I'm just coming to the end of Red Seas Under Red Skies, the second Locke Lamora book. So far this series is honest-to-gods the most enjoyable thing I've read in my adult life. Entertaining and intriguing throughout, and hilarious and heart-wrenching at times. It's just SO gods damn well written.

Just reading Totem's and Taboo by Sigmund Freud.
Guy is crazy and his arguments are stupid. That is partly because he presumes primitive man had the same kinds of minds of neurotics and describes them as such, and latter on points out how much his description of them as similar seems to work for his other arguments as self justifications for his portrayal of them as such in the first place.
In my analysis of Mr. Freud, based on his works an reports about him, I have come to the conclusion that he was a man driven by fear of being considered unimportant.

...I get sidetracked sometimes. Oh! Also, The Unbearable Lightness of Being. But I can only read a little bit at a time because it makes me anxious.

As a result of our Dresden here, whose name I should invoke to get him to come back, I've been reading the Dresden Files. Very entertaining and way more violent/adult than I kinda expected from the tone I'd gotten. It's actually great that it can manage that and still be funny as fuck, that's something I strive for.

Dresden Files looks like it would be an enjoyable read (from what Wikipedia tells me).
I finished a Clockwork Orange recently. Currently a few pages into Flatland.

The whole "modern day explanations of mythical phenomena" is really played out, but I found myself really enjoying the Dresden Files' take. It's very internally consistent. Magic is both logically staightforward and interesting with a lot of room for cool writing on the author's part. The actual stories are not A+, but it's entertaining and good stuff.

Currently not reading anything. For some reason I don't really have a passion for reading, usually. Though, sometimes a book does catch my interest.
I gotta find the energy to get back into the Dark Tower series.

The novel was written by Dave Eggers.

Reading King of Thorns, the second book in a trilogy. Set in a fantasy setting from basically the bad guy's perspective. What makes it interesting (apart from the book being about an evil kid growing up and wanting to conquer the empire) is that it's set after human civilisation is collapsed. Pretty interesting.
