Scylla - Alex - 09-03-2016

Location/Role: Scylla was the creator of the Omniverse Blight, which she attempted to use to recreate the denizens of the verse in her image, based on ancient histories from her home world.  She was eventually banished to the Underverse, where she regained her strength through slaughter in the arenas, eventually earning ‘freedom’ from the cycle of torment and agony that slaves often endure.

Story:   A human woman bore near the end of the world, Scylla lived in a place called Thedas. Formerly plagued by events called ‘Blights,’ Thedas has since spent many centuries slipping into a gradually decline brought about by shrinking resources and decreased birthrates.

Born a powerful psychic with the ability to command the elements and influence the minds of lesser folk, Scylla lived a sheltered life. She developed a love for history. In particular, she became obsessed with the stories of the various Blights. These were great times when humanity banded together to fend off its foes. Heroes rose to prominence as kingdoms were laid low. Through it all, humanity managed to flourish, much like a forest does after an annual burning.

Looking at the dying world around her, Scylla began to think that the lack of such great conflicts had led to the gradual crumbling of Thedas. But better yet… what if these darkspawn had won? What if they had been allowed to make the world over in their image? They were unitary creatures, linked to one consciousness, unlike the harsh society that shunned her as an outsider. Perhaps the darkspawn had been the heroes all along?

On one day, Scylla was brought to the Omniverse. Although momentarily confused and setback, she quickly realized what this new place had to offer her. After spending some time with the Kingdom, she also came to understand that the Omniverse had the same grievous faults as her home. Despite how unique this place was, the people still shunned her and thought of her as a freak! Were they not aware of the floating homes and green-skinned people who served their king?

In her rage, Scylla vanished into the Pale Moors. It was there that her mind returned to the histories she had read. Here, in the Omniverse, she had the power to create her own Blight. She would be the Archdemon.

And so for years her Blight slowly ravaged the Pale Moors and the Tangled Green. Elves, ninjas, humans, orcs… none of their differences mattered once they had been taken into her dark embrace. People tried to stop here—ignorant ‘heroes’ who sought to exterminate her brood as if they were vermin. All of them were swept under the rug or consumed.

That is, until the Prodigal Son of the ‘good’ doctors’ stuck his nose into her affairs. Aided by the sacrifice of one of his brothers and the efforts of the plagued Whirda Windstrom, Proto Man was able to track down where Scylla resided. There, in the shadow of the Black Gate, the robot and his allies fought against her. In the end, the Archdemon was overwhelmed and banished to the Underverse.  Without her, the darkspawn became nothing but mindless monsters roaming around the verses.

After arriving in the Underverse, Scylla found herself weak and vulnerable.  She was captured and thrown into the arenas to be bled and battered for the amusement of others.  Over time, she started to regain her strength as she feasted upon those she murdered.  In due time, she gained enough favor to be released from the gladiatorial arenas.  She now roams the Underverse with the full intent of acquiring enough power to free herself on her own terms.
