[Switching] Jon Snow to Darth Vader - Darth Vader - 12-31-2016 (I personally request that all my OM's reset here so I can start right back at Level 1, rather than keeping a portion of my current OM as is the current ruling - it's chill if that ain't possible but I'd like to start from the very, very beginning with this guy.) Character name: Darth Vader Character source: Star Wars (the canon material - none of the material from legends or the non-canon EU) Character history: Anyone who's ever seen Star Wars already knows it. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Anakin_Skywalker This Vader's being pulled right from the conclusion of his final scene in Rogue One; A Star Wars Story. Physical Description: ![]() Stats: ATK: 3 DEF: 4 SPD: 1 TEC: 2 Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength (1000 OM) Ranged Proficiency (1000 OM) Remote Control Proficiency (600 OM) Ranged Materialize Proficiency (600 OM) Starting Powers: Telekinesis (Basic, 400 OM) Starting Moves: Red Lightsaber (600 OM) (requires Physical Strength) ![]() The essential weapon of every Sith - the lightsaber is a laser sword capable of cutting through almost everything, from sentient human limbs to the most solid of steels. Vader's lightsaber is a staggering 119 centimetres in length, with the metal hilt being 28 cm in total and the crimson energy beam being 91 cm. It's equipped with a dual-phase function, which allows the length of the blade to be manually lengthened to reach the height of a Zweihander. The only drawback to the futuristic, advanced sword is that Vader can grow quite drained/fatigued after swinging it around blindly for too much time, making his strikes with the blade weaker. Saber Throw (300 OM) (requires Ranged Proficiency, Telekinesis) Vader pulls his lightsaber-arm backward for a second before launching it forth again, grip of his saber releasing to toss it in a boomerang-esque fashion towards his opposition. The saber will spin and cut through the air in a horizontal fashion, and would glide just as fast as a thrown ball, as an example. The sabre would slice and scald anyone unfortunate enough to be in the swords way as it glides through the air. After about 3 seconds (or making contact with a target) the lightsaber would return to Vader's hand, just as it was before he threw it. Vader must be in a stationary position whilst tossing the sabre, though he may move a few steps forth whilst the blade is in the air. Force Push (600 OM) (requires Ranged Proficiency, Telekinesis) Placing his hand forward, Darth Vader would begin to concentrate utilising his power in the force to push his opponent back a couple of feet. This move would take about a split second to perform but, however, Vader can choose to take an additional four seconds to charge up his force push to be more powerful and destructive, a torrent capable of hurling back certain enemies up to a couple of metres, all depending on their size, stature and proximity in comparison to the blast. Force Push will affect anyone with five feet of Vader's proximity - anyone further away than that will feel little effect, apart from (potentially) stumbling backward a few steps by the rogue wind. Vader can move freely when performing an uncharged force push, but in order to charge the move he must be in a stationary position. I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Where did you find us? Need I even answer this? I've been here for quite a while hahaha RE: [Switching] Jon Snow to Darth Vader - Amaterasu - 12-31-2016 A very brief note, you forgot to note the requirements next to your moves. Fixed - thank ya kindly for letting me know about that. RE: [Switching] Jon Snow to Darth Vader - Jade Harley - 01-03-2017 Quote:Red Lightsaber (300 OM) (requires Physical Strength) How long is the blade? Is there a drawback at all (people get fatigued from swinging swords around a lot)? Also, maybe try describing the sounds the saber emits and what it's like to wield it/be up close and personal with it! Otherwise, you're good. EDIT: OH AND if you want there to be a lengthened and shortened version, you'll have to make it 600. That's variable. Quote:Saber Throw (300 OM) (requires Ranged Proficiency, Telekinesis) Awesome! How fast would you say the saber moves as it flies through the air? (Fast as a thrown ball or slower? Arrow? Bullet?) This makes it easier to gauge if a character can believably dodge it! Also, would you say that Vader has to focus a lot to conduct this move, like he's unable to do a saber-toss while moving around (ie, must he remain stationary)? Is it difficult to aim? Can it be paired with other moves? Be sure to add some sort of drawback, like mental/physical fatigue/stamina drain! Quote:Force Push (600 OM) (requires Ranged Proficiency, Telekinesis) For what I have bolded/underlined, please specify the minimum time and the maximum time that Vader can charge this for. Also, since the actual effects of the move are determined by stats, please change "back a couple of metres" to "up to a couple of metres"! Aaaand, right now it says feet for the charged attack and meters for the normal attack. Since meters are larger than feet, I'd suggest reversing your wording. Is this a precise attack that needs to be aimed, or just a wave of force that doesn't need to be aimed? If it's the latter, I'll need an area of effect measurement. Can it be combined with other moves? Does he have to concentrate to perform a Force Push? Must Vader remain stationary to do a Force Push? What's the range on this-- does the distance of his opponent from Vader alter the move's effects at all (would it be weaker hitting an opponent that is further way)? This needs some drawbacks, too! Is Vader fatigued when he performs this move/is there a stamina drain? RE: [Switching] Jon Snow to Darth Vader - Jade Harley - 01-05-2017 Are you positive that you want to start again at 5000 OM? Vader's spent OM is 5100 with what you have so far, so you have gone over the limit. The OM reset is possible, but since you would ordinarily be able to start with more than the regular 5000 due to the switch, would you like to start with 5100 instead? Quote:It's equipped with a dual-phase function, which allows the length of the blade to be manually altered (lengthened or shortened). So are there two or three size settings? It's +300 OM to the cost for each different length the saber can be. There also needs to be some kind of explanation for the measurements, like this: "shortened from the length of a normal longsword down to a dagger, or extended to that of a zweihander". RE: [Switching] Jon Snow to Darth Vader - Darth Vader - 01-06-2017 Ah damn - I forgot to calculate my total spent OM and I didn't realise that the extra +300 OM put me over the limit. But yeah, let's just say I start at 5100. Also updated the description for the lightsaber move as requested. RE: [Switching] Jon Snow to Darth Vader - Jade Harley - 01-06-2017 Approved!
