More specifically, prehistoric things. Iunno. I adore ancient marine reptiles, they're the neatest.

EDIT: Ye let's talk about spooky crypts and stuff, too!

Been there thrice. Great place. Also featured in Runaways and Mighty Max.

Dead things, eh? What about Homestuck. :frogbon:

Naw but seriously, that sort of thing is alright. I actually used to want to be an archaeologist when I was younger. Went to the National Museum of Scotland earlier last year too. They had a cast of a shark's jaw up on one of the walls.

Ooooo, that sounds so cool! Big Grin I went on an educational tour of Ireland, Wales, England, and Scotland last summer, and while in Scotland we visited this amazing peat bog museum! I can't really remember a name, though. But it was so interesting!

There was this one museum nearer to where I live, still some states away, that had hundreds of animal skeletons on display. http://www.museumofosteology.org <--- It was really, really awesome, and I kind of wish I'd brought my sketchbook or at least taken more pictures.

Those birds look f**king horrifying

RE: Let's talk about dead stuff! - Jade Harley - 03-05-2016

I think the bird labeled 5 was one of the top predators until sabertooth cats and dire wolves moved in and became competition. They could like, kick something down, bludgeon it to death with their beaks, and then RIP AND TEAR, BLOOD FOR THE BIRD GODS or something along those lines.

There's this cool new-ish book out, though, I only looked at it for a second in a shop but it's about how dogs were domesticated! I can't remember if it was Fiction or what, but it's called The Dog Master, I believe. Psychology Today also had some really neat articles on domestication floating around, they're an interesting read.

In other news, this one game called The Isle is on Steam in early-access and it's basically herbivorous dinosaurs versus carnivorous dinosaurs. Humans might be introduced and then that'll be a whole new can of worms to figure out. But, new dinosaur species are being added (including a quetzalcoatlus or something) so that's going to be super amazing.
