Mass deletion & OM adjusting request - Amaterasu - 11-15-2017 Coming back to the old "Cold is the Void" thread where I posted my Void Quest, that I am currently rewriting: I would like to request for all my Void Quest related posts from that thread to be deleted - which is to say, from this post on to the last post in that thread, or posts #4 through #19. I don't know how many Rest Points I spent on those posts, unfortunately. Now, I'm rewriting the quest "offline" (using some pieces from the first version) and I'm planning to post it in one go once it's finished. Could it be done so that when I'm ready to post I request for staff to set my RP to zero first, so that I don't earn double OM for it, and the OM adjustment for deleting my old posts is done according to the 'standard' algorithm, not the double OM gain? (Also: just in case, I have a raw-code backup of all the posts I am requesting to have deleted, so I don't need to have anything sent to me :frogbon: I can provide a link to the GDoc on request) RE: Mass deletion & OM adjusting request - Trixie - 11-15-2017 So you plan to retcon all of those posts? What exactly are you changing that you can't just edit into them and have us approve it? If you're planning to retcon I'm going to have to deny this request. Omni or Alex can overrule me, but if we allowed everyone to go back and change their old writing the foundations of established lore would crumble. RE: Mass deletion & OM adjusting request - Amaterasu - 11-15-2017 I plan to re-do the Void Quest from the ground up - the same quest and roughly the same scenario, but with changes happening in the detail. I don't know if that would fall under retconning though, since I understand that to be "In retrospect X never happened, and the completely different series of events Y happen instead", as opposed to "In retrospect X happened slightly differently". To be clear, I don't plan on doing something with Amaterasu "before" the rewritten Void Quest takes place. The reason why I'm rewriting everything is that the original quest was deemed unsuitable and I was recommended to restart rather than writing more words to reach the 40.000 word mark. I can of course edit each of the posts if that is easier (didn't think of that, I'll admit). But that would probably have the same retconning issue as if I deleted and reposted everything? (I forgot to ask for this in my original post, but if my posts do get deleted, could someone do an entry into my Log or PM me the total OM that was deducted?) RE: Mass deletion & OM adjusting request - Omni - 11-15-2017 Can I get a link to who actually graded your void quest and the reasoning for turning it down? I went looking but I could only find your submission post. I haven't read the whole thing but your writing in general is pretty decent, certainly enough in my opinion to merit 'Great', and with 30,000 words ... RE: Mass deletion & OM adjusting request - Amaterasu - 11-15-2017 As far as I remember Ezrihel only PMed me about it on Skype, because she found that it's not good enough to pass. She proposed that I either write up to 40k as a "You technically passed but it could have been better" pass, or I rewrite several passages with her criticisms which would also bring my required word count down. I should have the logs lying around somewhere, but I'd be more comfortable sharing them privately if you want to see them. RE: Mass deletion & OM adjusting request - Omni - 11-15-2017 Sure, I'll take a look. RE: Mass deletion & OM adjusting request - Omni - 11-15-2017 Just as a heads up, I've decided to pass Ammy on this. |
