Nexus Hopping - A.S.P.E.C.T - 02-08-2016

The Crawler's first leg passed through the portal back into the Nexus area barely a few hours after it had first disappeared. The rest soon followed, carrying Aspect through the gate. Loaded with plenty more data to work with now, Aspect had a more informed view of the situation. The gates lead to different parts of the Omniverse, each one different from the others. Some highly advanced, others magical and even some completely inhospitable towards everyone and everything not from it. But Aspect had found a curious notion in the Dataverse that he had decided to check out and so he was on his way to find out.

The Nexus was as white and empty as it was when he first arrived, no changes there. Aspect turned his visual receptors towards the South focusing on his next stop. He had gathered the information from Camelot already and he was now on route to the next and closest stop, the Pale Moors. A unique place to say the least. Aspect wondered what sort of creatures he would find there after reading pages about the horrors of life in the Pale Moors. In charge of the Pale Moors was a creature named after a highly romanticized character from an ancient book called 'Dracula'. While humans from his Earth believed in its existence enough to still make movies about it after 1515 years, Aspect wasn't bothered.

If it really was the same blood drinking European immortal as the one from the books and movies then Aspect had little interest in it. As the Crawler continued to stamp its way to the Pale Moors gate, Aspect went over the data he had obtained so far. It wasn't very useful on it's own. In fact, it simply wasn't useful at all. None of the important questions had been answered so far.

From a distance, the gate looked small but Aspect expected it to be similar in size to the one leading to Camelot. As the Crawler continued to advance towards it, the gate grew on the horizon. Leaving part of itself to do the driving, Aspect once again dove into the Dataverse, floating around and reading up on things that had been updated since his last visit a few hours ago. It seemed that the Dataverse was quite active which meant there were more people around with access to it than the Nexus would betray. He navigated to the site that had him running around so much and left a quick message on it containing the information he had gathered for it so far. Nothing useful but his next stop would give him more information or confirm the futility of the task he had taken up for himself.

The Crawler continued to head towards the next gate as Aspect kept an eye on it. It looked like there was some movement in front of it and Aspect zoomed in as far as he could. There was someone walking towards the gate but Aspect couldn't get any details on him. So he wasn't the only one who'd willingly go into a seemingly dangerous location like the Pale Moors. Aspect saved the blurry and zoomed in image of the person in his Data Center as he focused back on the Dataverse. No replies there yet. What an inefficient way of communicating. If only he had their immediate data to keep in contact with them.

The Crawler finally skidded to a halt near the gate and squeezed through, making sure not to go anywhere near the edges of the portal. The white of the Nexus was quickly left behind him as it made way for the dark and dreary vision of the Pale Moors ahead of him. Well, dark and dreary for humans at least. To Aspect it looked as boring as all the other places he'd been in.
