Seeing as how my OM got reset to 5000, I've assumed that my alt is no longer a thing. Just wanted to make sure that my assumption was correct

Nah, your alt is still there. You have to EARN the OM, not keep it.

Haha yes, you still have an alt. I was saying the requirement is that you have to EARN 8k OM to unlock it. There's no rule about keeping your OM above 8k to keep the slot.
