Character Test: Eobard Thawne(CW Flash spoilers) - Chloe Price - 02-13-2016 Yep. What the title says. I'm gonna be testing the character, Eobard Thawne, from the CW Flash. This is gonna be a far future character - I'm not even at 8K Omnilium yet. Re: Character Test: Eobard Thawne(CW Flash spoilers) - Chloe Price - 02-13-2016 Character name: Eobard Thawne Character source: CW The Flash Character history: (I wish I could be more specific at points, but the story didn't reveal some points yet in CW canon.) Eobard Thawne, also known as the Reverse-Flash, is the worst enemy of Barry Allen, The Flash. He's from the 22nd century, so I'll just say that now. He always wanted to be the Flash, but eventually, after gaining his speed, he found out that he was destined to be the Flash's worst enemy. He couldn't become him. So he became his opposite. His enemy. His Reverse. After a few battles with the Flash, he traveled back in time. Cisco used his powers - his ability to 'see through the vibrations of the universe' and see things that aren't near him, or even look into the future. He used these powers to detect the Reverse-Flash, who had 'returned.' We'll get into that soon. Barry and the team didn't believe Cisco when he told them about it. After an attack on Mercury Labs, Christina McGee confirmed that the Reverse-Flash has returned. Cisco then got another 'vibe' with his powers. A vibe that Eobard captured Christina McGee and forced her to build a 'Speed Cannon,' as the S.T.A.R Labs team called it. She did so...And Eobard sent a vibrating fist through her chest. It phased through her skin and ribs, and hit the heart. Cisco tells the team about this vision, and it turned out, the vibe was at least an hour before it happened - how Cisco discovered he could see the future. Barry puts a stop to it before it could happen, and took down Eobard just before he could kill Christina McGee. They then locked him into a cell under S.T.A.R Labs, and Barry and Cisco both head down and talk to him - something which was fated to happen. Then, Cisco fell under the affects of altering the timeline. He went under medical care, with seizures and a bloody nose. They soon figured out that Cisco is having these effects because locking Eobard up in the cells under S.T.A.R Labs meant he never went back to his own time. They then used the Particle Accelerator to send Eobard back to his own time, so that Cisco would live. Further in the future, Eobard went back in time again and went further into the past. He had one intent with this; kill Barry before he got his speed. Future Barry traveled back in time to stop him. After saving younger Barry, older Barry left Eobard in the Allen house. So, naturally, Eobard took out his anger on the rest of the Allen family. He killed Barry's mother and framed his father. Eobard then lost his speed, because he so drastically changed the timeline that Barry never became the Flash, and thus, never created the Speed Force. So, he kills Eobard Thawne, uses 22nd century tech to steal his identity, and recreate the S.T.A.R Labs Particle Accelerator multiple years early - the Particle Accelerator which exploded and caused the event that gave Barry Allen his speed. And it did just that. The Particle Accelerator exploded, and the black matter created a freak storm. The lightning from the storm hit Barry, who flew into a table of chemicals, and went into a coma. All the while, Eobard watched from a 'time room' he set up in S.T.A.R Labs in secret...And waited. After the Particle Accelerator, he faked being paralyzed by the explosion, got a wheelchair and put a device in it - it would temporarily give him speed so he could pop in as the Reverse-Flash every once in a while and motivate Barry into training harder. He also convinced Joe West - Barry's legal guardian after the murder of his mother - to give him Barry, in hope that S.T.A.R Labs could heal him. Joe eventually accepted his terms. Long story short, they healed Barry, realized his speed, and started helping him become a hero. I'm not gonna elaborate on that, because this is Eobard's story. Anyway, eventually, he was found out. By Cisco Ramon. In the room with the Particle Accelerator stuff in it. Eobard Thawne explained his motives for doing all this, said he grew attached to everyone on the team, including Barry, said he "loved [Cisco] like a son," and killed him. In the same way he attempted to kill Christina McGee. Before Barry could be told what happened, he traveled back in time, erasing this event. But Cisco still remembered...And that's how he discovered his powers. After telling the gang, they eventually figured him out entirely. He had Hannibal Bates - one of the metas, who could shapeshift into anyone - recreate the entire scene, same place and everything. Little did Hannibal Bates know, there was a trap ready...And Joe West shot and killed him. After this, Eobard captured Eddie Thawne - his [insert correct amount of "great"s here] grandfather, and explained more to him. He re-activated the Particle Accelerator, had Gorilla Grodd attack Team Flash, and even witnessed Barry get the help of the Rogues to move the metas out of the containment facility under S.T.A.R Labs - all before he finally had to show himself. He explained more to Team Flash(the 'more' being not remembered yet), and eventually, they agreed to help him turn the Particle Accelerator into some weird time machine to send him back to his own time...In exchange for Barry being able to fix what happened to his mother. Barry went in first. However, when Eobard was just about to head back to his own time...He was taken to the Omniverse. Physical Description: Eobard's form is normally vibrating at super speed when in suit, to a point of nearly completely obscuring him into just a yellow blur. His eyes are also normally glowing red when in the suit. Stats: ATK: 2 DEF: 1 SPD: 4 TEC: 3 Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength Proficiency - 1000 OM Ranged Attack Proficiency - 1000 OM Starting Powers: Super Speed - 1000 OM. Red lightning trail created as he runs. Phasing - 1200 OM. Performed by vibrating at the same frequency as the object he's trying to phase through. More tiring than using Super Speed. Starting Moves: Speed Bolt - 300 OM(Requires Ranged Attack Proficiency) Eobard Thawne starts this move by charging energy by running around the opponent at super speed. This takes around 5 seconds. He then abruptly stops and throws a lightning bolt at the target. Does fairly weak damage, but the bolt itself is as fast as Eobard is. I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.
