A Fine City - Desman Black - 11-22-2016 After an hour or two of walking in the openness of the rest of Camelot, Des finally came to a sign of life. The stary sky illuminated the walls just right as the robot entered the city the clustered buildings reminding him of his appartment in the city, but still feeling rather old becurse of the materials used to build them. A.N.N.A was the first of the duo to comment on the senery, thinking of it as a mavel to behold, of course they was one question on Des's mind. 'Why is nobody staring at us? With a culture this old, without a sign of technology, wouldn't a short metal man of one eye and wheels, do something.' 'Well, there isn't no sign of technology, there's a pair of headphones in the bin over there, but you are right, it is strange.' A.N.N.A's tone jumped from curiosity to dread. 'I sense something from the way we just came...' RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 12-05-2016 This is certainly a drastic change from the hub they called the Nexus. Yuki walked along a pathway from the portal and looked around her surroundings. There were gleaming white walls that reflected the brilliant light of day almost as if it were akin to the first freshest blankets of snow itself. Strange how familiar this feels at the same time.. It isn't. She stopped to notice two figures just a few steps ahead of her. Perhaps they knew more of this place? They didn't seem to match the overall aesthetics of the area but she shouldn't be judging on looks. RE: A Fine City - Desman Black - 12-08-2016 "Hey you!" Desman spins around to face the person behind him, "Who are you and why were you doing following me? Are you in league with this 'Omni' fellow? If you are you can tell him that I don't appreciate him taking me out of my own timestream, and that I will find a way back." It was then Des remembered something "Oh, and also to make sure to sort out this place" He said pointing to the headphones in the bin. RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 12-11-2016 The person's sudden turn to her made her jump a little from surprise. Though.. The way they went about things felt... Rude? Who exactly did they think they were to accuse her of following them and to order her around as if they were of a higher rank? So much for finding help.... Yuki crossed her arms and glared at this person. "I'm not following you. It only seemed we were heading to a similar point of interest as it is a major place where people seem to be gathering. I don't know who this "Omni" is nor do I know much of this world." Her eyes narrowed. "Furthermore, how dare you order me around like some maid to do your bidding." It seemed this person knew more about things than she did, despite how disrespectful they were being. She secretly hoped the being didn't treat everyone they met like this... RE: A Fine City - Desman Black - 12-15-2016 'They don't know about Omni.' 'They could be lying.' 'Who would lie about knowing a god?' 'You would.' True... but we probably do need some allies here.' After grapping the headphones Des continued talking in a much freindlier tone, lowering his voice as he got closer to the light-blue haired women. "Sorry about that, it's just that you're the 2nd person I've seen today, well... since I came here, It seems like I haven't been here for more then a day, but time also seems distorted here." Des lifts the hand with the headphones up, "Probably whoever left these in this primitive dimension. Heck, more likely the person who allowed me to enter such a primitive dimension." Des tosses the headphones back in the bin before raising his other hand. "Name's Des by the way, do you have a name? I assume you have a name but it gets complicated when traveling though space-time." RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 12-25-2016 What was this? A sudden change in attitude...very sudden. Yuki grew suspicion of their sudden kindness. "My name's Shion.", she said. She had no reason to trust this person as of yet, and lied about her name. However, she gave no indication it was a lie, as it was said quite naturally. She believed in the ideology of knowing one's true name held a power to it, a curse bound to them for speaking truthfully to the wrong sort and she could never be too careful with the warnings she's gotten. Surely if this being were to have allies or friends, they'd need to learn some manners and kindness first... She sighed and stared at the headphones. They didn't seem that out of place to her. Maybe this person was a bit loose with their screws. RE: A Fine City - Desman Black - 12-25-2016 "Nice name, but from what you said earlier, we seem to be in the same boat, well unless you've never been outside your own universe before, which is a high probability, the only infomation I have is from that silhouette that brought me here, you know the Omni I mentioned, he was quite vague though." Desman lifted the photograph he created while waiting by the gate out of what looked like a lump on his mettalic back, "All I learned so far is how to create this, it's the only thing I've got to remind me of my home..." RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 12-25-2016 Home... Yuki didn't really seem to have much that reminded her of her home dimension, only the things she wore and the faint and faded memories fogged by this universe's difference and ruling. Her expression seemed to soften as the thought came to her and her gaze shifted to a point further behind Desman. "It's good you have something to remind you of home." What could she remember? Several silhouettes of familiar figures came to her, some more crisp than others. She had a lover, tall with long hair. There were two alongside his shadow, a boy and a girl. They must have been related to her..Children perhaps? There were so many others of varying sizes. A large muscular man, an even larger and more muscular man, a tall and slender woman, a few masculine figures with long hair, a couple feminine figures with masculine attributes... Yuki seemed to grow lost in thought to the figures she was remembering, gaze shifting down to the ground and only to be snapped out of it when Desman said something. RE: A Fine City - Desman Black - 12-27-2016 The tone of the robot saddened as he gave the woman he knew as shion sympathy. "Maybe I can teach you, I know what it's like, not having anything but your memories to remind you, I'd been that way for about a decade before I came here, always ending up in the wrong dimension, never being able to properly moarn the death of my brother, wandering if I'll ever see my family again." As Desman continued talking, he somehow seem to shrink like a biological being would, although no one could see how. "Sure it's not perfect, it doesn't feel the same, but it should at least get us though the next few weeks in this cluster of worlds." RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 12-27-2016 Her eyes flicked up to stare at the mechanical being. "It's a nice thought, but I'm not entirely certain I can project my memories onto photographs." Though..She once knew a mechanical being before. Desman looked nothing like him. From what Desman said, it seemed like he was a dimensional leaper, either intentionally or unintentionally and it's messed with his personal life quite badly. "Do you think it's even possible to ever see them again? ..Those important to you, I mean.", she asked, more or less asking in general that specifically to Desman. RE: A Fine City - Desman Black - 12-29-2016 "Well it is certenly possible, more then possible even, that I could see them again, though it is highly improbable that it's my version of them I will see, and even if I did, what would I say to them, we left on a pretty bad foot." Des looked back down at the photograph he was still holding in his hand, he grew sadder, he sadness turning into anger as he thought about how Nexus's death was his fault, he's the one that invited them to the beta testing as his '+1', he's the one that couldn't save him when the virus attacked, it was his fault, Des tightened his hand harder and harder untill- 'Desman stop!!' The clash shattered and the wood cracked, falling to the ground after a sudden burst, Des spoke to the girl again, but his tone had reverted back to when tgey first met, it was now obvious he was angry, "Don't ask." RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 12-30-2016 It was obvious by the overall posture of this being and his attention to the image that something involving his memories bothered him greatly. Yuki's eyes quickly darted towards the area of where she heard the noise, Desman's sudden warning to not ask made it clear that noise his doing. "No need to worry, I won't. It's fairly obvious you're not in the best of moods, and asking into it when you're not open to such a thing isn't going to get anyone anywhere.", she replied, being careful as to not upset Desman enough to attack her. She thought of diverting the conversation but... Desman was also apparently new to this cluster of realms. His past was up to him to share and it didn't seem like asking about that now was a good idea. She was at a loss as of what to do or say. ...Prosperus be kind on me today..., she pleaded quietly, recalling one of the gods from her original dimension. RE: A Fine City - Desman Black - 12-31-2016 "Thanks." was all Des was able to muster to Shion, the way see spoke, it was like they were used to this type of situation. 'Both of you.' "So how about we head inside this city, sure I like your company, but we can't learn anything from standing around and waiting, trust me, I tried" And with that our three heroes stepped inside the walls of Minas Tirith, the residents either staring at Des angerly, or completly ignoring him. "This is werid." the Robot wispered to his blue-haired companion, "Judging by the matrials and aesthetics of this place, this dimension is either dominated by magic or is still in it's post-industrial age, meaning at least some of them sould be freaking out." A little boy with bright red hair rans up to Des before insulting and kicking them, and immediately regreaghting it, hoping of in pain. "And definitely not that." RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 01-01-2017 Yuki followed Desman quietly, observing the people and their overall surroundings within the city. It was strange, the attention Desman seemed to be getting. It wasn't good attention at all. Had he done something to this place to make them hate him so prior to when she met him? She wasn't all that sure. From what he's said of his story here so far... He's only just recently been within this realm for a short time, only a little longer than she. He could have been lying, but it seemed... too genuine with his search and confusion for the primary ruler of this place. So then why... why do they show such a large amount of hatred to someone so new...? Yuki snapped out of her thought process as Desman commented, not seeming to care too much that a child ran up in attempts to physically harm him. "What do you mean?", she asked, not entirely sure what he was talking about. More of the civilians seemed to be focussing their attention to Desman than her, which was fine. But was technology of his level really such a huge taboo here? RE: A Fine City - Desman Black - 01-03-2017 "You see, everything that has ever been or will be created is meant to be balanced, good and evil, light and darkness and ying and yang are classic examples, but it applys to all things, Life and death, Brains and brawn and, of course, magic and technology. But It's not just balance though the universe, otherwise there would only be one, most of the time it's shared between more then one, which is how you get worlds dominated by a particular side. Now magic and technology are one of the few pairs that are easy to distinguise, unless, of course, it's in the early days of most technology based universes where everthing thats too complex is treated as magic, and depending on the culture, is either left alone, or killed, in both cases being feared by some of the population. But this place doesn't fallow these rules, it doesn't make sense. Desman stops walking and ponders for a moment. "In fact, none of this makes sense, people should not be able to walk in and out of demensions as they like, it would destroy space-time, unless the cluster of them were inclosed, isolated form the rest of existance, but that wouldn't work without... That's it! There must be another one of these dominated by magic, and with free range between them, it would allow them to be famillier with each other. RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 01-04-2017 Desman's words held truth in terms of opposites, Yuki knew that much for sure. Multiple dimensional traveling on the other hand... "I wouldn't say these dimensions would need strong parallels in magic to travel between them.. It may be more of a fabricated bridging that makes it easier to go from one realm to another.", she suggested, roughly referencing her own home dimension. "The gods of my home... we all had a dimension associated to our domains, each accessed by a like trait connected to the god. But this... This world feels different from something like that." Her voice trailed off thinking of the similarities and differences of travel, this world with its own rules created by a different omnipotent than the one who made her world. Of course, this series of worlds within this place seemed to be much more open in terms of who and where... A literal hub for practically anyone of any world or realm. Whereas her home was much more closed in comparison... RE: A Fine City - Desman Black - 01-09-2017 "I get your point, but these are to big to be realms, the vast open landscape that we had to cross to get to this city proves that, it it was just the city then your point chould stand. Not that we can really prove my theory either untill we go to other realms, unless. Desman presses a button on his cannon side, nothing happens, he presses it again. "Okay Desman focus." Desman blocks out the sights and sounds around him, slowly his right wrist is covered in a soft white glow, extanding slightly before the glow fades away. The robots visor lights back up, him then pressing the button to flip up a small screen. "There definitely seems to be some sort of wireless network... RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 01-10-2017 Yuki shrugged, the connection of the universes not exactly clear for her. She secretly hoped that the connections each world here seemed to hold would at eventually lead to a connection that would allow her to get back home. She looked around to still see people glaring at Desman, some more defensive now that he seemed to be doing something. "Perhaps... This isn't the best place to do that. The people here already show enough discomfort around you, and I'd rather you not get in trouble for...scanning whatever connection you're finding here.", she warned. She knew someone who was an outcast for very similar reasons to Desman back on her home dimension, they just seemed to hold so many parallels and variations at the same time. RE: A Fine City - Desman Black - 01-10-2017 "That is a good point getting out of this city does seem like a good idea, one question though, which way is out?" Desman looked around to find that with the talking, the duo hadn't relised they've been going deeper into the city , and now, Des aleast, seemed to have been lost in the city. 'Typical, you get to know one city like the back of your hand, then get lost in another.' 'I could scan the nearby area, without signaling of course.' 'Thanks, that would be helpful.'"And I don't surrpose you remember the way back, do you?" RE: A Fine City - Shiotaro Yuki - 01-12-2017 "We went generally in one direction, and regardless of direction, we'd run into the edge of the city if we just kept moving forwards." Though, admittedly, Yuki was busy thinking of her home dimension and looking around the city to see their aesthetics and the people who thrived here to really pay much attention to where she was going. "Besides, after leaving, where would we even go?", she asked, taking a curiosity of whether or not Desman actually had an idea or not of a destination. |
