[IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Demetri Malius - 08-30-2016 The alchemist softly trailed along the leaf-scattered jungle hills, his nose buried into one of the handmade mythological books he had made from numerous sources that he had found once arriving in the omniverse. Tiny tweets came from his pack as he mumbled. “Fire… molten rock… maybe just fish .. damn… what would one reckon a Pheonix eat?” His goggles as he looked up, thinking he heard some footsteps. Another tweet from his bag. “Yes, I hear you fiery little bird, I just need to--” A wisp of red flew out of his bag and took to the air, tweeting along. “Damn it you little troublemaker, get over here before you manage to catch something on fire again!” The alchemist’s eyes furrowed as he chased after the mythological bird, closing his book with a digit saving the page he was on. He clutched it tight to his side as he climbed over tree stumps and leaped across puddles, trying to snag the darn bird. His green eyes traced the red movement in the air, making sure to not lose sight of-- Slam! Darkness clouded the alchemist’s vision as he felt the distinct taste of wooden bark in his mouth. As well as a slight hint of blood. “Rotten little…” The alchemists groaned as he pinched his nose, his cheeks red with pain and embarrassment. His cheeks puffed as the little bird flew around his head, before landing on his nose. The alchemist narrowed his eyes until suddenly, a few strands of hair flowed with the wind over the bird, suddenly fuming and puffing in smoke as it caught fire. A yelp echoed through the forest as the alchemist flailed about and finally doused the flames with a wet hand of water and mud. With a puff of air he blew the burnt strands out of his eyes, before pouting his lower lip. He sat down with his knees bent so that he could set his crossed arms upon them. The little Phoenix floated around once more to land curiously on the patch of dirt beside him. Finneas turned and tried to give the avian creature a glare, but found himself only giving a soft sigh, looking over to his right to find his book luckily closed on dry land. He extended an arm and dusted off the cover, giving another light sigh. “You know, if you did this to anyone else it might be a bit funnier for the both of us.” RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Ezrihel - 08-30-2016 A small white fox sat at the edge of a pond, black lips pulled back to allow a tiny pink tongue to lap at the tranquil waters. It paused for a second then pulled back to lick its muzzle before returning to the water once more. It was a warm day out today, the breeze calm and the air carried with it the scent of nature in all it’s wonders. After the fox had quenched its thirst, it sat back and dipped its right paw into the water. Daintily, it began to clean it’s right paw, before doing the process again with the left. With a soft noise it finally stood, having completed its early morning routine, and began to go on it’s business for the day. But that’s when the small furry canine both sensed and heard another presence. It perked its ears, zeroing in on the sounds of dried leaves crackling underfoot and a higher-pitched soft voice. This new sensory information piqued a curiosity within the fox, causing its tiny paws to carry it to where the sounds originated. A few brief moments of padding along brought her to quite a sight. A red haired human male was walking along, face buried in some sort of book. Then, a quiet chirping before a zip of fiery color darted out from the backpack the male wore. With what she could only assume was a displeased expression, the man closed his book and took after a tiny phoenix... only to run face first into a rather tall and wide tree. The fox cocked its head to the side, wondering how someone, even a clumsy and thin looking human such as the male in front of her, could miss the giant evergreen. The male even wore shaded circular objects on his head that symbolised the reading ornaments some souls carried with them to the afterlife. This observation only made the fox wonder further. Then the tiny phoenix chirped, and landed on the man’s nose, setting a few red-orange hair aflame, a situation he quickly remedied with a handful of wet dirt and a slight scowl. He then spoke to the little bird. The slender white fox jumped down from it’s perch on a high root, padding over to the flame haired man and tiny bird. With a few soft yips, it hoped to catch his attention before rubbing its body against his side. A cold wet nose would poke at his right hand, pushing it up and onto it’s face before nuzzling into the hand of the man. Another yip sounded as pale yellow-green eyes looked up at the deeper leafy green colored eyes of the human man. The little fox gave a yip once more, this time sounding almost indignant before a tiny pink tongue poked out to lick his soft, but albeit earthen flavored, hand. RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Demetri Malius - 08-30-2016 Finneas was caught off guard as the white fox approached him and showed him affection, looking wide-eyed, but with a soft smile at its beauty. It was so bright against the green and brown earthy landscape, and he couldn’t help but chuckle as it snuggled against him, trying to gain back affection from his right hand, nuzzling it and pushing it up with its nose. A small pink tongue licked his fingertips and he smiled meekly, just before reach over to pet its fluffy little head. It was so adorable, but rather odd, since the fox seemed so out of place. He questioned in his mind where this critter may have originated from, somewhere deep in the forest perhaps. He ran his hand over its soft white fur, being sure to scratch behind its ears and give it his attention. The little Phoenix tilted its head curiously, looking at the strange white creature before it, making tiny hops around to get a better look at what it was. It took a moment to examine the fox, and Finn glanced at it worriedly before looking back at the fox. It wouldn't try to catch it… would it? Hoping to distract his new friend, the alchemist scratched under the fox’s chin, his lips parting to ask a question. “Where did a cute little thing like you come from hmm?” His voice was soft but curious as he watched it smile from his affection. Out of suspicion, the alchemist focused his energy and noticed a large amount of magic emanating from the creature. So it was magical, but that didn't explain how it got here. Even though he had his suspicions, against his better judgment the alchemist stood one and ruffled the fox’s fur some more. “Want to head back to my house little friend?” he said as he looked down at it with a smile. He dusted his book off one more time before stuffing it back in his bag. As he looked around once more, he realized that the bird was missing. Great. Where could it have gone this time? Just as he sighed to signal that he wasn’t even gonna bother looking for the troublesome bird, a red streak flew past him and settled on a tree branch. The Phoenix held a small worm in its mouth, one which squirmed and flailed in response to the burning sensation of heat from its captor. After a moment the bird titled his head and chomped down on its prey, before ruffling its feathers in delight. “Well, it seems that your tastes are more simple than I had originally thought, perhaps a trip to the pet store would have been a better alternative…” he said as he let his face fall into his palm. Sometimes he felt that he was often so oblivious. Once they arrived home he would have to record his discovery in his journal. His indignation turned into a smile as he tried to look friendly to the fox. “I am not responsible for the bird's actions, but if you still want to join us, I don’t mind…” Even though he knew that the fox likely didn't understand him at all, he felt comfortable with speaking aloud to something, often times he felt lonely in his room of bottles and vials. It was nice to get some company, even if it was a fox who couldn’t understand him. With that, they trudged on home through the wilderness, until finally setting foot in the city of Ambrosia. They followed along the outskirts of the city before heading a bit deeper to where his home resided. The little shack that held much more than to be believed by your eyes. He opened his dingy looking shack with a small set of keys, opening the door wide enough for the Phoenix to zoom inside and the fox to look curiously at him. It softly pattered inside and down the stairs, where another set of locks protected the vast lab that lay within, and as they entered Finneas began speaking aloud as if the fox would nod along to his welcoming. “Try not to knock over anything that has colorful liquid in it okay? I know you don't understand me but… look--” He walked over to a bottle with blue liquid in it, softly taking it and swirling it in front of her, tapping it with his finger, shaking his head. “Snuggling the dangerous vials is a nono.” He then put the vial back as the fox tilted its head at him, and he began to unpack his supplies from the trip, tossing over a few alchemical ingredients he found. A bundle of plants and various leaves sitting upon a desk while he retrieved his book from his back, as well as a pencil to write in his descriptions for the Phoenix diet. Surely there would be more to discover from this young Phoenix in the future, so he left a lot of areas blank. Once the writing portion was done he sat in a small chair and began to draw the worm he had seen the little bird eat, detailing the scorch marks on the wriggling body of the Phoenix food. Every so often he would glance at the two creatures that stared curiously at him, blushing ever so slightly. It was weird being watched. Even by animals. RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Ezrihel - 08-30-2016 The little fox sat on the arm of a chair close to the alchemist, watching him work with its tail wrapped around it’s tiny paws. It’s intelligent eyes would look from the paper, to the sketching pencil, to Finn’s face, then back to the paper, observing every single minute detail possible. The tick tocking of some contraption could be heard in the house, the only noise to break the silence. The fox watched him sketch down several plants that were familiar to it. When he glanced at it, it pulled its lips back and let a tongue hang out a little bit, an obvious attempt at a smile. It flicked an ear before its mouth stretched back in a yawn, a soft and high pitched whine was produced. A few more moments passed, another ear flick, a tail twitch followed. The little bird suddenly started to sing out, chirping and carrying on. Yellow-green eyes snap from the papers and the alchemist’s fingers up to the young red bird. Instinctively, the fox licked its lips. It was completely absorbed in watching the movements of that delightful fowl, how it moved, each feather shuffling back into place. The phoenix sat perched on the metal lamp that hung over the desk which lit the area the alchemist worked in. Finneas seemed to pay no attention to either of them in this moment. Taking the opportunity, the fox darted its head forward, managing to catch a few red tail feathers between pearly white teeth. It pulled down, and the bird, panicking, gave a loud squawk and pulled away. The birdie would live to chirp another day if it had anything to say about it! With a sharp snort, the white fox stared at Finneas, three loose tail feathers hung from black lips and a slight pulse of magic could be felt if one paid attention. Finn, having been rudely disrupted from his work by this scaff, turned to look at the fox. It gave a soft whine before dropping the feathers and pushing them towards his pale hand. Marvelously, the feathers did not cause the wooden desk or the parchment paper to catch fire. Cautious, he took the feathers in his hand, yet he found that he was not burned, nor were the fine hairs on the back of his hand even singed. The fox lowered its head, resting its chin on the desk and laying its ears back. It stared up at him with a sort of pleading expression. He looked at the fox again, a soft smile on his face as he gave a quiet and contemplative, but pleased, ‘hmm’ towards this discovery. At this, the fox’s ears perked up. Setting two of the three feathers aside, Finneas raised the last one to his face, studying it intently. He ran a finger along the little bristles that made up the body of the plumage. Holding the feather so close to his face, he could note that it gave off a unique type of smell. Not unpleasant, and somewhat strangely familiar, he brought it closer to his nose and drew in a deeper breath. He got a nose full of sharp cinnamon, rosemary and some sort of mint. The scent was surprisingly strong, causing his sinuses to tingle and his eyes to smart. Squeezing his eyes shut, he threw his head into his hands and sneezed, a few of the lighter specimens he had collected on his trip earlier scattered across the desk. Before he had the chance rub his face, a large cloud of mist appeared around the fox. The appearance of the mist was accompanied by the sound of a distant gong. After a few moments, and Finn’s hands attempting to bat it away, the mist cleared. The fox no longer sat on the arm of the chair. In fact, the white fox was nowhere to be seen or found. Where it once perched was now taken up by something else. A woman. A naked woman. A naked white haired woman sat the wrong way in Finn’s chair, in one of the most ungraceful positions possible. Her head was leaned back on the opposing chair arm, it was obvious that the transformation had left her unconscious. Her right arm hung limply over the chair arm, next to her head Her right leg was thrown over the arm of the chair, her left leg and left arm hanging off the front. In her current position, she was incredibly indecent. The entirety of her slender form was displayed before her host, from her slim legs to the soft swells of her breasts, to her exposed love. After a few seconds, and a soft groan, her head lifted. She blinked her thick white lashes a few times and raised a white eyebrow at Finn. Pink lips part, the sharp points of her canines peeking from within her mouth. “... Ugh... What... What happened?” RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Demetri Malius - 08-30-2016 “I…. you… “ The alchemist’s face flushed pink with embarrassment as he found his eyes drifting town, scanning over her petite little body. It was so smooth looking, It was as he could feel her body with his eyes as he examined her intently. After a long moment of her staring back at him, he shook his head of the indecency, his pink cheeks shone bright as his lips quivered and his voice stuttered. “H-have you no modesty to cover yourself up in front of another being?” The alchemist shakily said, averting his eyes, trying to not even have her image in his peripheral vision, but even as he turned away he could see the cute and innocently curious look on her face. “J-just try to put something on, will you?” He said, frowning a bit. His mind was cluttered with what to do with this suddenly naked girl in his lab. He didn’t think the fox would be magical like that. His mind searched for what she could possibly be but only her nude image popped up in his mind, blocking any sort of cohesive thought process. “... Put something on? ... Oh. ... Why would I do that?” Her voice was soft and higher pitched, but slow as she was fairly groggy still. As she spoke, she stretched, arching her back and pushing her chest in the air a bit before rubbing at her face. He bit his lip, wondering how he could force himself to try to explain indecency and such to this young woman, but without wanting to get too close or accidently do something indecent himself. His eyes looked down upon his vest, to which he immediately struggled and fought with in order to take off, all while the foxgirl watched, before balling it up in his hands. “H-here… just… please put this on…” He spoke shyly, inching his way over to her and keeping his hands stretched out, offering the vest out to her. She looked curiously at his, watching him move so weirdly, as if he was scared or something of her. As he came closer she reached out softly, a bit too softly as Finn did not realize how close he was, having his hand bump into soft flesh as she held his vest. There was a moment of silence as his neck creaked to see the horribly indecent action he had just committed, his mouth agape in shock. A large EEK was heard as the fox girl looked back with an expression that one can describe as “Oh?” Almost immediately Finn attempted to backpedal, only to trip over his own feet as he tugged back on the vest, sending not only himself to the floor, but the bare and naked girl in the chair. Both yelped a bit as they thumped onto the wooden boards, a bit dizzy from the impact until they looked at each other. The girl sat upon the alchemist, a leg on each side of his body, her entire presence simply in front of him in her full glory, forcing the alchemist to shield his eyes from the sight. His face turned many shades redder, almost matching his hair as he mumbled and make incoherent noises into his hands, trying to distract himself as he already started to feel slightly aroused. “I’m sorry so sorry just oh god I’m so sorry…” the alchemist trailed off into a nonstop series of apologies, as if trying to appease the girl for his actions, but she couldn’t even understand what he had done so wrong besides maybe pull her to the floor so suddenly. As she sat up another squeak could be heard as she simply straddled him innocently, all while Finn mumbled in even more incomprehensible jargon, struggling to want to cover his crotch but also keep his hands away from her lower lady parts. “Just- ah... I … we shouldn’t be in this position…” he managed to squeak out. RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Ezrihel - 08-30-2016 She looked down at the man, a curious expression on her face. Why was this man so flustered? Why was his face so red? Nothing had happened that she could view as good enough reasons for his awkwardness and otherwise weird actions. Upon sitting up, she reached her hands up towards the ceiling and arched her back, giving a nice good stretch as she adjusted to this strange human body she now possessed. At the peak of her stretch, she opened her mouth and gave a big yawn, flashing her sharp canines again. She brought her arms down and rested her hands flat on his chest for support. She watched as he flailed in an uncomfortable fashion with his hands, dancing them around his belt before covering his flushed face. “This position?” She questioned, looking down his body. “What’s wrong with how we’re sitting? You make a very comfortable cushion.” She paused, then gave a little bounce of her hips, which caused her chest to jiggle in what could be considered inappropriate by a more puritan mindset. “See? Comfy. I’m absolutely comfy! Nothing much to worry about. I didn’t even hit my head on the way down--” With more flustered sounds coming from the flame haired male, she tilted her head and gave a little smile. He was acting so silly, and she just couldn’t understand him, but she still thought he was fairly cute in his actions. Having had enough of his jabbering awkwardness, she reached a thin fingered hand up to his face and grabbed the bottom of his jaw, around his chin. She leaned forward to look him directly in the face.. “-- Hey! Listen to me Mister-- Mister--” “Finneas!” He managed to interject through his incoherent blatherings. “--Mister Finneas! Okay. Finneas... Do you mind if I just call you Finn? Alright, so Mister Finn, I don’t quite understand why you’re acting so weird. It’s very unbecoming of such a cute human such as yourself! I mean-- I promise that you didn’t hurt me, and I’m just as confused about this as you! I’ve always been a fox, and now-- Now I’m a person! --Or at least as much of a person as a person with a tail can be... But that’s besides the point-- Hey, are you even listening to me?” She gave him a not-very-serious glare before boops him on the nose. “I’m just over here trying to understand all your silly little human ramblings! So! Tell me Mister Finn-- Why must I clothe myself? What is it about my natural form that makes you want to hide it? I mean-- You didn’t suggest for me to wear cloth as a fox, nor is that delightful little phoenix over there wearing even a shred of fabric-- though that might be entirely to blame on the fact that it would catch fabric on fire-- but as I said, that’s besides the point! As a nature spirit, I don’t think that there is anything inappropriate about my physical form-- Unless that is, I missed a memo of sorts-- Did I miss a memo?” She paused for a brief moment and looked to the side, clearly in thought. She lifted her hand off his chin and looked at her fingers, clearing counting on them as she sat back some, resting her rear on his lap once again. After she finished counting, she gave an excited wiggle of her hips, and her tail wagged, slapping against Finn’s legs. “Nope! I don’t think I missed any sort of memo as of late. So-- You’re an alchemist, right? Which of the flora from the forest have you tried out and played with so far? Do you study animals as well? -- I only ask because you have a phoenix as a pet-- Or at least, in your house-- I get the distinct feeling that she isn’t exactly tamed yet, what with how she makes you chase her through the woods and whack that speckled face on tree branches-- Oh! Yeah, is your face alright? Also, you should probably enchant a pendant to give you some sort of fire resistance. Mud is definitely not a good look for someone as pasty as yourself.” She paused and gave a good laugh. “Nah, I’m really just as pasty as you! I think I might even turn purple when I get cold, just like pale humans! Do you turn purple when you get cold Mister Finn? I mean, I noticed that your nose and around your eyes are always kinda flushed in color, like your knuckles and fingertips. ... Also!! Oh! Do you have a bunch of books here? Do you write your own books? I saw that you had one of those nice looking leather bound books with you when you ran yourself into that tree branch-- Speaking of tree branches, you seem pretty clumsy Mister Finn! We definitely need to work on your coordination more. Is that why you’ve been so flustered and awkward? Are you afraid that I’ll be upset or judge you because you’re really clumsy? I don’t think that you should be too worried about how you appear to me-- I think humans are pretty interesting, and each in their own unique ways!” A smile grew on her face as she spoke. She looked down at Finn affectionately before wiggling again, her tail wagging faster. She wrapped her arms around herself, hugging herself in her excitement. The action gave her a noticeable amount of cleavage but thankfully blocked a great deal of her chest from the ginger’s view. After a moment of this, she simply leaned forward and laid her head on Finn’s chest and nuzzled under his chin. He was just so adorable! RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Demetri Malius - 08-30-2016 After struggling with where to put his hands while he flailed about, the alchemist finally decided to bury his face inside them. Hiding his embarrassment over the current situation . He wanted so ,much for the young maiden to kindly lift herself off of him, but that sense of relief never came. As he held his face in his hands the fox-girl looked ever so curiously at him, trying to get his attention between his random outbursts of gibberish. His mind raced and blocked out much of what she said, instead hearing low rumblings from his eardrums. That is, until he bounced on his lap with her naked body, sending a shameful sense of pleasure through his body. In a panic he felt her words rush through his mind, before immediately trying to retaliate in even more ramblings. He could hardly make a single understandable phrase, trying to argue the unwritten socially understood standards for human decency, which definitely, from as far as he could remember, included wearing clothes over your naughty bits, double so for the maidens. At least to everyone who was not your life partner.Being in such a position like this was clearly forbidden by such unwritten rules of conduct. But still the fox girl remained stubborn, backing her side up with facts of nature and other examples of unfair scrutiny, making the alchemist quiet for a moment as he frantically searched for a valid rebuttal, as he did so she seemed to get playfully serious with him, grabbing his chin, forcing him to look meekly and shamefully into her eyes while his cheeks blushed as the reddest shade they could turn. As she struggled to recall his never said name, the alchemist managed to collect a few of his thoughts and stammer out. “F-F-F-FINNEAS!” The fox-girl’s ears perked up the sound of his name, including it in her argument. Granted she appeared to know it was not his last name, as she applied the “mister” honorific before his name. He could only stare up at her simply in a bit of shock and fear,(and a bit of shame) eyes occasionally glancing for some kind of way out of this. Should he agree and perhaps she will become satisfied and leave him be, maybe try to argue his point? It just felt so…. Indecent, being like this. How was he to explain that? Each possibility ran through his mind after she questioned about a memo. Should he address the topic as a memo, or perhaps it’s unrelated? Why would there be some memo about it being decent to wear clothing. It was common sense, or at least he had believed it to be so. There were a few… interesting people in ambrosia that didn’t follow the same train of thought but they were different. Harlots. But aside from that, Finn could only take this wildgirl to be only oblivious to the acts of the world due to its absence in her life. Maybe he could brush it off, and just as he opened his mouth to try to bring them out of calamity… SHE WIGGLED AGAIN. Again the alchemist froze up as she rambled on again, more coherently than he, inquiring about his career as an alchemist. His head seem to clear as his thoughts veered away from the situation into his work. “O-Oh, my work?” He stammered, trying to get a grip over himself. “I just-- I have only been experimenting with the local herbs for less than a few years, but I have gathered much information on them, as well as any and all correlations between the alchemy here and the alchemy in my home world….” he trailed on a bit, his voice becoming calmer and more as her breasts stayed out of sight against his chest while she lay upon him, helping him focus more on his achievements as an alchemist, speaking of varieties of potions he had discovered, which alchemical ingredients were the strongest, the most dangerous ones never to touch without gloves, or ten foot long pole, or long range remote control ingredient picking car, at least as far as he knew. He had made a few mistakes in the past, and though his potions may cure the burns and scars, they will never heal the mental scar that screamed at him to never do such a thing like that again. But still, it was important to keep a shelf stocked full of as many ingredients as possible, maybe more than one, or in Finneas’s case, all of them. Some past being stocked-- more like crammed to the brim with plants that might not even be used in alchemy. Nonetheless, he spoke and spoke in wonder, seeming not to even take a breath, while he described all these minute details. At one point he managed to somehow pick her up off of him and set her softly in his chair while he walked over to grab a few books in order to show her the detailed pictures and warnings for each plant. She seemed to absorb the information so curiously and eagerly, as if the act of learning these things seemed to power her further. After speaking about one last potion, he seemed to stop for a moment, losing his train of thought while reaching the last page of the books he had showed her. “Oh um…” he says , realizing that the girl was still naked. “Oh! My apologies for rambling, but please, can you put something on.. It makes me so uncomfortable. I know you don’t want to wear anything but just… if you are gonna be in my house at least do that for me.” He says, turning away from her blushingly, he felt a bit calmer now that she was off of him, finding it easier to try to make a point of wearing clothing. RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Ezrihel - 08-30-2016 With a soft sigh, she looked down at the vest she was still gripping onto. She eyed it curiously, but warily as well. This whole clothes thing made her pretty skeptical of this all, if you'd ask her! She cast a look up at Finn, then down to the vest, then an even more pleading look back at him as it dawned on her. How the fuck do I put this thing on? She took a second to unfold and unwrinkle the vest and looked over it. Before hand, in the forest, she hadn't paid much attention to his clothes. Clothes didn't matter to her, they weren't that important of a detail. And before whatever magic that turned her human, she hadn't paid attention, and even after the transformation, she had been too groggy to truly remember how Finneas had been adorning his frame with this piece of smothering fabric. Well, looking down at the clothing item, she noted that there was a hole on either side, and one side was wide open, whereas the other side was a solid section. Hmmm... Finneas did want her to cover her chest the most, seeing as her breasts where somehow making him uncomfortable for a reason she couldn't really understand. Giving a quiet sigh, she slid her arms through the holes and adjusted it over her shoulders, covering her chest with the solid piece of fabric. She gave a slight shiver as she felt the coolness of the fabric grace across her skin and the chilled metal buttons touch her back. Unbeknownst to her, she was wearing it backwards, but, this seemed to be by far the most efficient way of covering her bosom from his cowering eyes and wimpy frame. She gave a more pointed look at Finneas before huffing and turning around, showing her back to him. Most of the skin of her back was covered by thick silver hair that cascaded down to the small of her back. Her rump and a good deal of the back of her thighs were covered by her grey tail that swooshed in slight unhappiness. "Would you... Maybe mind fastening this up for me so that I can stop making you so... So uncomfortable...?" Her tone was that of resignation. This item felt so unbearably unnatural to her, like wearing skin on top of skin. The vest in itself felt heavy on her frame, as if it weighed her down and restricted her from enjoying everyday movement. And to be honest, yeah, the vest was very obviously not meant for someone with as petite a frame as herself. It was by far far too long, covering even her lady parts. It hung over the edges of her shoulders, clearly too wide for her slender frame. While waiting, she couldn't help but fidgeting around a bit, playing with her bangs and glancing around the main study room they were in. She let her mind wander for a moment, hoping to think of less unpleasant and restrictive thoughts. She glanced over the bookshelves again, shifting her stance so that her right hip was cocked up, accentuating the curves of her slim frame a bit more. She crossed her arms. Maybe after this Finneas would humor her and allow her to leaf through a few of his alchemy books, or even let her look at the notes he was currently working on. The room in itself smelt extremely pleasant and relaxing to her. She could smell the great varieties of herbs, spices and flowers used to mix and make all the potions he had stored and bottled up in all the great tall wood cabinets around the room. His house, in general she had noticed so far, had heavier earthen accents. The lingering scent of burned incense sticks and waxy candles drifted through the air lazily. She fidgeted more as she felt step closer to her, the backs of his fingers softly grazing her skin as he went to work buttoning the vest up, not bothering to mention to her that she was wearing it backwards. His digits were warm feeling against her cool skin. In fact, without her fur, she was markedly more chilly feeling now that she had stood for a while, allowing her body heat to dissipate much quicker than what she was used to. She pulled her tail around herself a bit, revealing a small bit of her rear in the process, though she didn't really notice over her goosebumps. She crossed her arms and turned to look at Finneas, giving a quite noise before unfolding her arms and wrapping them around his torso and squeezing close to him. He felt much warmer than her at the moment and she couldn't help but give a slight shiver. "Mister Finneas, I'm... I'm cold. Is there a nest or den I can curl up in until I'm a bit warmer? I've hardly ever been cold before... Life is weird without fur. How do you stand it? You must be so cold all the time! Is that why your skin is so pale, like snow, because of the cold you feel from your strangely bare body?" Rubbing her face into his chest, she looked over to his desk. "Heya! Maybe after I get more warmed up, I can watch you work? It would give me something to do-- Oh! That's right! You have a phoenix! What have you named her?" RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Demetri Malius - 08-31-2016 Finneas couldn't help but give a sigh as he watched the wild fox-girl from the forest struggle with the vest he had given her. Granted, there were more appropriate and easier articles of clothing to give to her, but it would do for now. For a moment, Finneas was worried that his vest would not cover her bosom and blushed slightly at the thought before giving sighing in relief at her decision to put it on backwards. It helped him feel more comfortable and calm as she attempted to put it on, taking a deep breath before speaking up. "Again, I apologize for my reaction, I was just caught off guard by the sudden appearance of you, a young nude woman, seeming to just transform from a fox and I just didn't know how to react." He could see that look of indignation and resignment as she motioned towards the vest and requested his assistance in buttoning the vest, almost scoffing at his excuse. He hesitated for a moment before walking over to her and cautiously buttoning up the vest, taking a moment to analyze her reaction to having to be clothed. She seemed to be rather unhappy and displeased over the fact. After finishing the last button, he spoke up again, trying to reason with her. "I can guess that you have taken a dislike to wearing clothes but... societal norms have proclaimed those who don't as, well, indecent, and I am inclined to agree. Those parts of you should only be seen by those you love, and I would hardly consider myself on that level with you." She gave him a glance before scouring the room with her eyes, looking in wonder at all the different experiments and bookshelves that were scattered about. She seemed mystified, full of curiosity about it all, and it made the alchemist smile softly. HE was glad someone else had some interest in his findings. As he noticed the goosebumps on her shoulders, his lips parted to speak but instead he gave a startled gasp as the foxgirl clung to him and hugged him for what appeared to be warmth. HE froze up for a few seconds, unsure of what to do, his body tensing from the contact until he gave a deep breath to relax. "Another reason for clothing, warmth. If you wish we can visit the nearby shops and search for some clothing for you to wear that will make you warmer and much more comfortable, perhaps more lightweight than mine, so that you can be more pleased. They have garments for amost any creature or species, so I am sure you can find something to wear." She seemed to give a slight nod, but was distracted by her surroundings. She inquired if he would let her poke around or show her some of his findings, but then interjected with thoughts of the Phoenix. The little bird's name? He had honestly not come up with one, partially because he was too busy trying to find out how to feed it, the rest of the reason being that most of the time he was calling it names for all the trouble it caused. "I haven't actually named her yet, since she was hatched not but a day or two ago, recovered her egg with a friend of mine. If you wish you can name her, but how about we go to find you some warm clothing first hmm? Try to... try to wrap your tail around yourself a bit better, though," he mentioned as he noticed her bare bottom. "Your um... rear is showing a bit." He pointed out with motion towards her exposed butt. She gave a roll of her eyes and wrapped herself with her tail, causing Finn to smile softly. "YOu can think of a name while we walk and shop." The fox nodded as she stood up with him, not letting go as they shuffled over to the door. Finneas's cheeks were a dull red, as he was a bit nervous about this sudden change in his routine, or what could be considered a routine. They almost seemed like a couple as they walked, and he received a few comments from locals who knew him, all to which he shushed and motioned away with a pink face, trying to maintain his composure as the foxgirl kept beside him. "So um..,. I realize you never mentioned your name... may I... you know.. ask what it is?" The alchemist asked meekly. "After all, I can assume I will be sheltering you for a while. ALso, how long have you been in the omniverse, were you recently summoned?" He listened to her answer as they walked into the shop, the cashier welcoming them while he led her to the female section of clothing. Being a bit warmer inside, they pulled away from each other, but still led her by the hand. They finally arrived at the area he thought best suited to her, many of the garments adapted for a tail and ears. "Have a look and see what you like, I am sure I will have enough to cover for it. Be Sure to pick up enough for more than one outfit, you cant be wearing the same thing all the time..." he then remembered that his wardrobe was pretty consistent and rubbed the back of his head. "Unless you want to, get a few of the same one..." RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Ezrihel - 09-11-2016 "Oh, yes, I'm the strange one out when I exist in my natural form and figure, not the rest of people who have deemed that lying and hiding things is the best course of action for this 'society' thing you keep mentioning. You humans are very strange-- What with your cat and mouse games of courtship-- Though I'm not entirely sure why lack of clothing equates to something with your process of achieving coitus." She gave a disinterested and somewhat annoyed sigh and rubbed her arms for warmth. Then he mentioned that another purpose for clothing was for maintaining the temperature of the body. She acknowledged this with a flick of her grey ear. "Hmm. Well I guess that explains why it was that you humans wear clothes in the first place! You lost your fur only to wear She listened as he told her about the phoenix, how young it was, and all that what not. The Phoenix was only a few days old, and she was quite curious about how this beanstalk of a man had happened into a phoenix nest, taken an egg and lived to tell about it. He went on to tell her that she could think of a name for the little bird, but he suggested that they get some clothes for her to hide herself in. Then he made a passing comment about her wrapping her tail around herself better, since a bit of her bottom was showing. She rolled her eyes, giving a slightly despondent huff before sharply adjusting her tail. He did however mention that she could name the little fire bird as they shopped though. At the mention of this, so many possibilities came to mind, so many possible names that could or might fit the little bird, and also on the other hand there were all kinds of names that wouldn't fit the little fire mite. Like Bartholomew. She couldn't help but give a slight shudder. Or Trixie, or Brittney for that matter! Tiffany was also a pretty boring name if she had to give an opinion on names and their general aesthetic. What types of names did she like though, was the really question to be asked. With a smile, she willingly followed Finneas through the door, allowing her to lead him by the hand as she paid little to no attention to how the middle sized town of Ambrosia looked or functioned. She didn't pay a single glance to any of the shop windows or fanciful clothing the people around her wore. Much too enthralled within her own mind, she began to sort through the names she did happen to like, and thought would work well for a newly hatched phoenix chick. And while the list seemed to stretch on and on and on forever, Kyda did finally happen to settle on a name that she greatly liked. Looking up at Finneas, she said, "What about Nyx?" He gave her a slightly confused look. She had been mostly quiet the entire time they had walked, and he had even lead her all the way into a clothing store. He had gently held her hand and taken her back to the women's section for clothes. He had averted his eyes from the sight of women's undergarments. It would have been socially inappropriate for him to be staring at such articles of clothing in public. Kyda had sat in silence for quite a moment before having suddenly spoken out, and as such, it was unexpected and Finneas wasn't exactly certain what it was she was speaking about. Having seen his expression, she realized that he had probably forgotten that she was thinking on the phoenix's name for the vast majority of this expedition into Ambrosia. "Well, I hate the name Bartholomew, and Trixie, Tiffany or Brittney. I didn't like Michael or Michelle, or even Suesanna. And the names John, James and George are all pretty damned boring if I have to say so myself. None of them seemed good enough, yanno Mister Finneas? So, I was sitting here, holed up in my own head as I tried to figure out this stump of a question. This is the name the bird will have for the entirety of its life. ... Who am I to even chose such a large and meaningful designation? This poor creature will be stuck with whatever name I choose here today, so naturally with a pressure like that hanging over my ears I have to make a tough and wise decision." She paused for a moment, flicking her right ear. "So I got to thinking- What's a good name for a Phoenix bird anyways? You can't just call it by some normal human name, like Steve. No Phoenix would like to be a pet named Steve. So I started just thinking, and after a moment of my gears turning round and round, I ended up with Nyx, spelled en-wai-echs, not en-eye-cee-kay-es. It's short for Phoenix, if that part wasn't already too obvious. ..." Her voice gave a hopeful upward inflection, "Do you like the name, Mister Finn?" After a few seconds of deliberation, Finneas nodded and answered her, "Yes, I think it's a suitable name for the bird." She smiled, making a rather happy and excited cooing noise as she squeezed his hand tightly. "Okay... So... Where are we, Mister Finn?" She asked, after taking a second to calm down. "We're in an apparel store, remember, I brought you here so you could pick out some clothes." "Oh yeah, so I could subjugate myself to your strange human societal norms of strict bodily imprisonment." She gave a playful flick of her tail and hit him in the side of his leg. "It's okay Mister Finneas, I'll play this weird game of your's." For an instant, he seemed about to ask her what exactly she meant by that last comment, or maybe even make a retort back to her, but instead he gave a slight frown and a soft sigh, his face just a slight bit red. "You still haven't told me your name. I asked you back before we walked into the shop." "Oh. Ooooh, yeah sorry, I was waay- waaaay too lost in thought on the way here if you asked anything. ... Sorry about that Mister Finn... Oh-- but yeah, my name is Kyda, Guardian of the Ishikawa clan. I'm a Kitsune-yokai, or a fox spirit. I work for Inari, the Goddess of Rice and Good Fortune." She began to look through the different type of clothing, making different expressions as she considered each one. "I'm not too much of a mischievous spirit, like my brothers or sisters. I prefer to learn and read books instead of play tricks and cause chaos. I guess that's why I found myself as a devoted nature spirit to a very wise and beautiful deity such as Inari. I was, however, put in charge of being the guardian spirit of a very hectic and destructive clan, though they didn't start out that way. It's funny, I'm a guardian, yet I can't fix or prevent everything from happening. Sometimes people make their own choices, and those choices are bad. Before I had left, a lot of bad karma had befallen the Ishikawa clan. I'm not entirely certain what things are like for them now, or how the girl child is fairing, but those are questions I've put to rest for the most part." She grabbed out a thin and flowy greenish-tan color dress. The middle of it was cinched to a small degree, but aside from that it was decently baggy and not form fitting. It was however short. And at seeing the length of the dress, Finn gave a soft 'ehh' before suggesting that she maybe find something nice to go on her legs. "Oh? Would you rather me go dashing into the streets wearing nothing on my bottom at all? Because that's what I would prefer." "Well what with how short that dress is going, your rear will be showing either way." He said, looking slightly flustered at her threat. She gave him a pouty face before glaring around the store and trying to find the leg section. "Fine. Where's the leg section, Finneas." With an eyeroll, he pointed his index finger to a rack stocked with various types of shorts, leggings and pants. Walking over to the rack, she grabbed several things and unfolded them in an exaggerated and slightly annoyed fashion. She didn't like the first three things she had happened to find, throwing the clothes into a disorganized pile in the isle behind her. With a flushed face, Finneas hurriedly picked the items up, trying to brush any dirt off of them before neatly folding them and putting them back where they belonged. "Kyda!" "What?" "You can't just-- You can't throw these around like this." "Why not." "It's... Well it's rather rude." "Hmmm. Sure. You act as if I, such an uncivilized being as myself would know what "rude" even is. Does it taste good?" She flicked her tail, softly hitting him on the outside of the leg again. "I'm just over here, trying to be decent, but oh Finneas~ I just happen to be failing at this sooo hard." She gave a coy smile and winked at him before deciding that the pants she needed had to have been on the bottom shelf of the display racks. She bent over at the waist, and wiggled her hips as the vest she was wearing rode up on her, the sides of her butt cheeks very visible. Her intergluteal cleft and her love hidden only by her tail, a tail whose tip twitched, threatening to flick to one side or another and expose her all over again. After a moment of this, she actually looked at the pants on the bottom shelf in front of her. One pair caught her eye in particular. A pair of dark dull green leggings were grabbed up by her. Excitedly, she spun around to face Finneas, whose face was flushed and eyes narrowed at her previous action. "Finn! What do you think about these? I really like the color of them... Do you think they would cover enough of my oh-so-scandalous leg-skin? Or, are bare feet also considered indecent and inappropriate in your weird human societal standards? I really don't want to cover my feet-- but aside from that! Don't you think the colors go really pretty together? Don't they just remind you of a garden in the late fall? Ooooh, Finn! Please, is this okay with you?" RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Demetri Malius - 09-13-2016 How scandalous! The young girl was far more devious and mischievous than her obliviousness led him on to believe. The alchemist could only blush and fail to avert his eyes as his instinctual mind forced him to watch her hips and tail waggle ever so dangerously. He shook his head and narrowed his eyes at her when she turned to look at him. He began to open his mouth to speak, but her smirk melted into excitement over the leggings she happened upon. She held them up to him as he examined them, frowning slightly but giving a deep sigh as he nodded. “Fine, you may wear that outfit… and I suppose yes, I can see the colors matching to that of the likes of autumn, though i wish it had more leave…” He gave a roll of his eyes. “Nevertheless, let’s proceed. Kyda seemed to beam a bit, relieved that she could find some clothing that didn't completely restrain and constrict her. After picking more outfits similar to that one, including long skirts and flowy blouses, she began to waltz over to the checkout counter when Finneas called out her name. “Kyda? What about your undergarments?” he called out, a bit nervous by the indecency of the subject. “Undergarments?” she asked, turning around with a slight frown. “Yeah, like you know… underwear?” She stood with a raised eyebrow. The alchemist sighed before averting his gaze and motioning towards the female section for undergarments. “Brassieres? Corsets? Panties?” he said with a weak smile. She replied with a straight face and a deadpan stare. “Kyda--” “Finn.” The alchemist stopped for a moment. “You need to--” “Finneas.” He looked away for a moment before turning back to look at her. “Finn do you see how much clothing I am having to wear and I haven’t even put on the outfit.” “But undergarments are an essential part of--” “Finn it’s either what I am holding or nothing.” He opened his mouth up, but decided to shut it. Opened it again. Shut it. Ope-shut it. “Fiiine. You are so hard to bargain with…” She gave a innocent smile as they headed over to the desk, Finn adjusting his goggles from moving around so much before paying the cashier. She watched the clothes become scanned and bagged, frowning a bit at the absence of underwear, but he supposed at least she wasn’t naked Much of what she grabbed was rather… thin and stretchy. If anything he could just hand her one of his many vests, if he found it to be too revealing. Kyda took her purchased clothing and brought it to the dressing room, fixing herself up in the outfit and coming out with a bit of an uncomfortable frown on her face. “These things are so uncomfortable… I can’t even comprehend why you humans wear them. Your games are so unnatural.” She spoke as she tried to stretch out a bit, testing the flexibility of her attire. “The legwear is okay though, in comparison to everything else. I actually kinda like it.” Finneas gave a sigh of relief. At least she liked something, sure this wasn’t any sort of outfit he would have chosen, that is, if he was a woman. Still, it was a good first step. They soon walked out of the store and began to head home, but a sudden low grumble disturbed the silence between them, coming from Kyda’s stomach. “Are you perhaps hungry?” The alchemist asked, stopping for a moment. “If you wish we can head over to grab a bite to eat? Any idea what you would like?” “Oh um… sure! Oh do you know if this world has any wontons? Or maybe miso soup? What do you guys eat? Hopefully it’s not as bad as your clothing restrictions.” She spoke with narrowed eyes, crossing her arms a bit. “Well if you want we can go to an asian restaurant, judging by the style of clothing you picked and the names you mentioned, unless you want to try something new?” She seemed to think for a moment before giving him an answer. “Well, I suppose we can try something new. What do you usually eat?” “Well, I eat fresh veggies from my underground farm, no sunlight but I used some mixtures to make the plants glow in the dark. But yeah, sometimes i go for a burger and fries at a local restuarant, want to head there?” “Sure, lead the way.” The duo strolled through the city, blending in with the crowd as they ventured through the plazas and the streets, until finding a small diner. They entered the restaurant, where smiling waitresses served people in red leather chairs, everything looking so organized , the bar having a row of red leather stools as well. They were greeted and seated rather immediately, with great service as they were given their menus. “Just take the daily special, it actually never changes but it’s still pretty great.” “Why is it called the daily special if it never changes.” “I’m not quite sure, either the owner is lazy, or daily just means they have it every day.” They spoke a bit about the diner, and the feel of it, all the posters and slogans plastered on the walls, and they were even given little decorative hats. Finneas refused to put it on, while Kyda playfully placed it upon her head, smiling at it. “”I thought you didn’t like clothing?” “And I thought you liked all of it? Why don't you have yours on?” “I just… I dont want to wear it.” “Well I want to wear mine~.” FInneas looked away before realizing their food had arrived, grabbing a few of his fries and bringing them to his mouth, elegantly taking a few bites out of them before grabbing one half of his sliced hamburger. Kyda seemed to look for utensils of some sort until Finneas motioned with his hands. “Just eat it like this.” He explained, taking a bite of his burger. Kyda looked curiously at the burger and did the same, her eyes widening at the taste. She seemed to take her next bite more eagerly, as well as grabbing a few fries as she began to enjoy her meal. Finneas giggled a bit as he took another bite, managing to get some of the sauce from his burger onto his shirt. Immediately he flailed and began to try to clean it up, but to no avail. Kyda giggled back at him before looking at the shake in front of her, reaching around the cold rink with her hands and taking a sip. :”These are delicious!” she exclaimed, taking another powerful sip. She drank more as FInneas watched, reaching a hand out to warn her, but it was too late. Her lips puckered off the straw as she clutched her head. “Hunghh! So cooold! Ow...” She shouted, trying to ease her brain freeze. “Hey, just let me… here…” the alchemist chanted a few words placing his hand on her forehead as he warmed her up a bit, healing her from the frozen pain. She rubbed her head afterwards and gave him a soft mile of thanks. “Careful, don’t drink it too fast…” Finn warned,, a bit late, but she nodded her head, knowing the consequences now. They continued their meal as Kyda tried dipping her fries into her shake, a decision she was quick to be glad for, as she began to dip every fry in it. “Mister Finneas, you should wear your hat!” she exclaimed, a bit of of the shake on the corner of her lips as she suggested the action. “I dont really want to, besides, it’s mostly for the children.” “Oh come on, just wear it a bit, they gave it to you.” The alchemist sighed again before putting the paper hat on and trying to give a stern look to Kyda, but her face forced a chuckle out of him. “Alright, it’s not as bad as I had thought, you almost done?” he asked, just as she finished her last bite. “Mhmm~!” Finneas paid the check and almost took off the hat, but kept it on due to Kyda’s immediate protest. They walked all the way back to Finneas’s shack, stuffed full of lovely burgers, fries, and shakes. Once inside, finneas walked down the hall past the kitchen and lab, down to the study, kicking back onto his chair as he rested from the long day. It was already evening by the time they had gotten back, and Finneas had been up since the early morning in order to try to feed the Phoenix food. Speaking of which, the bird had flown into the study after their entrance, perched on a small lamp that Finneas used when writing long notes, cocking its head to the side a bit as he looked at the tired couple. “If you feel tired at all, you can rest in the bedroom, unless you still want me to show you more of my work. It is getting pretty late though.” RE: [IO!-IJAIRC!] The Phoenix, the Fox, and the Finneas - Ezrihel - 09-15-2016 Walking back into the little underground den-house, Kyda took a deep breath in and gave a big yawn, her lips pulling thin and stretching over her perfect white teeth. The burger had been pretty great, in fact, she had never had something quite like it. Beef wasn't that popular of an item back in her home-before-her-forest-home, at least not in burger form, and having wandered the forests for such a long time, she still hadn't found any beef cattle to sink her teeth into. ... That and as a dainty little old white fox, she had lacked both the physical strength and size to ever dream of taking down a "free ranged cattle", as the diner place had called them. Looking down at her pale and slender hands, she also realized that without her handy dandy and utterly super amazing new opposable thumbs, she wouldn't have been able to properly butcher her food, let alone grind it and prepare it properly, or even start a fire to cook a juicy burger on for that matter! Aah, the world seemed both more complex and better, yet worse, as a human. She certainly didn't agree with this clothes thing she had been oh so lovingly forced into by her new nestmate. Though, as it was his den, she would respect his den-rules. Looking around the den-house, she grabbed onto Finneas's left arm, snaking her right arm around his as she followed him down the hall, her eyes glancing from wall to wall and taking in how everything was arranged and set up. To be fair, she actually hadn't seen very much of his den-house yet, so she was still curiously ogling everything she had a chance to whenever she was presented the chance. Walking into the great nice book-note-collection-room, she let her eyes scan across all the walls, not noticing her arm come un-entwined from Finneas's. Her ears perked up and she snapped out of her revere at the sound of Finneas sitting down and kicking back in his large processed-cow-skin-chair. He lounged back and looked so comfortable that she couldn't help but stretch her arms up to the ceiling and give another big yawn. “If you feel tired at all, you can rest in the bedroom, unless you still want me to show you more of my work. It is getting pretty late though.” Pursing her lips, she took a few moments to contemplate both options. "Can... Can I see more of your work before- Before I--" She gave another yawn. Her sleep schedule was totally and completely thrown off by this entire thing. "--Before I get some sleep? My natural sleep schedule is all kinds of thrown off by all of this... Usually I'm more awake during the later evening and night, and I go to sleep after the sun rises for the most part... I... I actually like to take naps through out the day-- Is that something that humans do, or will I be in opposition of a societal game rule I'm currently unaware of?" Her tone actually wasn't at all sarcastic during her questioning. In fact, her voice had taken on a much more gentle and soft, sleepy lilt and tone since she had finished eating. Giving a glance up towards Finneas through white eyelashes, she made a slightly contemplative expression before she decided that she would just simply sit on the floor between Finn's feet. With another yawn, she rested her back against the front of the chair and nuzzled into his knee, making a noise of content before again asking him to tell her more about his work. And so he did. He regaled her with little short tales of his various journeys into the woods, a long with stories about mixing all kinds of different and interesting potions, including one that burned part of his eyebrow off and singed some hair as well at one point... Okay, on several points with several differing potions. He just had to say that he had quickly learned to wear protective goggles on his face when he played around in his lab. He talked on for quite a little while, perhaps about an hour. Having just finished up a rather exciting story, he paused for a moment, about to ask Kyda a question when he heard a soft snore come from her. He gave a soft smile and picked her up from the floor, cradling her gently as to not wake her up and be in what would most likely be an awkward situation. He would take her to his bedroom and pull the sheets and blankets back before laying her on the bed and pulling the covers up to her chest. He turned off the lamp on the night stand and made to leave. As he was turning to leave, he heard Kyda rustle, soft sounds coming from her before he felt her hand gently touch his own. He turned to look at her, his vibrant green eyes meeting up with her own sleepy yellow-green ones. Before he had a chance to ask her what she needed, she spoke. "Finneas... The nest-den ish cold... You should snuggle wiff me an help keep me warm... Please..." She gave his hand a soft squeeze before dozing back off. With a soft smile, Finneas took his goggles, belt, shoes and pants off, changing into something more suitable for sleep, like pajamas, before climbing into bed next to her. It seemed that as soon as he got himself comfortable under the blanket, she had rolled over, throwing her arm across him and resting her head on his chest. Though her fluffy ears tickled the underside of his chin, Finneas found himself comfortable enough to wrap his arms around her to make sure she didn't move too much and wake them both up.
