The Happy Traveler - Lord Dominator - 08-01-2016 To say that Dominator was in a bad mood would be accurate, but would also underestimate the level of frustration currently being experienced by the green-skinned woman. It had taken her days to find the gate back to this place, and once she emerged from the smouldering circle, what was her reward? Yet more walking. Squaring her shoulders, she pointed herself in the direction of the Tangled Green gate, and strode towards it with a single-minded determination. Eyes staring straight ahead, hands clenched into fists at her side. Every footstep was a heavy, determined stomp against the floor. She needed to go and have this meeting - she'd promised that she would - and once that obligation was fulfilled... she really, really needed to settle herself down somewhere comfortable and treat herself. Two weeks, and she felt like she was only barely starting to scratch the surface of what she needed to do to get out of this flarbing prison! Still... at least this time in the Nexus she moved with determination, certainty, and purpose. Wisely, it did not immediately seem like anyone else was going to try and get in her way. This time, she was determined not to let herself get distracted. RE: The Happy Traveler - Jack Darby - 08-01-2016 As she was headed to the gate of the Tangled Green so too was the party that she was trying to meet. He of course was not in the best of moods presently. Given that his trip to Camelot had failed to be anything remotely RESEMBLING useful to him and he hadn't learned well ANYTHING there he supposed the trip had been a total waste of time. What he needed to do was get himself more defenses for his base. Yet as he weak as he was he couldn't exactly defend his base himself just yet. The Storm Troopers were problematic and needed to be all shot. What he wouldn't give for some good henchmen who actually knew how to get a job done. Ricky had been competent back when he'd been brainwashed but now was useless. He didn't need a useless minion. What he needed was one who could serve his purposes but still had the potential to do more than that. "Damn it. The trip was entirely useless." Well it hadn't been entirely useless as Warren had managed to get the wrist blasters of his suit semi-operational. Upgrading them with elemental capabilities was going to take time and that was time that he didn't have presently. Warren had came from the Gate to Camelot. "Looks like I have to head back to Fort Zimmer." RE: The Happy Traveler - Lord Dominator - 08-01-2016 Dominator's tunnel vision, thankfully, was not quite all-encompassing. As she got closer to the gate, and saw - by pure chance - the man she was supposed to be meeting walking towards it as well, she paused mid-stride. What were the chances of this? She had been expecting to have to fumble around the countryside for hours, maybe even days, before she found the place flying her own flag. Now it looked like she could cut out the middle man quite significantly and just hop straight to the annoying meeting part. Not that she had completely prejudged the possibilities, but it is fair to say that Ricky had failed to make a positive impression on her. But hey, the kid had at least thought to show her a card with a picture of his boss on it. As it turned out, that was an incredibly useful thing to have done, because even across a distance she could recognise that silhouette. The characteristic armour melted back around her with a thought, enclosing her legs before swirling up the rest of her, adding height, bulk, and a distinctly masculine silhouette. Seven and a half foot of menace - always the best way to make a first impression on people who considered themselves anything like your equals, in Lord Dominator's opinion at any rate. "You there. Zimmer." Dominator's voice boomed across the distance, and she moved to interpose herself between the gate and Wild Card, the fellow villain quite suddenly finding his way blocked by Lord Dominator's frame. Her voice, too - heavily modulated by the suit - was a deep thrum of reverberating strength. "I am Lord Dominator. Your henchman, Ricky, wanted me to meet you. Let's make this quick, shall we?" Her arms folded across her chest, and that bright green visor of hers raised deliberately enough that she could look directly down on the other villain. "I am not a minion. I will not do your bidding. I am not going to let you look at my armour. I have no interest in starting a war and I very, very definitely will not be moving in with you, unless you can give me a mind-blowingly good reason why I should even begin to consider it. Was there anything else, or are we done?" As she understood it, those were the main things that Ricky had called out as being reasons to meet his boss. If she could fulfil her obligation without needing to traipse for hours through what was - according to the few people she'd spoken to on the subject - some sort of jungle-planet wasteland full of pointy-eared freaks and ninja, she would be very happy to save herself the trip! RE: The Happy Traveler - Jack Darby - 08-01-2016 Warren listened to her words. So Ricky had done a rather poor job of trying to persuade any primes that he encountered to pledge themselves to the banner of Wild Card. This meant that Ricky was going to have to be terminated. After all what good was a useless minion? When she basically said she was not the minion type and was uninterested in the war or moving into Fort Zimmer he groaned beneath his armor. For now he had less of a chance of getting together a good sized army than he had initially dared hope. Several moments of silence passed as Warren began to think. What could interest this prime into moving into his base? Eventually he could try to corrupt the individual so they could see his point of view. Finally ideas began to hit him like a ton of bricks. "Well for starters you are still relatively new here. I myself have been to a few worlds... presently. Coruscant and the Tangled Green are two of the worlds I've visited. Since you are new here you probably don't know much about the Omnilium or how to make it work for you. I've also been to Camelot lately and discovered how to work Omnilium some there. You staying at Fort Zimmer would make it easy to teach you if you wanted to know. But if you don't..." Warren started to walk off a bit. This would be her deciding point. Whether or not she wanted to learn from a semi-experienced Prime or go things alone. Of course Warren's plans for this prime were more insidious than she probably knew. "I'll leave it up to you though." RE: The Happy Traveler - Lord Dominator - 08-01-2016 "You and your minion have some real problems with assumptions." The helmet melted back, and Dominator's face was revealed - the woman stepped around in front of Warren again, her hands moving to her hips. "Let me help you out, give you a few hints." She said, her voice now far more cheerful - feminine, rather than being a terrifying rumble of barely-contained rage. "I've been here long enough to work out what I need to know. I've already disproved at least one of the assumptions your boy tried to pass off on me, and I've been to another world, where I've made allies." She threw her hand back, encompassing the gate as she continued to talk - apparently completely uncaring that they are having this discussion in a very public place, where all manner of secondaries could, and probably would, eventually feed the information back to the factions that control this place. "For allies to work, I need to know who I'm dealing with, what your goals are, and why. You also need the same from me." The rest of the armour melted away, leaving her still quite towering at six foot tall - but rather less physically imposing. She wants to look Warren in the helmet as openly as she can. "But here's the thing." She said, one hand returning to her hip. "You're looking to start a war. I've been here - metaphorically speaking - ten minutes, and I know that! Do you really think the people you're trying to provoke are dumb enough not to? I mean, its possible, but it still doesn't fill me with confidence. And I have no idea why you want to start this war." Stepping to the side, the woman's hand raised to twirl circles in the air. "Don't get me wrong, I like a good war as much as the next world-conquering super-tyrant, but if you're going to get the most out of it, you need to plan. You need to know who your targets are, what makes them tick, what parts of them to twist so that they snap in the best possible way. But more than that, you need to have an idea of what you want! How are you going to win?" A rather theatrical sigh, and she made sure she was back in front of Warren for the final element. "And on top of that..." She shook her head, "You and I? I think we've got very different understandings of what power is. Anything you can give me? Isn't power for me, it is just a loan. A debt. Omnilium, knowledge, a bed - hah!" As though that idea was somehow just innately funny to the green-skinned would-be tyrant. "None of those things are power. Power is the ability to do what you want, and have nobody able to stop you. I'm gathering power, on my own. You're asking me to use my power to help you. But you seem to think you'd be doing me a favour by letting me give you my time, my mind and my resources, and that... that's just dumb." RE: The Happy Traveler - Jack Darby - 08-01-2016 "My plans right now essentially amount to let Him and Them Fight. By manipulating both Coruscant and Camelot, I'll make both sides kill each other and then when the time comes they'll all be helpless when I march in once I reach the peak of my power and claim all their turf as my own. Winning for me involves making the idiots murder each other so I don't even have to lift a finger at this point." Warren said that to her with a smile on his face beneath his helmet. If he could truly manipulate those asinine morons in order to have them kill each other off it would save him all sorts of trouble. Plus there was an added bonus of not actually having to do much to handle them presently. Warren examined her. "Unlike most of the villains I've grown out of the conquer the world phase. My goals are simply to build myself somewhere to stay which I've already down and work on my own projects. Yet before I can do anything it seems I must get stronger... a lot stronger. Even manipulating the Empire and the Kingdom to be at each other's throats will require abilities I don't presently posses. A problem I plan on rectifying 'Dominator." As Warren spoke those words he considered something. Dominator might make a valuable ally in the future. "In the future perhaps we could align our forces. I'll be looking to gather those who dislike the heroic types into a group at some point. You'd make an excellent member." With that he'd walk around her slowly. For he was tired after all he'd done in Camelot. Of course magic training was bound to take it out of well... anyone. "I'll see you around. I have some things to put together in order to ensure that I'm ready." With that he'd head off into the Tangled Green. RE: The Happy Traveler - Lord Dominator - 08-02-2016 Dominator was happy enough to remain quiet whilst Warren spoke, though she rolled her eyes at the thought that he was supposed to have grown out of anything. As far as she could tell, he was still doing the exact same thing. If he really just wanted a home, that was the one thing he was supposed to have that she didn't, but he clearly wanted more; he wanted to conquer the Empire and the Kingdom - after making them weaken each other. From what she'd been able to discern about this place, that was a goal on par with conquering a world. In fact, in her experience, probably a lot more difficult than just conquering the one world. Then he was talking about allying again, even though he didn't have the faintest clue what her motives actually were. Ah well. You could lead the villainous horse to water, but you couldn't make it poison the well. "Sure, sure, of course." She lied with a happy smile. "You come find me when you're putting together this 'anti-hero' group, and we can totally chat about it. I'm sure you won't have any problem at all finding me. You go home and deal with your important business now, I'll just go... over here! Byeeee." Picking a direction at 'random', the woman strode directly away from the Tangled Green. She still ought to check out at least one of these other places before she made her decision. The twin palm trees crossed over one another looked like it could be just what she was looking for right now; somewhere she could put her feet up before having to return to the far more serious business of her work. |
