Jams' Mindscape? - Jams Bolero - 01-25-2016

A main part of how Jams' story goes revolves around him unlocking his memories.  This is important to other characters as well, but I plan to tie it in a bit more heavily here.  In order to make my writing a bit more interesting, would it be alright to create a "mindscape" within Jams' imagination?  It would be sort of a small world that only his mind can access, and mostly just serves to provide some creative imagery for my own personal use.  Beyond being a "visual" representation, it's the same basic idea as him reflecting over his thoughts.  It would not interfere with any other verses in the slightest, although what it may do to Jams mentally is different.

So it seems like (and correct me if I'm wrong) you'd want something like Jams falling into a meditative state and experiencing his 'Mindscape' in something akin to a dream? There's nothing wrong with doing that.

It seems like the most appropriate way to play this would be to buy either Spiritual Attunement or Spiritual Enlightenment and post it in the Astral Realm. Depending on how much you're planning to do, you could just make it happen in the 'Verse you're already in, but I'd only do that if it's going to be a post or two (like if you want to use it as a plot device to awaken a power in a fight or something). An entire thread's worth of writing should go in the Astral Realm.

The only thing is that it'd never be COMPLETELY impossible for someone else to enter the 'Mindscape'. If you're being hunted for a bounty or something, there're always ways to locate you with enough time and effort. For example, unless you entered the Astral Realm though Enlightenment, your body would remain behind and be susceptible to harm. Also, anyone with the right items and skills could locate you in the Astral Realm with effort. If you try to enter your Mindscape to avoid interrogation or something and leave your body behind, you can still be telepathically probed for information if you have lower TEC than your foe. Assuming you're not being hunted, though, you can just create a private 'dream' in the Astral Realm and request that it be closed to people entering.

Does that help at all?

Re: Jams' Mindscape? - Jams Bolero - 01-28-2016

It's basically just a visual interpretation of the ongoings in Jams' head. Sorta like he's thinking heavily to himself, just visualized. It's more like a day-dream than a full-fledged dream. He would look like he's zoning out, staring in the distance and extremely vulnerable to attacks. It would make sense for people to pester him from inside his mindscape, though, since it is his mind.

If this can't just be just his mind visualized, then perhaps making it a closed dream in the Astral Realm would probably be the next best thing. I highly doubt that he would get in a lot of trouble, anyway.
