IC State of Emergency - Vasty Deeps and Ashen Steppes - Omni - 07-17-2017
While the world at large has been jacking off to fancy fights, the dark power that has been threatening to consume entire verses has been left entirely unchecked.
As a result, the Vasty Deeps and Ashen Steppes are now suffering from extremely large-scale attacks by darklings (secondaries corrupted by dark power) and darkspawn (beings of pure dark power). It's enough that the Empire has dispatched large-scale forces to the Vasty Deeps to try and stop them, and are currently undergoing a huge naval battle between Admiral Kizaru's naval fleet and waterborne darkspawn and darkling-possessed boats.
In particular, Blue Flame Island has been totally ravaged and nearly wiped out, with survivors hiding and most of the island completely overrun and possessed, forming the core of the fleet fighting the Empire. Sabaody Archipelago is undergoing a similar process, with the Empire totally preoccupied and thus cut off from helping.
In the Ashen Steppes, the Koopa Kingdom are holding back the forces of darkness, but at great cost and with little chance of surviving as things stand. If not helped soon, they will soon form another core of Nebula's armies.
If going to these verses, be aware of the state of things.

Just to be clear, since I know there is a beach party on: the warzone is at the centre of the verse and won't have reached the edges yet (Costa Del Sol). But where it is, it is bad >_>

Shawn didn't specify, so use your creativity/imagination. Mostly I've roleplayed them along the usual lines of "covered in black/purple veins, red/black eyes, feral as fuck", etc

As a follow-up, all Faction Quests in these affected verses are 'turned off' for the duration of the darkling attacks. It goes without saying that the powers that be are going to be busy saving their asses rather than putting scrubs on boats or organizing kart races. If you want to help the verse out, go stop the cyber-invasion.

Sigh, can I have Dama and Isabelle charge in to defend the Steppes? It's not a conflict of interest if characters from multiple accounts join in? I mean, this is the end of a verse as we know it.

I'm a bit confused. Having read the OOC DD threads, it looks like I need to sign up to take part in this? Is that still the case and if so, how/where do I do that? If not, where do I go to start punching/melting Darklings?

As stated, only one character at a time per player. The elevated state of emergency hasn't changed that.

If i have two characters in verses that will most likely be having to deal with these guys, do i avoid contact with one or the other or can one go for the boss while the other simply fights minions while travelling?
