The LoVE Chart - Sans - 05-30-2016

So, just today I was having a discussion with Desco and Weiss about the topic of LoVE and what it stands for certain people.

For those who haven't played the game, the definition the game provides is
A way of measuring someone's capacity to hurt. The more you kill, the easier it becomes to distance yourself. The more you distance yourself, the less you will hurt. The more easily you can bring yourself to hurt others.
That got me thinking. How, exactly, did Sans in UT determine how much LoVE you had, aside from counting your EXP points? What did the chart look like?

So, for fun, I made this. It goes from LV 1, the minimum, to LV 20, the maximum. I will put it in spoilers to prevent people from spoiling themselves on how LoVE and EXP work.
LV 1: The very definition of a Pacifist. Someone who, no matter what happened to them, never would intend harm on any creature. Do not interfere, instead, encourage such behavior.

LV 2: Someone who most likely killed through self-defense only, and most likely heavily regrets each death. Do not interfere, instead, encourage behavior towards LV 1.

LV 3: Someone who most likely killed through self-defense, and for the most part regretted each death. However, they might also have felt distant or somewhat cold during some particular deaths. Do not interfere, instead, encourage behavior towards LV 1.

LV 4-9: Someone who has killed through a combination of self-defense and purposeful murder. They most likely regret their actions once brought up with the consequences of their actions. Do not interfere, instead, encourage behavior towards LV 1 as best as you possibly can.

LV 10-14: Someone who has killed through a combination of self-defense and purposeful murder, and feels rather distant and cold even when brought up with the consequences of their actions. Do not interfere. If attempts have been made to steer them towards LV 1, then all attempts at encouragement to change should cease and close observation should start.

LV 15-18: Someone who has killed primarily through purposeful murder, with little to no instances of self-defense. They feel little to no emotion regarding the deaths they have created, and some might even relish in it. Do not interfere, instead, observe their actions closely. If they start to transition to a lower LV (around LV 9 or lower) then resume encouragement.

LV 19: Someone who has killed completely through purposeful murder, and holds absolutely no remorse towards his/her actions. Someone with LV 19 is a very dangerous threat, one close to cataclysm due to their power. Interference is necessary as soon as a LV 19 is confirmed to prevent a transition to LV 20.

LV 20: The definition of a sociopath/pyschopath. They kill without qualms, they feel nothing but their selfish desire for immediate satisfaction, which they only satisfy through murder. Someone with LV 20 has or is in the process of committing genocide, or has killed a very large number of people. LV 20's are the most dangerous due to their very real ability to wipe out large numbers of people to the point of extinction, and have potentially world ending power. They must be stopped at all costs.
I might also put in characters from media's and put in their LoVE's if people want me too. I might even try to figure out other character's LoVE's on this site! Man, this'll be fun.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Chloe Price - 05-30-2016

Mick Rory would be an LV19.
At a random thought, I decided that Oliver Queen(who I am not planning on playing, but still decided to think of) would be LV3.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Tartaros - 05-30-2016

Tart is probably somewhere in LV 10-14, possibly dipping into LV 15-18 on particularly nasty occasions. Violence is somewhat ingrained in his nature, after all. Still perfectly sane and personable though. :V

RE: The LoVE Chart - Kalli - 05-30-2016

Kalli is certainly a LV 3 or LV 4-9, the regret with killing is strong with this one. Most of the time.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Jams Bolero - 05-30-2016

Jams is technically a LV 1, since even in a fight he wouldn't actually kill anyone if he won. At least a level 2.

Paige would be along the lines of LV 3, maybe 4-6 in some scenarios. Not necessarily blood thirsty, but certainly won't take any garbage.

RE: The LoVE Chart - ElFailzalot - 05-30-2016

Hoo boy. Now ain't this interestin'?

I'd peg Adam down somewhere in the LV 4-9 range. He's done some terribly things, but he's full aware of just how terrible. But then again, he'd also do it again. :Y

Colonel, on the other hand....easily in the LV 10-14 range. Probably on up to LV 15-18. He literally doesn't have the capacity to have any emotion about such things, so at least he doesn't take any joy from it, but he certainly doesn't feel bad about it.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Sans - 05-30-2016

Ballad, atm, is definitely on the high end of LV 15-18, if only because of his lack of remorse for the people he's killed so far. The only thing keeping him from being straight up LV 19 is other deaths he's regretted, and even that won't stop a transition since he plans to go genocide.

Frisk, right now, is LV 1. However, once she enters the medium, she'll go to LV 2 and depending on what happens after that, LV 20.

Sans is roughly LV 2. He isn't a straight up pacifist, otherwise why else would he have mock fights?

RE: The LoVE Chart - Jade Harley - 05-30-2016

Jade is probably in the LV 4-9 range. Not sure about Crowley, maybe LV 2 or 3.

RE: The LoVE Chart - The Humble Sage - 05-30-2016

I think the Sage would be in the upper end of 4-9 or the lower portion of the 10-14 range, according to this chart... He is all about making the most effective choices, and if killing is required to get that done then he will, and he won't really feel too bad about it (unless some outside circumstances break through) That being said, he doesn't enjoy killing, and would prefer another solution if one is available.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Schwi Dola - 05-30-2016

I think I'd put Desco on 16 of the chart while TBG is at about 10. Possibly 9. She kills because it right and when it is right she does not regret her decision.

Desco's sister DESX is at 18.

Her father, Genjuro Kazamatsuri would probably be at 19. But murder for him is just another tool for science.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Magus - 05-30-2016

This is interesting.

I feel like Magus probably peaked back in his original canon at 15-18. It was probably less than that by the end of the game.

He's probably around 10-14. Maybe a touch higher depending on the situation.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Jams Bolero - 05-30-2016

The way you phrase it makes it seem like LV fades away over time, like how a muscle gets weaker when you don't train with it. I mean, you say things like "if they make a transition to LV 9," so is this the case then?

It's mostly in response to the fact that, in Undertale, you start off with LV 1 at the start of each game session, with it increasing as you do the required things to increase it. In a sense, the encouragement part is to get you, in UT, to NOT increase your LV this way.

Now, since this isn't UT, that sort of thing would require a bit of translation, shall we say, so I just put that in.

With it brought up: In a sense, it kinda does. If someone with high LV suddenly decides, for one reason or another, he/she heavily regrets their actions and wishes to atone for it, then after a while if they do start to atone, their LV goes down. However, this does not mean that being at, say, LV 19, and then going "Oh, I don't actually like killing. Guess it's back to pacifism," will immediately reduce your LV. You'd have to prove you've changed to do that. And if you then decide to go back to your old genocidal roots, you can more or less forget about ever lowering your LV at all.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Yukki Kazuto - 05-30-2016

It's a very safe bet to put Yukki in 10-14, maybe at 15-18 if things go bad for him, but he doesn't relish in killing. He sees it more as a job that has to get done, and couldn't care less who's on the bad end of his barrel.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Marisa Kirisame - 05-30-2016

Chara is Lv 20 but here she is at a Lv 2 or 3

RE: The LoVE Chart - Madotsuki - 05-30-2016

Madotsuki fits within the 4-9 range-- being a rebel's dirty work.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Dell Conagher - 05-30-2016

I think Dell would be anywhere between a 9 and a 11, as he is a mercenary (aka a cold killer) but he's not a psychopath and therefore feels emotions, be those regret or not.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Amber Veritz - 05-30-2016

Amber would definitely be a 5 on this chart. She uses her self defense, and if it means killing her target for the greater good and staying alive, then so be it.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Erik Vrell - 05-31-2016

I would probably put Erik at the 10-14 mark. He doesn't go out of his way to hurt people, but if he gets the order to kill someone he'll do it without a second thought.

RE: The LoVE Chart - Darth Vader - 05-31-2016

Jon's definitely a level 4-9. Sometimes edging level 10-14, but it depends on his personal opinion of the person he's killing, honestly.
