuating circumstances (see the NPC section of the Roleplaying Process). There is no limit to NPC Secondaries. You can have as many as you want. I have several Re: Blizzard of questions. - Proto Man - 09-17-2014 Kuzan Wrote:Thirdly: Group Super Attacks. What do? As it stands, there is no way to combine SP of various characters, especially between PCs and NPCs. For what you said above, I would recommend creating a Summon or an Attack Super Move that would serve the same purpose. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Omni - 09-17-2014 Quote:First up: Logia State. How do?You need to follow the rules of our powers, which means you may be limited somewhat particularly in regards to speed and being 'naturally' made of ice. Obviously there is extra stuff you can do with moves so I'd think of individual applications and go from there. Quote:Thirdly: Group Super Attacks. What do? I have no plans to make a system for that, but you're welcome to unofficially 'combine' two super moves by using them at once. Edit:beaten Re: Blizzard of questions. - Albert Wesker - 09-18-2014 Thank you both for the answers and clarifications, gentlemen. And as it so happens, I have remembered one of the other questions I had when first posting this. On the subject of Integration... I understand the concept of merging with inanimate objects, and strengthening and augmenting yourself as a result. But what about merging in the opposite direction? Such as, say, instead of absorbing a boulder, you merge with it and emerge on its opposite side, or elsewhere along its surface? Or doing the same with a wall, the ground, etc? I've seen this abound in one form or another around and about and thought I'd ask, just for the possibilities it might open up. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Omni - 09-18-2014 That's possible, yes. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Ganondorf - 09-18-2014 On the subject of Group Moves, I have a possible solution: all characters wishing to participate would need Fusion (at the level required for the number of participants) and a Super Move matching that of all other users, specified to be a combo move. Basically, instead of fusing bodies, you'll be fusing a Super Move. Personal thoughts on it would be that the fused move would require the SP of the regular multiplied by the number of users. The end product would be a move requiring a Super Move of that multiplied value to defend against. basically, I like the epic scope of Fused Moves. Omni may rule that I suck and this idea sucks, but it seems balanced, from my take. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Monkey D. Luffy - 09-18-2014 That seems extraordinarily costly for a very circumstantial move. Why can't all participants just initiate their super moves simultaneously and roleplay them as combining together? If all users were gunning for the same enemy to begin with, the end result would be the same regardless. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Ganondorf - 09-18-2014 It was meant to be sorta circumstantial. Technically, it costs the same as using all those moves consecutively, +fusion. The benefit is that by using them "together", you increase the power. ie: 5 tier 1 Super Moves can be blocked by 5 tier 1 Super Moves. a 5 person Fused Move would count as a Tier 5 Super Move, requiring a Tier 5 Super Move to block it. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Illidan Stormrage - 09-19-2014 While I like the idea, it has the potential to cause hugely unfair circumstances for the player on the other end. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Roger Smith - 10-12-2014 Commandeering my own questions topic on my other account because reasons. Because I am a dumb and hit Submit instead of Preview on a post, could I get someone with the appropriate powers to change the [/i] code to the [/b] it's supposed to be in here? It should be fairly obvious where the error in the code is, but, for ease of finding it I suppose, Quote:Trying to remember what brought a terrible pain to his head, and he clamped both hands to his helmet, shaking his head furiously. He didn't want[/i] to remember that! That is the errant code I typo-ed. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Harry Dresden - 10-12-2014 I'll knock that out for ya. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Roger Smith - 11-03-2014 Bringing this back up for something that completely slipped my mind for a while. In his intro thread, dear Artorias here assaulted a group of Stormtroopers -- without provocation, no less -- and killed and injured several of them before they both broke off and fled for one reason or another. Now for a question that relates to what slipped my mind: Can I get a bounty for this? It has bearing on something I have planned later on. Re: Blizzard of questions. - Sarah_Kerrigan - 11-03-2014 Unless Omni overrules me, I read through your intro and yes that would warrant a bounty being placed on Artorias once those Stormtroopers returned to Coruscant. |
