Switching: Gaige -> Sun Ogong - Dr. McNinja - 01-06-2017

(He's only about 4 feet tall)

Character name: Sun Ogong

Character source: 마법천자문 series

Character history: Ogong is a monkey, apparently, though he appears more human than anything else. He has a disdain for authority, and only respects those stronger than him. All he really ever cares about is whether or not he's stronger than someone. He was born from a large rock on Flower Mountain Island Here his sheer strength got him respect among the other monkeys, making him chief. Little did he know, strength would not be enough, for his world was brimming with magic. A master of magic visited his monkey village. The monkeys, as they were accustomed to, attacked the master, who promptly kicked their asses. Ogong, amazed that an old man could beat him, asked the old man to train him.

After some brief adventures, the master agreed and taught him the art of calligraphy magic. If you had the mental/spiritual capacity to do so, you could summon anything so long as you knew the correct Chinese character for it. Ogong, being the main character of the series, turns out to have a great deal of affinity towards calligraphy magic. Unfortunately, before Ogong could fully cultivate his magical abilities, a dream came to him of a man with a blank face.

Starting Proficiencies (2600): Physical Strength (1000), Ranged (1000), Ranged Materialize (600)

Starting Powers (700): Basic Super Jumping (300), Master Acrobat (400)

Starting Moves (1800):
1. Hwa (Fire) - 300 (Requires Ranged)
Ogong conjures the character for fire in mid-air, summoning a small fireball with a radius of 5 cm. It takes two seconds to prepare this move. This fireball can keep burning for five seconds in his hand, or until Ogong throws it. Once it's thrown, it travels 5 meters before dissipating. It does considerable damage.

2. Poong (Wind) - 300 (Requires Ranged)
Ogong conjures the character for wind in mid-air, summoning a powerful gust of wind. The wind can knock an average person of average strength and weight off their feet, but does no damage. The wind is more or less instantaneous, meaning that it is not a constant gust of wind, but one quick burst. Its effective range is 3 meters.

3. Soo (Hand) - 300 (Requires Physical Strength, Ranged Materialize)
Ogong conjures the character for hand in mid-air, summoning a big-ass dark-grey arm from the ground behind him. The hand is 120x200 cm, and the arm is two meters long - in other words, the effective range of this spell is 2 meters. It takes 3 seconds to cast this spell. Once cast, the hand attempts to slam the target for above average damage. However, you only get one shot - the hand disappears shortly after the slam. Furthermore, as the hand is a projection of Ogong's own hand, any damage incurred to the arm will be carried to Ogong.

4. Yoe-Pil - 300 (Requires Physical Strength)
Technically a staff, this is a sentient and talking "brush" in the sense that it facilitates the use of calligraphy magic. Every Chinese character, all 100,000+ of them, is inscribed on the inside of the staff. (It works because it's magic okay) As you can see, it's usually pretty wiggly and will squiggle emotes at you. In combat, though, Yoe-pil is a straight, metal staff just short of 1.5 meters long and with a radius of 3 cm. It acts like Thor's hammer Mjolnir - only Ogong can lift it.

SUPER ATTACK - Bawl-Saw (Shoot) - 600 (Requires Ranged)
Ogong conjures the two characters above in sequence for 8 seconds, causing them to appear in mid-air. Ogong then makes a finger-gun gesture. A powerful blast of energy shoots out from his fingertips, traveling super fast for 20 meters before dissipating. It does a massive amount of damage. However, this attack uses a lot of Ogong's concentration.

RE: Switching: Gaige -> Sun Ogong - Mark - 01-06-2017

Hwa: Can this be used while moving? Does this require concentration to charge and/or maintain? How draining is it? Can it be used with other moves?

Poong: Does this have a cast time or can he fire the burst without preparation? Can this be used while moving or does he need to stand still? How draining is this? Can it be used alongside other moves? You won’t need Ranged Proficiency for this, but you will need Area Attack.

Soo: Can this be maintained while moving or does he need to stand still while using it? Does it require concentration to maintain or will it stick around until the slam regardless of incoming attacks? How draining is this? Can it be used with other moves? You’ll need Area Attack to strike an area that large, and you won’t actually need Ranged Materialize if it can only be summoned right behind him.

Yoe-Pil: Good to go.

Bawl-Saw: Can you describe the size?

RE: Switching: Gaige -> Sun Ogong - Dr. McNinja - 01-09-2017

Starting Proficiencies (2600): Physical Strength (1000), Ranged (1000), Area Attack (600)

1. Hwa (Fire) - 300 (Requires Ranged)
After concentrating for two seconds, Ogong conjures the character for fire in mid-air, summoning a small fireball with a radius of 5 cm. This fireball can keep burning for five seconds in his hand, or until Ogong throws it. Once the fireball is summoned, Ogong can't move. Once it's thrown, it travels 5 meters before dissipating. It does considerable damage. This move is a tiny bit draining - if he uses it multiple times in succession, it will start to tire him out. No spells can be used at the same time as others.

2. Poong (Wind) - 300 (Requires Area Attack)
After concentrating for two seconds, Ogong conjures the character for wind in mid-air, summoning a powerful gust of wind. While he is casting, he may not move, but once cast, Ogong may move. The wind can knock an average person of average strength and weight off their feet, but does no damage. The wind is more or less instantaneous, meaning that it is not a constant gust of wind, but one quick burst. Its effective range is 3 meters. This move is a tiny bit draining - if he uses it multiple times in succession, it will start to tire him out. No spells can be used at the same time as others.

3. Soo (Hand) - 300 (Requires Physical Strength, Area Attack)
After concentrating for 3 seconds, Ogong conjures the character for hand in mid-air, summoning a big-ass dark-grey arm from the ground behind him. The hand is 120x200 cm, and the arm is two meters long - in other words, the effective range of this spell is 2 meters. Once the hand is summoned, Ogong may not move at all until it dissipates. Once cast, the hand attempts to slam the target for above average damage. However, you only get one shot - the hand disappears shortly after the slam. Furthermore, as the hand is a projection of Ogong's own hand, any damage incurred to the arm will be carried to Ogong. This move is barely draining - it just takes a while to summon and it's clunky to manipulate. No spells can be used at the same time as others.

SUPER ATTACK 1 - Bawl-Saw (Requires Ranged)
Ogong conjures the two characters above in sequence for 8 seconds, causing them to appear in mid-air. Ogong then makes a finger-gun gesture. A powerful blast of energy the size of a 50 cal bullet shoots out from his fingertips, traveling super fast for 20 meters before dissipating. It does a massive amount of damage. However, this attack uses a lot of Ogong's concentration. No spells can be used at the same time as others.

RE: Switching: Gaige -> Sun Ogong - Mark - 01-10-2017

Hwa: I think there needs to be a change in regards to the drain vs the damage dealt. Being that it’s relatively short range and small (easier to dodge, I’d imagine), I’m cool with it being lower cost/higher damage, I’m just a little iffy with the tiny drain and considerable damage. If you wanted to make it like moderate damage/small drain or somewhat draining/considerable damage, I’d be fine with that. If you want to change anything else in the move to balance that would also be fine.

Soo, Poong, and Bawl-Saw are good.
