A world without He-man - Skeletor - 06-05-2016 Skeletor sat atop his throne, his hooded skull largely invisible in the perpetual gloom of Snake Mountain. His nails rapped consistently against the arm of his throne, as he plotted. He-man continued to foil every plan he had to gain access to Grayskull, and managed through sheer luck to power his way through every trap Skeletor could dream up. it was an outrage, an affront to the power he possessed and the schemes he had set into motion. The brainless dolt had mocked him, laughed at him. It was time to put an end to the foolishness, He-man would not live long. Skeletor was determined. Skeletor glared down at his minions, loitering uselessly in the alcoves and corners of his throne room. Did they have nothing better to do? With an aura of menace, Skeletor stood up. raising one arm he pointed his Havoc staff outwards to gather his minions’ infernally short attention-spans, Panthor gave a growl from behind him, ensuring even fools like Whiplash and Clawful were paying attention. “Listen up, you mold-headed meat bags! While you were all sitting around being pointless mongrels, I have finally come up with a plan that is assured to…” Then Skeletor’s world vanished, and he was left in darkness. “…beat He-man…” Skeletor’s non-existent eyes narrowed as the white being appeared in front of him. The being began to drone on, reminding Skeletor of one of Eternia’s Elders. He had nearly taken their power innumerable times... perhaps he could do the same to this one? Skeletor considered for a moment, fleshless face impassive. There was no He-man present to prevent him this time. “I don’t care, you eyeless ingrate!” he shouted over the being’s talk, and pointed a finger at the white figure, preparing to unleash a magical blast. Nothing happened, and the figure completely ignored the action almost like it was expecting that… Skeletor thought through his permanent grimace. The Warlord waited impatiently as the figure finished his pronunciation, some kind of vague threat, then opened his mouth again, preparing to get some answers. He would know who had dared to defy his magic without even showing he had done so. But before he could speak the being vanished again, and Skeletor found himself in only blackness once again. “Enough of these games! I will not be treated like some trivial jester, to be … aah!” Skeletor’s rant was interrupted as he found himself deposited unceremoniously into a large fountain. He emerged soaking wet, and livid with rage. “Insufferable! I will not be treated in this manner!” he shouted up at the blank white sky, shaking both fists in barely contained fury. There was no response, and after a moment, Skeletor glanced around at his surroundings trying to make some sense of the strangeness around him. “Someone is lacking in originality.” He announced to no one in particular. Skeletor’s eye sockets narrowed, he was missing his Havoc staff. With a lazy gesture he attempted to call it into being, the mystic energy seemed strange, almost diluted, like there was something new altering his abilities to use magic. He could picture the staff appearing in his mind, and he was sure he was preforming the right spell to create it, but instead of the ram-skull staff he usually gained, he found only a strange ball of iridescent rainbow light. He could sense the staff, or rather the idea, the conception of the staff. it was somewhere inside of this sphere. He would get it back. Yeller Ground leaned up against the edge of the Fountain of Infinity. He was well concealed by the Elven cloak he had been given by his commander, but even so, he never felt comfortable when he was on Fountainwatch. There was something about the possibility of entirely new beings appearing, with the no concept of the world in which they lived. There was no telling what sort of strange powers the new prime could possess, and in their disoriented state, even the noblest of heroes could behave… dangerously. Nevertheless, with the steady rise in Imperial forces patrolling the fountain itself, sending military soldiers to scout for new primes was becoming no longer an option. His commander, Sir Brigmund, would never admit the truth, but to Yeller, the change in tactics could only mean one thing: The Empire was winning the battle for the Nexus. The young boy shuddered slightly, and pulled his elven cloak tighter around himself. If the Empire really was gaining the upper hand in the Nexus, it would mean they would be able to establish a foot hold in virtually any of the verses, and the Kingdom might not even be aware of their plans, let alone able to actively combat them. That was why he had signed up with the garrison at such a young age after all, to fight back against the empire and protect the ones he cared about. His job was important, after all, it took only a handful of primes to utterly flip the tables of a battle. Every prime that joined the Kingdom was one less prime that might join the Empire. There was no price too high to prevent that from happening. The boy perked up from his slouch as he heard something. Someone was talking in a rather loud voice, and from the snippets of confusion Yeller could hear it was most likely a new prime. He began to edge his way around the side of the fountain, doing his utmost to remain hidden. His job was clear: find info on the prime, then figure out where they are headed so that actual diplomats can be sent to recruit them. Yeller peered around the edge of the fountain, getting his first glimpse of the prime. Blue skinned and hooded, the seemed to be focusing intently on something. Peering closer he saw the unmistakable hue of summoning. Based on the muttering the prime it seemed that things were not going as they expected. This one was definitely fountain fresh. Yeller snuck back around the edge a little before pulling out one of the scrolls he had been given at the start of his mission. He unrolled it and did his best to read the incantation in his head first since mispronouncing to badly could lead to what his squad mate had dubbed “seriously bad consequences”. Once he was sure he had the words correct, he spoke them aloud. There was a faint glow, though it made next to no impact on the whiteness around it. Yeller felt strangely distant, and the voice of the squad’s wizard echoed into his mind. “this is Fountainwatch, right? Do you have something to report?” came the willowy voice, the spell giving it a strangely echoing tone that put Yeller ill at ease. “The fountain is acting up again. There’s a prime here already, and it seems like there could be more coming.” Yeller looked up as the prime gave a shout of triumph, brandishing a horn headed skull atop a large staff. Yeller’s eyes widened as he saw the skull that lurked underneath the prime’s hood. “Nothing can withstand the might of Skeletor! Nhe, hee hee he he he!” Yeller gulped. “Now would be a good time for you to send some people to the fountain…” RE: A world without He-man - Rin - 06-05-2016 Rin stood in the white vacuum. Her feet seemed to be standing on nothing as she looked down at them, but she could feel a floor beneath her scuffed up boots. Rin stood, but how had she gotten there? She must've walked to the spot, but all that was behind her was a large fountain, pristine water falling from the top in a glistening sheet. Surely she had not walked out of the fountain. She was still dry. It was like awakening from sleepwalking and finding oneself pouring orange juice into a bowl of cereal or dimes. The recently awakened stares at the bowl of orange juice and dimes, wondering what on earth she was going to do with it now. Rin looked up at the sky, if it could be called that. This white chap, Omni, or whatever his name is was watching her from somewhere. Probably above. "So what do you want me to do now? Entertain you? Is that why I'm here?" She was feeling very annoyed with it all. "What shall I do? Sing for you? Maybe do a jig?" She sighed exasperatedly at the lack of response. "What do you call a fake noodle?" Rin waited a moment out of courtesy. "An impasta." She hadn't been expecting laughter, but maybe if her jokes were bad enough Omni would let her leave. Or maybe kill her, that was the other option. A loud splash sounded from behind her. Rin turned quickly to see a purple hooded figure land in the middle of the fountain. It brought her usual smile to her face. What a clumsy way to arrive. The person spoke with a highpitched crackle, shaking both fists at the sky. "Insufferable! I will not be treated in this manner!" Rin felt a surge of relief that she was not the only one stuck in this blank world. Maybe they could do a comedy act? Or perhaps a duet... Then the person started looking around. Rin immediately ducked behind the fountain's edge, trying to contain a giggle. Maybe some choreographed dancing would be nice. "Someone is lacking in originality!" The person said to the sky angrily. She glanced about as well. It was rather boring. But maybe that was the point. Omni had no imagination of his own, so he needed others to be imaginative for him? The person in the fountain fell silent again and Rin dared to look over the edge at him. In his hand was the same glowing substance Omni had given her. She looked around at her own hands and didn't see it. Where had it gone? The fountain man began grumbling irritably to himself as Rin's ears picked up another sound. It seemed to be chanting of some sort? Spellcasting maybe. It would have been mistaken for the wind, but there was no wind in this place, only emptiness and the fountain's water falling. There were two people here, what fun! Rin took a deep breath and sprung out of hiding with a huge grin on her face, addressing the purple person in the fountian. "Hi, I'm Rin! Were you trapped here as entertainment too?" RE: A world without He-man - Skeletor - 06-05-2016 Skeletor whirled around in surprise. “Who dares to approach?” he asked, havoc staff extended towards the voice that had sounded from behind him. Skeletor’s eye sockets narrowed slightly as the green-haired being stepped out from behind the edge of the fountain. The warlord scrutinized the newcomer before continuing, trying to determine the severity of a threat the stranger presented. She was smaller than the average person, a child perhaps, although she seemed unusually sturdy of build for one so small. Skeletor straightened up, planting his havoc staff firmly on the ground of the nexus. This pathetic youngling was no threat to one such as him. The girl had said something about entertainment. Skeletor would not be made a mockery of! If what the short fool was saying turned out to be true, then there would be someone who would have to pay for this affront. “I am not a puppet to dance on someone’s strings! Who would dare to do such a thing to ME!” The answer came to his mind the very moment that the words passed through his lipless mouth, “the Elders of Eternia…” Skeletor turned away, one hand on his chin as he pondered this revelation. His intuition had been right before. That being in front of him had been one of the Elders. Skeletor had been unable to use his magic them… likely because the Elder was preventing him from doing so. Casually he raised his staff towards the fountain’s wall, firing a blast from the top of his staff. The edge of the fountain was blown away, and crystal-clear water poured out, quickly absorbed into the unchanging whiteness of the Nexus floor. His magic had certainly been returned to him, though it still felt weaker than before he had arrive here. Perhaps the Elders were limiting his powers to keep him contained here? “So… the Elders think that trapping me here is going to work, do they? Myah!” Skeletor turned his back on the fountain, and again regarded the green-haired girl before him, eyeless sockets staring her down without expression. “I am Skeletor, Master of Evil!” he declared, and pointed towards the girl forcefully. “Now. You will tell me what you know of this place! What is it about this prison makes the Elders think that it will be enough to contain my power?” Yeller removed his hands from his head, getting up from where he had cowered when the hooded prime watched with growing alarm, “There are two primes now sir!” he spoke into his own mind, transferring the message to the wizard on the other end. “Yes, I hear you, boy!” came the slightly irritated voice of the wizard, “I am already making my way to the commander now. If that idiot hadn’t given me a room at the top of all these infernal stairs!” Yeller could feel his own panic rising as the hooded prime began making demands of the shorter one. The skeleton seemed dangerous, and would probably attack the diplomats they sent, but the green-haired prime seemed friendly enough. Yeller fervently hoped that the hooded prime would not attack her, as he would be next to useless in the case that he needed to help her fight back. He carried a sword, but had been given only basic training with the weapon. Fountainwatch was almost entirely a reconnaissance focused position, intended for those members of the Kingdom’s defenders who were too young or too weak to be relied upon in a raging battle. Yeller had always known this, but as he watched he was aware of just how powerless he would be if there was a conflict. He DID have the wand that every Fountainwatch member was given, but it only had one charge, and its effectiveness against primes was varied at best. He would have to sit and watch, hoping that the primes would continue to delay until the troops he had called for could make it to fountain. RE: A world without He-man - Rin - 06-05-2016 Rin was slightly taken aback at first. It was not that the skeleton face bothered her, her author had never created her enough of a personality to care about physical appearances too much. It was the fact that this hooded figure seemed very angry. It made sense, she supposed. Rin was not too happy about being trapped in here herself. But that was no reason to take it out on the fountain wall. It was a very nice fountain. "I don't know anything about elders." Rin shrugged. "I was sent here by that white figure. Omni, was his name I think. But is this really a prison? Or is it a stage to perform on?" It seemed to be a rhetorical question as she did not pause to let the skeleton man answer. "But I don't think you should destroy the fountain. It's the only thing Omni seems to be able to design, so I think we should be supportive of his creativity!" She grinned broadly. "You said your name was Skeletor? That's a very boring name, because your face looks like a skull. You seem more like a more cryptic name would suit you best." Rin started chuckling at herself. "Get it? Cryptic? Crypt? Cause you're a skull?" She looked to the sky. "Was that entertaining Mr. Omni?" RE: A world without He-man - Skeletor - 06-06-2016 “Meddlesome brat!” Skeletor fumed, “Do not make a mockery of me…. You will regret it.” As he stared the child down however, Skeletor continued to reflect on the information that she had just given him. He thought back through his memories, to before that… fateful day. His phantom face burned with the acid, and Skeletor fought not to let some semblance of the pain show in front of this weakling before him. He fought through the pain, wracking his brain to remember. Was one of the Elders named Omni? Keldor knew the names of the Elders, of course Keldor knew. He had studied them for years before planning his attack on the Hall of Wisdom, learning their motives, searching out their weaknesses. He was hoping to find some crack in their alliance, a gap where he could split the council of Elders apart; to turn them on each other. Keldor had been disgusted by how balanced and noble the Elders were, and had decided to abandon intrigue in favor of an outright attack. But Skeletor found himself unable to recall even basic information about the Elders. He could not remember their names, who was in charge of them, how they had obtained their power, all of it was faded and dull in his mind, replaced with memories of a muscle-bound barbarian who continued to ruin every move he had made. But there was no He-man here. Skeletor returned his attention to the green-haired girl in front of him, doing his best to keep his seething anger hidden. In an almost sappy voice he asked, “I do not believe I am familiar enough with this Omni you speak of. Do you know where I could go to speak with him? There are many things I…wish to speak with him about.” He finished, deciding that sounded harmless enough. Once this foolish child told him where to find the Elder, he would be able to defeat the being and claim his power! Then Skeletor would possess the power of one of the Elders! He chuckled darkly to himself, then stopped as he had another realization. He glanced down at his staff, hanging from one hand, his arm still trembling slightly from the spell he had cast just moments before. He was weaker, there was no mistaking it, his blast should have utterly obliterated that fountain, instead only a few chunks of the wall had been destroyed. Even as he watched, the pieces of the wall seemed to be fading away ever so slightly, and the broken part of the fountain seemed to be growing back… Skeletor’s knees felt weak, and he leaned on his Havoc Staff for support. They had drained the power from him, and he hadn’t even been aware it was happening. In this weaker state how could he hope to fight an elder of Eternia? Who knew what they would do if he failed the attack. They had already shown they had the ability to banish him here, and strip him of his then fearsome powers. What punishment would they have in store if he failed the attack? “On second thought, girl. Do you perhaps know if there is anyone else here I might speak with instead?” Yeller continued to watch, the hooded prime seemed less aggressive now, almost deflated. Perhaps they would actually stay here until help arrived? “Your message has been delivered, son.” Came the wizard’s voice yet again, “Sir Brigmund has dispatched a squad of our fastest troops to accompany Sir Ptolemy to the fountain.” Yeller rolled his eyes and groaned as the wizard continued, “Sir Ptolemy will be handling the negotiations.” Great, Yeller thought to himself as he continued to watch the primes, there goes any hope of smooth negotiations… RE: A world without He-man - Rin - 06-06-2016 Rin watched the Skeletor guy lean with exhaustion on his ram staff. Was he old? He didn't look like it much. Not her type anyway. But skullface seemed to be taking this whole imprisonment much worse than she was. Perhaps it was worse than Rin had first thought. Had skullface heard rumors about this place before? Was it some sort of inescapable prison or torture arena, disguised as a blank canvas? There were too many questions that didn't have answers. Rin grinned in excitement. That meant there was a puzzle to be solved. Either that or a death match. In the back of her mind, Rin had a feeling she was supposed to be fighting skullface. That was entertaining right? Like a gladiatorial arena. But she didn't want to fight skullface. He seemed fun. "Anyone else you could speak to?" Rin looked around. "I don't see anyone. But you heard that chanting just a bit ago, didn't you? I don't know if that was Omni or not, but it sounded different to me." If that had been someone else she heard, then maybe it wasn't a gladiatorial arena after all. Rin felt relief at the thought. As a fanficition OC, she was designed by default to dislike violence. Of course, in her backstory she had years of training and self defense so that she could hold her own against swarms of lame orcs if she had to. "But even if there is anyone else here, I don't know who they are. I just arrived myself, you see." Rin smiled helpfully. "I don't know where Omni is either. I imagine he's up there somewhere." She pointed to the blank canvas sky. RE: A world without He-man - Skeletor - 06-20-2016 Yeller watched with wide eyes as the Heroic Asgardian cannoned into the new prime. As the combatants clashed a short distance away, Yeller franticly attempted to contact the wizard again. “Thor! Thor is here!” He practically shouted into his mind’s connection to the wizard. “You didn’t tell me that you guys were sending a prime!” There was a slight pause before the wizard replied, “…we didn’t send Thor… what is he doing?” the wizard asked with evident concern. “He’s fighting with one of the new primes! The skeleton one!” Yeller thought with excitement. He was watching the Asgardian and the warlock as they clashed a short distance away from the fountain. The Wizard swore, “That’s not good. Get the other prime out of there, Sir Ptolemy will be arriving at the Camelot gate any moment, but he’s not preparing for a fight. Take the other prime and warn Sir Ptolemy. If there’s a fight happening at the Fountain, we can be sure those imperial curs have noticed it by now.” Yeller nodded, although the action was entirely pointless to communicate his understanding to the wizard he was speaking to. “Understood.” He said, then mentally refocused himself on the situation at hand. The two primes were still locked in combat, now farther away from the fountain. The green-haired prime was sitting on the edge of the fountain, stubby legs dangling contentedly, as she watched the fight. Yeller threw back the hood of his elven cloak, getting up as the semblance of stone fell away from him. “Quickly! Come with me!” he said with his best attempt at confidence, and extended a hand towards the startled prime. RE: A world without He-man - Rin - 06-22-2016 Rin stared at the boy wide eyed. Here she had been, happily watching the fight, thinking about whether she would have to fight the winner or not, when all of a sudden, a kid popped up shouting something. Rin stared at him, then the extended hand, then back at his face again. Was this another opponent for her to fight? Maybe it was like a tournament, the winner of each battle would face off the other and the champion would be let go. That seemed reasonable. Except this new arrival didn't seem to want to fight. It fact, he seemed scared. This could be to her advantage. If he didn't know better, Rin would be able to take him out before he even knew what hit him. If only she had a weapon. "Come with you? What for?" She mused as a little bubbly feeling welled up in her right hand. She glanced down at it to see a liquid emerging from it, covered in a rainbow sheen. That stuff Omni have given her had been in her hand all along! What a silly place to keep it. RE: A world without He-man - Skeletor - 06-23-2016 What for? Uh… For the first time Yeller had to consider the benefits offered by joining Camelot. As a secondary who had been summoned to populate one of the many villages of Camelot, it had never occurred to him that some people might not have a stake in the perpetual contest between the Empire and the Kingdom. Yeller paused before answering the green-haired prime, considering the options he was offering. Choosing a side in the conflict would definitely mean that the new prime would inevitably find themselves thrown into dangerous situations, but that was what primes went looking for any way, right? It was undeniable that every new prime was immense help to the Kingdom, serving in all sorts of capacities to help them regain their ground in the effort against the Empire, but what did the prime get out of the exchange? “Safety. Assistance. Protection. Power. Fame.” Yeller hadn’t realized he said the words out loud, until he noticed the look the prime gave him. “Uh… that’s why you should come with me! I belong to a powerful faction, and we are looking for recruits. You see, we are in frequent conflict with…” he broke off as the all too familiar whine of Imperial Speeders reached his ears. “Get down!” he said, and pulled the prime behind the fountain. Peering out, he saw several Imperial soldiers forming up around Thor and the other prime. It did not look like things would be going smoothly. “frequent conflict with them…” he said to the prime, and pointed at the Stormtroopers. Their white armor making them difficult to keep track of in the Nexus. The cunning warriors. They know how to use camouflage really well… Yeller thought as he watched the Stormtroopers and the primes shout back and forth. Yeller turned back to the green-haired prime. “I don’t think they saw us… we should be okay.” He looked back just as a pair of troopers came into view, sweeping around the edge of the fountain on foot. Yeller squeaked in a moment of panic, before ducking back behind the rim of the fountain. “Not okay! We are very much not okay!” RE: A world without He-man - Rin - 06-23-2016 It was all too much to process. Rin crouched behind the fountains edge, having roughly been dragged behind it before she had a chance to react. What was this new guy blabbering on about? Factions? Recruits? Her head swam with questions as the kid continued mumbling about conflict or whatever. Was this not the simple dueling arena she thought it was? This changed everything. If it wasn't an arena, then what could it possibly be? This place seemed to be an enigma. To be thrown into a place full of strange people in such a wide expanse. If the point really was entertainment, it all seemed needlessly complicated. Could there be another purpose to it all? The shedwarf quickly glanced over the top of the fountain wall to see strange figures in what looked to be some cheap white metal, circling the fountain, strange looking crossbows in hand. "Mahal! What manner of warriors are those?" Rin ducked down again looking to the kid for answers. RE: A world without He-man - Skeletor - 06-24-2016 Yeller looked back at the prime in some surprise. "It's the Empire." he said, biting back the rest of his reply as the Stormtroopes drew near. He and the shedwarf slid backwards around the edge of the fountain, Yeller fingering the knife he carried. He might be able to take one of them if he had the element of surprise... maybe... but he definitely couldn't handle both of them. Yeller had always wondered whether he would die fighting. It was a decision he had made almost rashly, joining the Kingdom’s militia. He had been younger even than now, barely old enough to be allowed to join. His mother had been furious when she found out. Not with him, she was wholly unsurprised by his choice, but with King Aragorn and the others who had agreed to let a child join the army. Yeller and his father had tried to console her, after all, Yeller was only allowed to join Fountainwatch, which was rarely anything more than boring, and the money he brought in helped to support them when his father was too ill to work. It wasn’t any more dangerous that working around the large animals of the farm or the forges and metal of a smith. And Yeller had always been a level-headed and observant young lad. His Da had said so, at least. Yet here he was, preparing to assault to professionally trained, armed and armored soldiers. Sure he had the element of surprise, but what good would it do if his knife couldn’t even pierce their armor. He briefly considered putting the cloak back on, hiding, abandoning the prime he was here for. There’s a prime just sitting behind me! He realized with a start. Who knew what powers the Prime possessed? Perhaps he would not be dying this day after all! He looked back at her, “Hey, I’m gonna need your help with these two. Are you ready?” he asked questioningly. RE: A world without He-man - Rin - 06-24-2016 She could hear the strange, metal boots of the white warriors circling around the fountain. The Empire they were called? Strange name. Even stranger weaponry. But that didn't mean it wouldn't be deadly if they chose to use it. Their static-masked voices reminded Rin of the drones she had fought before escaping to the internet and then getting trapped here. The kid glanced over at her and whispered something about being ready. She looked over him and his apparent lack of weapons. Besides a small hunting knife, he had nothing to defend himself with. She grinned at him with confidence. "Don't worry kid, I got this." Rin sank back against the wall, clasping her hands together in front of her chest, firming up her stance. She had only done this twice before, but she knew her magic power would always come through in a pinch. Rin searched inside herself for that familiar bubble of force. Strangely, there was not just her normal power, but also the rainbow liquid welling up there. This odd thing Omni had given to her. What did it do again? She had forgotten. The dwarf decided to ignore it for now, and focused on gathering the clear white power inside her, gathering it at her core. Hopefully she would be able to gather enough before the Empires found them. What was this? The power that had taken so much work to gather before, suddenly came to her. The force gathered so quickly inside, that in surprise, she released it. It burst through the clear air of the Nexus. The force, like a translucent shell of white energy, blasted outwards, knocking everything nearby backwards. The storm troopers grunted as the shell, and a few loose stones from the fountain wall, were launched in their direction, knocking them to the ground. Rin's head swam for a moment. She leaned heavily against the mostly stable fountain wall, trying to focus again. The kid next to her had been shoved over a few inches, the wind knocked out of him momentarily from the force. The stormtroopers were starting to regain themselves a few feet away. The static voice sounded from one to the others. "There's something over there!" "Check it out." Rin smiled uneasily. "Oops." RE: A world without He-man - Thor - 06-25-2016 Thor felt his anger rise as Skeletor stood over him. How did this blue skinned menace defeat him, the God of Thunder? He was tougher, stronger, and commanded the powers of the storm, and yet this two bit sorcerer was able to beat the prince of Asgard. Thor’s knuckles turned white as he clutched Mjolnir tightly. It was then that Thor heard the hum of engines meant for speed and the command he remembered from his first time using a gate. Quote:“Freeze Primes!” Thor looked up to see a squadron of soldiers in white armor with black guns. Stormtroopers. He had fought these weaklings before and even in his injured state the God of Thunder was fairly sure he could take out this handful of soldiers. Then he saw the one with blast-scorched helmet. A veteran soldier with obvious signs of surviving what should have been a fatal blow was usually a bad sign. When that same soldier was carrying a bigger weapon than the rest that always meant big trouble. Thor would take him out first. Quote:“Nhe he he! I don’t think you understand the situation, Captain! I’m the one who gives orders here! You and your men will bow to me!” Thor stood as the lasers began to fly. A blast hit him in his shoulder. He shrugged it off and began to spin his hammer, deflecting another shot. Then he threw his hammer. A stormtrooper dropped. Thor looked at the fountain in time to see a boy, his garb and gear obviously from Camelot, and a short girl being surrounded by stormtroopers. He caught Mjolnir and began to spin it. Just as he was about to fly to their aid, however, Thor watched the girl blast the white warriors away with some inner magic. He deflected another shot with his spinning hammer. It was time to leave. The God of Thunder launched into the air. “To Camelot!” Thor began to fly full speed toward the gate to Camelot. RE: A world without He-man - Skeletor - 06-27-2016 Skeletor gave a “Myah!” as the stormtroopers opened fire. He dove to the side, rolling away from the first burst of fire. Getting to his feet, he saw that the Asgardian was under attack as well, not friends of yours then? Skeletor thought, but was too focused on staying alive to say anything. With his magic, Skeletor continued to deflect the laser-fire that peppered the area, but was unable to muster the strength to properly retaliate. This was a situation where having minions was helpful, he decided, as the Asgardian sounded a retreat and took to the air. Minions made sure you were taken care of, or they would regret it. Skeletor watched the God of Thunder turn tail and flee, and Skeletor focused his energies, preparing to teleport away to a safer distance. Nothing happened however, and Skeletor took several hits as the stormtroopers continued to open fire. The Scourge of Eternia went down on one knee, body wracked with pain and exhaustion. He had forgotten his weakened state, and the fact that he had no support meant this was a dangerous mistake. The green-haired brat from before seemed to have found an equally small friend, and the two of them were fighting more stormtroopers over by the fountain. His former foe had the right idea, Skeletor decided. Managing the strength for one well-placed blast to a speeder bike, and using the ensuing explosion as a distraction, Skeletor turned and fled. Yeller was flung onto his back by the prime’s blast, as were the stormtroopers. It was clear the prime had done her best to keep him from taking the worst of the attack, but even so he was still shaking the cobwebs from his head. He got back to his feet, and immediately rushed one of the downed stormtroopers and jammed his dagger into the weak point in the armor between the shoulder and the helmet. The man screamed and pushed Yeller off of him, clutching at the wound. Yeller went tumbling as the second stormtrooper recovered, but Yeller pulled out the wand he had been given by the wizard at the start of his watch. Only for emergencies! And we mean it! He had been told with a stern look. Well, if this didn’t count as an emergency he didn’t know what would. Pointing the wand at the remaining stormtrooper, he activated it, and a whoosh of flame washed over the remaining stormtrooper, scorching his plastoid armor and setting fire to the rubber mesh between the plates. The flaming stormtrooper stumbled to his feet, screaming in pain, as the flames coursed over his armor. He staggered away from Yeller and the prime before diving headfirst into the fountain in an attempt to extinguish the flames. Yeller turned back to the first stormtrooper and aimed a kick to the face, knocking him back to the ground. He grabbed the trooper’s blaster and opened fire, riddling the downed soldier with laser-fire. The Soldier went limp and Yeller dropped the overheated blaster, hands slightly scorched. He looked back at the two other primes. Thor was in retreat, the hooded prime following slower. He turned back to the green-haired prime. “Follow Thor, We have to get out of here!” he shouted, then began sprinting towards the gate to Camelot. Thor flew through the air, course direct towards the Camelot Gate. He looked back to see the other three of them following on foot, and realized that they were not safe. The remaining eight stormtroopers had gotten back onto their speeder bikes, and would quickly overtake the two primes and the Camelot scout. As he watched, the stormtroopers arced around the fleeing primes, keeping enough distance to evade the occasional blast of magic from the Necromancer. The two primes and the Camelot scout pulled up short as the Stormtroopers formed a ring, blocking their path. Thor realized that the stormtroopers had given up on chasing him, and were content to simply catch the other three. The stormtrooper with the scorched armor leveled his clearly modified blaster-rifle. “Oh, you primes aren’t going anywhere. Not after that little stunt. You all going to surrender?” The Camelot Scout gave a shout of defiance, but the Stormtrooper fired a casual shot that took the boy in his shoulder and sent him spinning to the Nexus floor. The Scorched Stormtrooper addressed the two primes “Or do we have to keep fighting?” RE: A world without He-man - Rin - 06-28-2016 Rin stayed siting on the ground, trying to let the nausea pass. It was not as bad as when she used to activate her powers, but the feeling was still unpleasant. The kid scrambled to his feet, and started taking on the two stormtroopers. Rin thought it was a foolish move until he started pouring fire out at them from a wand. So he was a wizard. There were all sorts in this place but it seemed all of them had some form of magic or another. As her head cleared and the nausea subsided, Rin got up, looking around for some means to escape. A little ways away there were the strange riding beasts that the empire warriors came in on. If she could get to one of those and get out of here that might not be a bad idea. She jumped in shock as skullface aimed a blast at the vehicle exploding it. Rin glared as the blue hooded guy turned tail and ran. The kid stepped away from the two possibly dead empire warriors and yelled at her to follow Thor. He must've been talking about the thunder god, because he started sprinting after him. Rin looked back at the other riding beasts. There were too many of the white warriors around to get to them. She scrambled to her feet and followed the kid. Her boots echoed off the white floor before the sound disappeared into the emptiness. The hum of the riding beasts sounded loudly from behind her as the empire warriors mounted to pursue them. Rin caught up to the kid quickly, looking over her shoulder at the fast approaching enemy. This was never going to work. "We can't outrun them you know!" She smiled at him, trying to break the news lightly. "We're probably gonna die here." It would be exciting anyway, dying. The kid glanced over at her and picked up his pace. As if that would help. It didn't. The riding beast cirlced them, cutting off their chance of escape. The garbled, metallic voice of the warriors told them to stand down. Rin looked at the distance between her and the warriors. It was too far away for her power to reach them. "Never!" The kid shouted, or something to fight that effect. The hiss of a lazer fire streaked through the air, taking the kid down. Rin watched him spiral onto the ground. It hadn't been a direct hit, but it was close. She moved over to stand protectively between the empire warriors and the wounded kid. She may not have known him, but he seemed to be trying to help. And these warriors definitely not. Skullface did not seem ready to give in anytime soon, but it was hard to read his expression. "What do ya think skullface?" She asked him with an uneasy smile. "Wanna fight this thing out? Or give up cause you don't have the guts." She chuckled. "Get it? Cause your a skeleton? So you don't have guts..." She could feel the hatred penetrating through hollow sockets. "...Yeah I think I'll shut up now." Rin swallowed looking around again. They were really in a pickle this time. Better start getting ready just in case. Maybe this Omnillium stuff would be of help? RE: A world without He-man - Thor - 06-30-2016 Thor felt the air rush past him as flew forward as fast as human car. Blaster shots stopped flying past him. He had to make sure that the camelot boy and the green hair girl were still safely following. He turned in his flight and sure enough, the enemy had surrounded them. He flew at full speed toward them. He watched the boy take a shot and drop to the floor. Thor slammed into that stormtrooper at full speed. The trooper went flying as his two adjacent comrades turned their blasters on the God of Thunder and fired. The blasts hit Thor’s to little effect as his Asgardian armor absorbed the blasts. With a roar Thor dropped to one knee, slamming Mjolnir into the ground and releasing a discharge that knocked both troopers off their feet. Thor rose to his full height in time to feel a powerful blast strike him from behind, causing him to stumble forward. For a moment he thought Skeletor was attacking him once again, but realized that the self proclaimed Lord of Evil was not behind him. He turned, ready for a fight. Another blast hit him in the chest, forcing him to take a step back. The trooper with the scorched helmet stood before him, modified blaster pointed at him. “Not so easy to shake of my blasts is it? There’s plenty more where that came from. Retreat now and we’ll let you take the boy. We just want the new primes.” Thor begun to twirl his Hammer. “You primes never know when to take the easy way out.” Thor saw the two troopers he had struck with his Thunder quake pick themselves up. Either these stormtroopers were stronger than the ones he remembered or he was weaker. Omni was trying to weaken him. He would not be stopped here. He would find the Smiling One and wipe the smile from his face. Thor raised his Hammer. Lightning thundered down from out of nowhere into Mjolnir making the Nexus seem darker in comparison. Thor pointed his fully charged Hammer at the Lead Stormtrooper, and fired. When the lightning stopped, there was no longer a stormtrooper. He looked at the others. “Anyone else?” The troopers hopped onto their bikes and began to speed away. Thor walked passed Skeletor with a scowl, threatening him to try something, to where the Camelot boy was and picked him up. Thor through the boy over his shoulder and looked at the small girl. “Follow me to Camelot and you will have food and protection from the many threats of the Omniverse.” He looked at Skeletor. “As long as you leave the people of Camelot alone the same offer is yours to take.” Thor said with a grimace, as if saying that had left a bad taste in his mouth. He took out his orb and called upon its power to bring three horses into existence. The entire process took about ten minutes for entire process took about 20 minutes. He placed the boy on the back of one. “Take a horse if you intend to follow.” Thor said. Then he heard something in the distance. His eyes widened as he saw what was coming. The troopers were on their way back with reinforcements. “Take a horse!” Thor yelled as he leaped into the saddle of the one with the boy on the back. Thor put the horse into a full gallop. He needed to make it to Camelot, for the boy’s sake. Quote:Bolt of the Thunder God - tier 1 supermove - 1sp RE: A world without He-man - Skeletor - 07-01-2016 Skeletor watched intently as the Asgardian created three mounts for them. He had no concept of the place called Camelot, but judging from the garb of the Thunderer, and of the boy that Thor seemed determined to protect, Skeletor could assume it would not be dissimilar to the Eternia that he had sought to conquer for so long. The rainbow ball shimmered and glowed, its glow casting shimmering reflections on the assembled primes, as the mounts began to take shape. Omnilium had many uses it seemed, and Skeletor Idly summoned his own, watching the swirling rainbow dance in his clawed hand. His gaze drifted to the scorched stain that smoked nearby. The Stormtrooper had not survived long under the concentrated lightning, even his armor had been all but eradicated. He himself had received similar treatment from the God of Thunder, and survived. It was quite clear that the Asgardian possessed raw power in a sense that even he could appreciate. The other two seemed less impressive, the boy was half-dead after a simple laser shot, and the girl refused to take the situation seriously. The green-haired waif seemed to possess some sort of power that she didn’t use for some reason, like she was afraid of it; the weakling. Skeletor turned his attention back to the only real threat now that the white soldiers had run off. Their power was certainly stronger than the Eternian guards that Skeletor was used to, but not dangerous enough that they posed any sort of serious threat to one such as him. The world, the warriors, those may change, but in the end the game stayed very much the same. The horses whinnied and pawed the ground of the Nexus, nostrils flaring as the beasts adapted to their monochrome surroundings. This power was truly something to be explored! The Asgardian placed the wounded boy on one of the steeds. He was clearly untrusting of Skeletor, as well he should be, since in Skeletor’s weakened state they were evenly matched. Yet despite the beating he had just received he still offered Skeletor a horse. A true hero… that could be useful… Skeletor mused. There was a distant humming, and all heads turned to note the swift approach of more stormtroopers. Support had arrived. Swiftly the God of Thunder sounded a retreat, and the primes mounted. Skeletor found himself wishing for his battle chariot, or perhaps his favorite pet Panthor, as the motions of the galloping horse were unfamiliar and awkward beneath him as it rushed across the unyielding floor of the Nexus. They were being hotly pursued, and Skeletor was already mildly surprised at the endurance of the beasts to continue sprinting this long. He watched his surroundings, the troopers were some seventy meters behind them at this point, and Skeletor couldn’t be sure whether or not they were gaining in this flat white world. A couple of their war sleds were double-manned, and a few of the passengers seemed to be attempting to line up sniper shots, though the speed of the chase made aiming their attacks quite difficult. Far off in the distance, Skeletor thought he could see another group approaching them from the front. It was too far off to make out more than their number, but it seemed to be about a dozen warriors also on horseback. The Green-haired girl seemed to have noticed them too, for she was no longer watching their pursuers and instead was trying to make out details about the approaching group. “Friends of yours, Asgardian?” he asked the Thunderer with a slight chuckle. The Prince of Asgard was either unable to hear him over the clatter of hooves, or was pointedly ignoring his question. Skeletor refocused his attention on the distant warriors, this was a trap, and plainly so. With those warriors to aid him, Thor would likely be able to subdue the Sorcerer with only minor difficulties, then cart him off to whatever dungeon they felt like. Heroes can be so predictable he thought with another chuckle, I will play your game Thunderer, but know that I will beat you at it in the end! RE: A world without He-man - Rin - 07-02-2016 "I wonder why the glowy stuff is rainbow colored. Did you know homicide is socially acceptable way to get cash among rainbows? Cause there's a pot of gold at every rainbow's end." Rin was bored. The Thunder God seemed focused on doing... something with the Omnilium, and Skullface seemed strangely untalkative as he brought out his own omnilium to look at. How long did she have to wait here? As long as she was stuck in this spot, however, she might as well make use of it. Her powers were useful in a pinch, but she needed a better way to defend herself. A weapon of some sort would be nice. She looked about the blank canvas of the nexus. Not even a rock to bash people over the head with. Hopefully this Camelot place would have something more than emptiness. Probably not. Omni's creativity was limited after all. But maybe there were others at Camelot. Like the Empire Warriors, except not trying to kill her. Rin liked the sound of that. The sound of horses pawing the ground knocked Rin from her thoughts. Where did those come from? Had Thor summoned them somehow? Maybe he was a god of horses as well. He instructed Rin and Skullface to get on one to go to this camelot place. Rin eyed the horses with distaste. Her feet probably wouldn't even reach the stirrups. But before she had a chance to ask for a pony instead, the roar of the metallic riding beasts sounded in the distance. The empire warriors were returning. Stirrups or not, Rin was up in that saddle in an instant, urging the horse forward after the retreating thunder god. Skullface was right behind. It was lucky the horse seemed to be well trained. Rin did nothing but hang on for dear life. She watched the warriors nearing behind the small fleeing group. Don't look back. As long as she didn't look back, they'd get away. Rin faced her eyes forward, noticing for a moment how limp the kid was looking, slung across the back of the horse like that. Then something else caught her attention. Up ahead, another group was coming. Rin peered into the distance, trying to make out if they were friend or foe. Distaste filled her eyes as she realized who, no, what they were. She tightened her hands around the horses reigns and gritted her teeth against the wind. "Elves. I hate elves." RE: A world without He-man - Thor - 07-06-2016 Thor saw the cavalry but did not actually look at them as they approached. He was too focused on pushing the beast beneath him even harder. If he could get the boy to one of the cavalry he and the rest could hold off the soldiers of the empire. He had learned from his night drinking with the gorons of death mountain that only he and the other people they called primes were immortal. He doubted this boy was a prime. He was not sure what exactly separated secondaries from primes, but he assumed it had something to do with Omnilium. If the God of Thunder had bothered to look at the approaching party he would have noticed that it was lead by a female dark elf. Thor might have even remembered her from his first arrival in Minas Tirith. However, as he did not look up, he did not remember the beautiful elf maiden. But she remembered him. She had taken note of the big warrior back upon his first arrival in Minas Tirith. He was handsome for a human, she would have admitted that, but she had taken notice of him because of how he reminded her of an alliance soldier. She had not had a chance to talk to him during his time in the barracks, but she had seen him and his red helmed companion on training field often enough. She was sure she would soon find out what kind of man he was. She watched him barrel toward her with almost a score of stormtroopers hot on his tail. Humans always showed their true colors under pressure. She had never known anything but the Omniverse, but she hoped that this man new of Azeroth and Kalimdor so that she might hear more of the race of her origin. The stormtroopers were closing in too quickly. She drew her blade and pushed her mount as hard as the God of Thunder pushed his. Then she launched her blade spinning through the air to land blade first in one of the troopers vehicles. Thor reached her as the explosion caused the the other soldiers of the empire to pull back. Her sword returned to her. Thor did not have time to admire her skill and spoke quickly as it would not be long before the white washed warriors regrouped. He pulled yeller off of his horse. “I assume this boy is yours. He needs medical attention. I will hold off our pursuers.” The night elf took the boy and handed it off to one of her men with instructions to ride swiftly to the nearest town flying the banner of the kingdom and seek a healer for the boy. Then she turned back to Thor. “I assume you are one of the Chosen.” It was not a question. “I and my men will aid in the stalling of the enemy.” “Watch out for the blue skinned fellow.” Thor said watching him gallop up. “He is chosen as well and fashions himself the lord of evil. He is on our side, for now.” Thor raised his Hammer summoning the Lightning that was his right and fired it at another speeder, causing another explosion. “Let the battle begin.” Thor said under his breath. He charged right passed the green haired girl struggling to control the much larger animal. The troopers artillery switched targets to the bigger threat. Quote:Bolt of the Thunder God - 1sp RE: A world without He-man - Red-Hood - 07-06-2016 The walk back to Camelot took much longer than when he first arrived to the Ashen Steeps to aide the God Mind. Red still felt it was a waste that Nealaphh decided to banish himself. After all of that hard work he had slaved over, what did it amount to? Sure he had achieved his goal with great costs but to kill oneself and not enjoy the rewards of one's hard labor seemed ridiculous to the the vigilante. Red couldn't help but compare him to the Batman. They both had noble causes but when it came down to it they can't do what is needed to be done. The self proclaimed false God should have known that losses would have been inevitable. But mostly Red felt deeply sad at the lost of another friend. Anger was an easier enotion , its raw power could be used to create beautiful destruction. Where as this sadness he felt just empty and alone. Red picked his head up and stiffened his jaw. He didn't need anyone, he survived on his own before, he could do it again. Red grew tired of the constant walking, with out much thought the orb spawned from his hand, egging him on to use it. He began focusing on a motorcycle Dick once rode. After a few moments the beautiful vehicle appeared in front of him. With one fluid motion Red swung his leg over the bike and turned the key, the engine roared to life as he sped off. ********** Red brought the bike to a full stop as he neared the Camelot gate. He leaned against the handle bars as he watched the scene in front of him. A battle had erupted in front of the of the gate. A dozen or so stormtroopers sped towards the gate on some sort of high tech motorcycles. Another smaller group sat on horses, waiting for the incoming assault. Red was to far still to make out the warriors defending the Camelot gate, he knew of course he would have to join this fight. One of his obligations he had in joining the army of the Kingdom, which didn't bother him, Red still had a deep hatred for the empire anyways. With a smile he turned the key, the engine roaring to life once more. As Red sped near towards the battle hoping to get into the action before it was over, a brilliant arc of lighting shot forth, striking one of the trooper's mounts. The explosion caused the trooper to be flung forward. He fell to the ground and slid for several feet before coming to a stop. Red was filled with hope at the spontaneous materialization of such pure energy. He had only known of one man in this universe who could bring the power of the sky to his beckoning call. Could it be that Thor had some how survived? No, it was impossible, he had seen the charred remains of his friend. But his hammer was missing.... Red Hood shook the thought from his brain. He didn't have time to torture himself with the loss of his friend. There were stormtroopers to kill. Finally he was in striking distance of the troopers. Red brought his feet up onto the seat and aimed the bike at a group of unsuspecting troopers before leaping from the bike. The now empty bike raced forward, a trooper looked to his left just in time to see it barrel into him, knocking him from his bike. Red landed on his feet and immediately started sprinting towards the group of troopers. He let loose a volley of batarangs, a few only met their mark. He lined up with what he hoped was his allies, pilling his pistols free from their holsters and aiming at the still shocked troopers. "Ha!! A worthy attack my friend!" A boisterous laugh and booming voice resounded from behind him. Red took a moment to turn and look at the man who had yelled the encouragement. To his great surprise his eyes met that of the pearly white smile and brilliant blue eyes of the mighty Asguardian. "Thor!! You're alive!" Red shouted with glee, "How are you still kicking? I saw your corpse" "Paaah, death has no keep on us here my friend. I shall explain at a later time. For now, we fight!" Thor yelled as he lifted his hammer above his head. Red nodded, but be neath his red helm a brilliant smile displayed across the vigilante's face at the sight of his once fallen friend. |
