The Reaper Of Souls - Koal - 02-16-2016 He felt empty. His body, once filled with the essence of human souls, felt hollow and cold... Was this death? The former Archangel did not think so. His mind whirled at an unbelievable pace, processing his final moments with a critical eye, discerning what might have happened. Nephalem... Malthael's voice resounded throughout his surroundings echoing back and forth, filling the space he occupied with the rasping quality of his words. He clenched his hands, anger filling his being. All of his plans... His victory over the Great Conflict ruined by a mere mortal. The Angel tried to lift a foot, intending to begin pacing but found his movements were restricted by a force not visible to him. Malthael held in his anger, for it served no use here. He needed to wait and see why he was here, and not dead as he should be. The Angel of Death bowed his head, meditating. After all, what was death if not patient? ---------------- Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know... Malthael's head moved up from int's downward position, regarding the white man, in front of him. He radiated power similar to that of an angel, yet not quite as...pure. His body was featureless, save for the moronic grin plastered to his face. He stood a few feet in front of the Angel, cupping an unknown object in his luminescent hands. Quote:“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing... The being opened his hands, a small orb of energy gathered in the alcove formed by his hands, pulsing with an undeniably powerful energy. It levitated a few inches above his alabaster skin. Compelled to touch it, Malthael held out a claw-like hand, willing the orb to his grasp. The miniature sun floated to his dark armored hand and seemed to seep into his very essence. Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others... The Reaper tilted his head slightly, contemplating these words. Of course there were others. He could not be the only one who had somehow ensnared this deity's attention. He lowered his arms, nodding slightly as if to acknowledge what the man had said. His vision began to go dark once more, and his last sight was a grinning face. Quote: Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn... That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.” Re: The Reaper Of Souls (Open) - Koal - 02-18-2016 Malthael's vision returned eventually, bringing him to a different scene altogether. A blank white landscape stretched out before him like a blank slate. The potential to be everything, yet being nothing. He fluttered his wings, stretching them a bit. His armored boots struck the ground as he turned around with a sort of grace only an angel could possess. A fountain lay before him. Immaculately carved out of stone and marble, the structure was obviously a very fine piece of art. The angel approached the waters of the fountain, his wings stretched out behind him. The clear water began to frost over as the Angel approached the liquid. quickly forming into ice. Malthael did not have a face, but his aura was most contemplative. He stretched out an armored gauntlet to tap the surface of the ice, the metal spearing easily through the thin layer of frozen water. With a flick of his wrist, the ice shattered with the sound of breaking glass. He let out a deep sigh as he stared at the water. He could feel them, he could hear them. The human souls calling out to him like a haunting melody. He had once heard these voices before, just after the worldstone had been destroyed. He had pursued the Path of Wisdom for all the wrong reasons. But he had learned from his mistakes, and he felt that they would not be made again. He clenched a fist and turned away from the still waters, his wings whipping around him. His gaze spanned the breadth of this world, his gaze searching for anything... It was faint, but there. A small shape, too far away for any detail to be made out on the structure. Malthael stretched his wings, bunched his legs, and leapt into the air... |
