World of white - Summer - 11-22-2016 Well, this is inconvenient. Chronoire Schwarz VI pursed her lips, eyes darting over the plain scenery as she slowly turned about, taking everything in. The short redhead wasn’t quite sure what to make of all this. The background was incredibly uninspired save for the one magnificent, two-tiered fountain she had appeared next to, letting loose a constant flow of what appeared to be perfectly clean water. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. Embarrassment briefly fluttered in Chronoire’s chest. A master of space-manipulation getting caught in such an uninspired noose was demoralizing to say the least. And if this blank world had anything to say, it was that this “Omni” was quite clearly an amateur among amateurs when it came to space-distorting magic. There was no life, no color. Even the most untalented of witches came up with something that had at least some spec of personality. Still, it had apparently managed to catch her of all people, Chronoire Schwarz the Sixth. Other witches used her Oceanic Noose as inspiration when they made pocket worlds. She ceased her spinning. Perhaps Omni had just overpowered her. Someone strong but unskilled would still be able to overwhelm her, even if it was only for a bit. The problem was if someone had landed her in here, it didn’t matter if she was overwhelmingly powerful or not, she’d still have to break the spell at the source. Someone would be receiving one hell of a beating if she had anything to say about it, maybe two. One to get out, and one to make sure they’d learned their lesson. Her gaze continued to creep around the endless white. Easier said than done. Actually finding her way out of this was going to some luck. Though there was always the tried and true option of “walk in a random direction and hope it works out” which is usually the best when you’re faced with such a vast nothing. It just so happened that in her case, she didn’t have to walk, Sebas could easily carry her. “Sebas~” Chronoire sang, her lips turning up into a bright smile. Her request was met with absolutely nothing. The witch’s smile drooped a bit as she cast another quick glance around. It quickly became apparent that there was no sign of her giant crocodile familiar. She couldn’t help but grin at that, even though everything was most definitely not going according to plan. Omni had apparently managed to grab her and leave Sebas when he tightened the noose. Selecting your victims so precisely requires a bit of skill. Perhaps he was an idiot savant or something of the like. Still, it was only a minor setback. Chronoire called upon her power, a familiar mantle settling upon her shoulders and a comforting hat fitting over her head. She swung her arm forward, all it would take is a little bit of magic and... nothing apparently. Chronoire frowned, even in a pocket world she should be able to call upon her familiar. She gave it another go, with a quick gesture, swinging her arm in front of her while digging into her magic, and again to no avail. There was no reason it shouldn’t be working, she reasoned. Her cape and hat had appeared just fine. She cast a quick glance down towards her waist. So did her dagger, which she most certainly had not been carrying around when she got trapped here. As she had learned the hard way, people in modern Japan didn’t take kindly to you openly carrying weaponry of any kind, so she made a point to not summon it unless it was necessary. She thought back to Omni’s opening words, where he had been muttering something about omnilium. That talk had been swiftly disregarded since even in a pocket world you couldn’t just rewrite the laws of physics. Things still behaved within reasonable bounds. There was just no reason that this so called omnilium should be a thing, or that it dictated your very existence within this world. Though she supposed there was no reason not to test it out, better to find out sooner rather than later. Chronoire began to concentrate. Not in the same way she had been, in the attempts that resulted in a whole lot of nothing, but more of a general feeling of wishing for something. That was how it had been described in her abductor’s opening speech. She wished for Sebas. Surely her giant, well-dressed crocodile would be a boon in this world. Especially if she stuck around long enough that she got hungry. He knew how to cook. A familiar, iridescent material flowed out in front of the witch, slowly coalescing, forming into something between a solid and a liquid. The omnilium gathered, shaping into the silhouette of her crocodile companion. It took much longer than what she could do with magic, but it nonetheless formed her familiar after a deal of time, and with the shape finally complete, the colorful iridescence faded away into the green, reptilian coloring of Sebas. Clad in a grey business suit with a similarly colored boater atop his head, the crocodilian familiar stood bipedal and easily twice as tall as Chronoire. “Hello Sebas,” she said sweetly, “It took a lot of work to get you here.” Sebas didn’t immediately reply, shifting around to take in the new and unusual scenery just like what his master had done not minutes before. “Thank you for calling upon me,” he responded politely once he had his bearings. “But where, might I ask, is here?” “That’s a good question!” Chronoire answered, turning away from her familiar to gaze out upon the endless white void in front of them. “Who is this witch named ‘Omni?’” “Pardon?” came the voice of Sebas from behind her. “Omni is the one who trapped me in this world,” her voice dripped with venom. “Tell me Sebas, does that name sound familiar?” “I can not say it does,” he responded, deferential, as if apologizing for not knowing. “I say we find out then,” she said, eyes falling upon a scuffling group not too far in the distance. The witch turned back to her familiar with a devilish grin on her face. The crocodile easily hoisted his master onto his shoulder, and the two made their way towards the kerfuffle. |
