Beastmaker - an RP Boardgame? (NOT A NECRO) - Asriel Dreemurr - 08-21-2016 All right, so I was just looking through old threads I posted in when I was a total noob and I found this gem: http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=3944&pid=47273#pid47273 Post your ideas here. To get the ball rolling, I'll post my own. Plague Rat: (Source: Sentinels of the Multiverse) ![]() Intelligence: Plague Rat is a creature of instinct, not even close to being humanly intelligent. Strength: Plague Rat fights with his whole body, with teeth and claw and tail. He is peak human on the strength level. Temperament: Plague Rat will ambush his prey and attacks savagely. Speed: The speed of Plague Rat is peak-human. Heart: Plague Rat's heart, mutated by the pollution in the sewers where it lives, is an above-average, though not beyond peak-human capacity, pump which sends blood through his body at a rate to keep him nicely topped off. Skin: Steeled by living in the dangerously polluted sewers, Plague Rat's durability is well above peak human, easily surviving fire blasts, gun-shots and even a divine sword. Though it will succumb to attacks eventually. Joker: Plague Rat carries a disease that does no harm to it, but infects those it is near, turning them into deranged savages who spread the disease. The effect does go away after a while. RE: Beastmaker - an RP Boardgame? (NOT A NECRO) - Centurion - 09-18-2016 If I may be so bold, I would love to add to this interesting idea. Owl Griffin: (Source uknown) ![]() Intelligence: Despite being a bestial creature, the owl griffin possesses uncanny intelligence. It has been known to be on par with near-human level capacity for knowledge and wisdom. Strength: The owl griffin is not inherently strong, relying instead on momentum and long, curved, retractable talons to disembowel its prey. However, its size does grant it natural strength exceeding human standards. It is large enough for a human to comfortably ride (slightly larger than the average horse). Temperament: The Owl Griffin is a decently docile creature, having been known to be tamed by skilled and valiant humans. However, it is fiercely proud and territorial, pushing it to violence in the case of an invasion of privacy or a direct attack. In combat, it is direct, aiming to eliminate an opponent in one fell swoop. Speed: On land, the Owl Griffin is only so fast. It can keep up with faster creatures, but its stamina is limited. It much prefers to keep to the skies when it hunts. In the air, it can reach dizzying speeds and can react almost instantaneously to external stimuli. Heart: The Owl Griffin's heart is not special in any way. Its only abnormality is that it is scaled with its bulk. Its blood rushes quickly as it requires constant bloodflow to fuel its incredible hearing and eyesight, leaving it vulnerable to lacerations. Skin: A bird of prey, the Owl Griffin is not protected by any sort of hide or scale. However, its thin skin is covered in a thick layer of plumage, primarily granting protection from the elements. It is well insulated and sleek, allowing for lithe movements and agile maneuvers. Joker: Flight and silence are an Owl griffin's finest weapons. Its powerful eyesight and acute hearing allow it to track even the most elusive prey from miles above. Then, its thick feathers and lightweight bone structure allow it to swiftly but silently attack from above. Fear the silent hunter. RE: Beastmaker - an RP Boardgame? (NOT A NECRO) - The Vision - 09-18-2016 Siberian Sentry "Tiger" (Lynx Oculatus) (original idea, can't find my drawing, just imagine a tiger with bristly fur and six eyes) Intelligence: It has the intelligence of an average tiger, with an additional twist - to manage all the input from its senses, the Sentry Tiger's brain is often on overdrive. Strength: It has extremely strong jaws, and its claws are no joke, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Temperament: Will only attack when hungry or attacked, but will otherwise ignore you. It doesn't have energy to waste. A tamed Sentry Tiger is a hyperactive pet, but is a very good assistance animal for people with depression. They really like being rubbed behind the ears. Speed: They are about as fast as bobcats. They excel in burst speed, going up to 30 mph, but must take frequent breaks when running long distances. Heart: Its heart is actually rather powerful, because the brain is usually on overdrive trying to manage all the sensory input, and its tail needs to be constantly on the move to detect prey or predators alike. Skin: To maximize the senses, the Sentry Tiger has much thinner skin on its sides, behind the ears, and has tougher skin around the eyes and mouth. Joker: The Siberian Sentry Tiger is extremely sensitive. It has six eyes, and each pair works independently of the others. Its bristly fur constantly shifts, sensing changes in temperature and wind, and its tail is usually dragging on the ground to read vibrations. It can detect any animal larger than a mouse up to 8 meters away by tracking their heartbeat. Its nose and ears are highly sensitive as well. Basically, if you're near the thing, it's gonna know you're there and, if it's seen you before, it'll know what you are, too. |
