Still need to make a proper banner. Gonna see if I can't whip something up. But yeah, just had to make sure all the OM stuff worked in this theme. If anyone notices any bugs, let me know, but it should be fine.

Beats the hell out of the skin I was messing with. <.< This is actually far more fitting and awesome. I want to use that same pic up there though, that's a GREAT visual. I'll just pop a fancy ass logo on that bitch and it should be gravy.

Helicopters? I see rows of drills and powerlines, unless it's that thing off there to the corner. That's easily photoshopped out.

Ooooo you know what would be neat? A banner that rotates to different pictures. Like, I am reading over the verse descriptions trying to really understand these things, and I can picture the different environments and landscapes of these things. Would be awesome to have a banner that reflects each of these verses that just rotates with a page refresh.

So I whipped this one up using that image I found (which is pretty much the only one I could find which looks accurately like the Nexus). So yeah, I like that idea, let's start collecting landscapes and use a separate banner for each forum (which I guess means creating a bunch of duplicate styles ... groan) and have the same Omniverse logo over each one. I'll whip something up quick for now, and you can have at it in your own time.

Rotating banners is entirely possible, I've seen it done before. Different banners for different subforums is possible too, just a tad tricky and obviously involves making more banners.
And yeah I hadn't even read this thread yet- just IM'd Greg on steam- and was already so glad we have a different, better, skin.

Pretty cool, though if you can find something 'busier' and more epic that'd be even better. I'm just gonna go ahead and list what I'd like for each verse since everyone is probably going to start looking now =P
Coruscant: High-tech, bustling city. Probably best to represent the upper tier, in which case something a scene from Mass Effect's citadel is a pretty good idea.
Camelot: Something from Lord of the Rings, perhaps, or a small fantasy town. The capital city is Minas Tirith, so a good view of that from afar would be sweet.
The Tangled Green: Dense forest/jungle. The taller the trees, the better. The idea is that most of the time, the sky is largely obscured by the branches overhead.
The Vasty Deep: Big-ass ocean. Perhaps it could be a view of the sea from a beach or a resort-type area, to represent Costa Del Sol, the island where you arrive there. There's a lot of other good ideas in the thread, though some I can't use (like Sabaody archipelago, because it's drawn and I'd rather keep the banners realistic-style)
The Endless Dunes: Big valley, desert, wasteland. I was looking to see if I could find any with the view of a far-off town (the town with no name) but the towns all look too modern or have characters in front of them.
The Pale Moors: Dark, misty moors. Maybe something with a view of Dracula's Castle, or Darkshire (which is supposed to look like your typical creepy little Silent Hill town, not explicitly fucked-looking but not somewhere you wanna go. Or like a little Romanian town)
The Ashen Plains: Basically? Like Mordor. Or Blackrock Mountain. You get the idea.
The Frozen Fields: A snowy mountain range. It has one big, central mountain. Could also do a view of the outskirts with the glaciers and snow fields.
The Dataverse: Kinda like Tron. It's all totally mutable, being data, so it could be a lot of things.
The Spirit Realm: Like the Fade from Dragon Age. Again, totally mutable, but in the magical sense rather than the digital.
The Void: Like the Nexus, but with the colours reversed. Totally monochromatic but mostly black/grey. It also has white leylines but that'll be difficult unless you want to photoshop them in yourself (see the full description in the Void topic)
The Oververse: Clouds. Heaven, basically. Though the main city is rather unique, see the full description for that. Something from Skyward Sword might possibly work.
The Underverse: Hell, basically. Outland from WoW is a pretty great, really evocative portrayal of this.
That should keep us busy for a while =P We can just start with the main verses and work towards the others.
While we're on the topic, Laura, do you still have the PSD for the button? I was just trying to make a new one with that Nexus background (the current one is a little plain), but you'd probably do it better if you're up for that. Everything is good except the background, basically.

It's a dog with mad pissing skills.
So I was initially against having a typical filled-with-characters banner but I've been thinking with the majority of the banners now going to be scenery, it wouldn't hurt to have something more exciting for the index banner as long as it's representative of the mutable nature of the Omniverse. Just some sick-looking battle, and I know you probably know of some Laura. I'll be looking around in my non-work time but something from Black Rock Shooter would be appropriate since it looks sick as fuck and all the battles take place in an abstract, mutable world that itself looks sick and is very colorful.
