Well, lol, requests were never open in the first place, but these are still some nice suggestions for artstuffs! I'll consider drawing your characters, but it's mostly just whatever I feel like doodling. xD

I usually start in grayscale before adding in colors, scribbling with the smallest pencil tool possible to get the vague shape that I want. Then, I go over with different brushes (a watercolor-type usually with opacity super low) to add in small or large areas of brightness and darkness. That way I know if I have enough variation in my dark-light values.
