Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-15-2016 "You have got to be kidding me!" As far as new introductions to the Omniverse go, it is hardly the most original. Stumbling as she regains her footing, Lord Dominator looks around the nexus with the beady eye of someone who has clearly never been here before. The Fountain of Infinity had been going through a dramatic phase; looking for all the world like a crack in the air, giving way into a swirling mass of flickering flame. Infinite whiteness stretched off in all directions, broken up by distant figures she could barely make out. Eight shapes... shading her eyes with her hand, Dominator could just about make out the details of the gates and the figures flitting to and fro about them. Of all the gates, only one seemed to have a dedicated guard - and though she couldn't see much about them, she could easily recognise the telltale signs of soldiers - standing rigid to attention in what was probably some sort of fancy armour. "What did that freak say? Bla bla don't fear death bla bla If I desire it, I can create it? Hmph. Fine. Come on, world! Give me your stupid Volcanium X!" Just shouting her desire didn't seem to have any immediate effect, but there was... something. The green-skinned woman closed her eyes, and concentrated. Her brow furrowed, and her hand clenched as she snatched at nothing. She could just about feel SOMETHING happening, but it was frustrating, the way the power flickered and twisted through her fingers as though it were made of gossamer. Concentration had never been one of her talents. She much preferred things she could physically hold, grasp and control. Still, she wasn't some sort of idiot - and she didn't think running up to armed men whom she knew nothing about in nothing but her standard clothing was a particularly good idea. "Come on, come on, you stupid ... universe! I want my Volcanium! GIVE! IT! TO! ME!!" Huffing with frustration, Dominator fell to her knees, and slammed one fist into the floor with a cry of rage. "This is so stupid!" And then, crossing her legs beneath her, she tried again. Minutes ticked past as she struggled to just, make the world do what she wanted. Then, finally, something ignited in her hand. A tiny sphere of brilliant orange matter, no bigger than a golf ball, glowing and illuminating the woman's features in a ghastly light. A slow smile spread across her lips. "Oh, now THAT'S more like it!" Sure, she felt a little tired after doing that, and this was scarcely a drop in the ocean of the precious Volcanium X she had gathered before... but it was a start! Her hand closed around the fuel, and there was a faint glow as she absorbed it into herself. As she strode forward, her armour melted into being around her - thick, heavy metal plating covering her with each step. She grew in height, towering at seven foot where she hadn't exactly been dainty at six, and covered in such thick metal - adding so much to her bulk - that she made a distinctly masculine silhouette as she began to stomp heavily towards the Coruscant Gate. Even her voice was deeper; thrumming and powerful with a deep, reverberating quality to it. Her face entirely covered by her helmet, it felt GOOD to have some of her power back - although it was disappointing that the glow from between the metal plates was merely a ruddy red, and not the magma-bright burn that she had worked so hard to achieve back before she was snatched from her home by that disturbing power. "Well." She boomed, "Let's get some ANSWERS!" And with that, she broke into a sprint, running towards the Coruscant Gate flat out - her heavy footsteps sure to announce her presence even if the towering figure of black and red metal tearing towards them didn't already stand out enough against the stark white backdrop. RE: Some Like It Hot - Jack Darby - 07-15-2016 Failure had been what he had experienced on Coruscant. All the testing and trials they had put him through were for naught. Of course Ricky had gotten a bit stronger and honestly felt like he needed to do something to redeem himself. Coming out of the gate from Coruscant he'd notice a Prime nearby and realize something. Warren might be mad at him because he had failed on Coruscant but here was a new chance to make up for it. If he could somehow manipulate this prime into swearing loyalty to Warren that would mean that the lives of his friends were... safe. Encountering her, Ricky would size her up. This individual was wearing way too much armor to not be hiding something but what could it be? He hadn't heard her shout and that sorta concerned him that someone was wearing this much armor. She was also glowing faintly. "Excuse me... but who are you?" A pause would be done by Ricky. "Oh, my manners. Nearly forgot I'm Ricky Cervantes. Wouldn't go into that gate if I were you...." RE: Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-15-2016 The heavily-armoured figure comes up short when the child gets in the way. That causes her to almost lose her balance; of all the possible interlopers, she hadn't expected one so small to be the one to actually try and stop her! Perhaps, given recent events, she should have been expecting that a little bit more. Oh well, no matter. She towers over Ricky - though whether the mountain of metal is deliberately doing so in order to intimidate the boy, or whether it really has no choice in the matter because it is so danged tall is... not really easy to tell. (Spoiler alert: Dominator is doing it to intimidate the kid, because that's how she rolls) Dominator's shadow swallows him up, and the masked figure glares down, visor glowing a brilliant red. "I." The figure intones darkly, "Am Lord Dominator." Just a second to let that sink in, before she continues, stepping forwards once and slamming her foot into the ground to really accentuate the thud of metal against the floor. Hmph. Pity this isn't a terrain with some more features, she'd have liked to have put a dent in them to hammer the point home further, but this strange, endless plane of white refuses to so much as scuff. She cranes down, so she can look Ricky in the eye. Boy, she keeps that helmet brightly polished - it is possible to see his reflection in that glorious helm! "And go on. Tell me. Why should I not go exactly where I please?" RE: Some Like It Hot - Jack Darby - 07-15-2016 Ricky looked at her for a long moment and then said. "Well I just left Coruscant. Unless you like wasting your time... any of the other gates would be better given you're new here. I don't think you'd like getting EXPERIMENTED on.... which means avoiding that world is a definite must... until you have some henchman to work for you. Speaking of which, my boss Warren Zimmer would like to meet with you when he's free. There may be a lucrative business arrangement for you, Lord Dominator." But internally Ricky was very scared. What Warren wanted with evil primes he had no idea. But any who showed potential were to be directed to Fort Zimmer in the Tangled Green. It was almost like.... Warren was gathering an army. But for what purpose could he be gathering an army. Ricky had read in the newspaper... oh man. The Empire was in royal trouble given they'd pissed Warren off badly enough for him to resort to gathering troops. "By the way, Lord Dominator my Boss has a base already in the Tangled Green. It's where you'll probably have to go to meet him." RE: Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-15-2016 Lord Dominator took a few seconds to process this information, and then straightened back up, folding her arms across her chest. "You think that anyone is going to be capable of experimenting on me?" She boomed, and then that great helmet of hers was flung backwards, coupled with an echoing laugh which reverberated across the area. She might be new, but quite clearly, this is a Prime who has little fear of falling victim to such an outrageous possibility. Her! Lord Dominator! Experimented upon? She's the one who does the experimenting, she's not going to wind up strapped to a table. She might not be the greatest in the galaxy any more, but she was confident enough that she could avoid that degree of humiliation. "Alright then, pipsqueak, you've amused me. I'll give you a chance. Tell me more about this boss of yours, and why I should care that he wants to meet me." Her visor flashed for a moment, a brilliant red spark, before she raised one finger in front of Ricky's face, wagging it back and forth. "And here's a tip. 'Because he pays well for minions' is not a good reason. I, am not, a minion. I don't care what table-scraps he's giving you to be his errand boy." RE: Some Like It Hot - Jack Darby - 07-15-2016 "Well for starters, you're new here. This means you're likely not up to full power. Given he ALREADY has a base, I assume you need somewhere to stay at least for the time being while you build up your power once more? There's one reason you should be glad I'm keeping an eye out for potential Primes who might make excellent allies for him. My 'boss' if you can call him that is a super villain from my home-world. In any case given that he has already built himself a Fortress in the Tangled Green, another of the Verses I assume you meeting him couldn't heard. Last I heard he was headed to Camelot to see if he couldn't make them more likely to attack Coruscant... for some reason." Ricky examined her. Clearly this Prime was confident which was something he could appreciate. Her confidence might help to make Warren less bossy to him because he'd have someone new to order around. "And judging from your armor it runs off of some hard to come by energy source, Am I right? Well Warren's pretty good with technology though he goes by the handle Wild Card. He could probably get your suit fixed... he's fixed his up and even fixed mine up so that I can transform, even though I don't use it often. There's another reason though. Strength in Numbers. The power level of individuals like us, called "Primes" has diminished quite severely because of what Omni did. Strength in numbers especially of the villainous kind is a wise idea given the circumstances." RE: Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-15-2016 Lord Dominator sat down heavily on the ground, the crash of metal ringing out. She hadn't been running for all that long, but flat out, trying to cover as much ground as possible... yeah, it has taken a little energy out of her. No reason to stay standing when this kid is determined to talk her ear off anyway! Still, sitting in all this isn't exactly comfortable, and it doesn't put Dominator in the best of moods. Still, perhaps Ricky could be useful to her. "Let's see." She says, "You want me to take a meeting with this guy, so he can have a look at my armour and help organise a war between two groups I know nothing about. Oh. And I can crash at his place. At the moment, the answer is no." Another pause, long enough to see if the kid gets desperate or annoyed, before she presses on - possibly over whatever counterpoint he might have ready for her. "So, another proposal. I have questions about this place. You give me answers, and I'll agree to meet your boss. How does that sound?" That was, after all, the whole reason she was going to talk to the guards on the Coruscant Gate to begin with; if this kid can give her the answers she needs, or at least some of them, then that is a start. RE: Some Like It Hot - Jack Darby - 07-15-2016 "Fine. I'll answer your questions..." said Ricky. "But you will meet with him in Camelot when he isn't busy doing whatever he's doing here in the Nexus. I don't know what he's doing at present, nor could I care less. I'll tell you about the groups. The Empire is a pain in the ass Law Enforcement Group who believes they should enforce their laws upon whoever they please. Those are Warren's words, not mine. They also believe they can meddle in the affairs of anyone who visits their world especially PRIMES. Not sure about the other group to be honest. " The last part would be said to discourage her from going to Coruscant until Warren could actually make the war between Coruscant and Camelot pick up some speed. Ricky wasn't sure what Warren would do in order to make the worlds actually hate each other more than they already did. "So what are your questions?" RE: Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-15-2016 The implacable visor glows momentarily brighter again when Ricky tells Dominator what she 'will' do. She doesn't interrupt, though; she's happy to let him carry on talking and explaining what he knows about the Empire. That was one of her questions down, kind of, although there was still rather a lot of unanswered questions there... clearly the kid doesn't know that much about the place. "Let's start with these other things." She says, waving with one arm around at the gates. "I count eight. The one with the guards is Coruscant. What are the rest of them?" RE: Some Like It Hot - Jack Darby - 07-15-2016 "Well there's an ocean world with multiple islands, the Vasty Deep. It also belongs to the Empire for the most part. There's also a sword and sorcery world, Camelot....there is where the bulk of the Empire's enemies reside. " He'd point at a gate that had knights and archers near it. His fingers would then move, pointing at the Tangled Green Gate. "A jungle like world, and home to Fort Zimmer... Warren's home, among other things such as ninjas, and elves is what the Tangled Green is.. The Pale Moors is home to someone called Dracula and the citizens there are treated as little more than livestock by him. The Endless Dunes is a Desert like world where things are more criminal and there's less law there. Where we are is the Nexus. Get killed and you'll regenerate here. Does that help any Lord Dominator?" RE: Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-15-2016 "That's a start." Dominator concedes. In truth, she has no idea what many of these terms actually mean. Swords and sorcery? Ninjas? Elves? He might as well be speaking in a foreign language - but she doesn't want to tip her hand to her ignorance, and the impassive face of the armour helps with that. She'll have to make a mental note to research some of this stuff later. Rising to her feet, she turns her attention to the other gates. Her finger extends to point at the perpetually-smoking portal; that one in particular held some interest to her. The manner of the smoke was similar to a volcano; and where the hot blood of worlds bubbles to the fore, that is where she might find the Volcanium X which the boy had so quickly deduced she would in fact need. "What about the rest?" She asks, "And this... Omnilium. I want to know more about that as well. Are there techniques which can be used to speed up making things from it? Ways to extract more of it?" Important questions. She could already tell that this strange new energy was going to be vital in building herself back up to full strength - but she knew very little about it other than the fact that it exists and, if she WANTED something very much, she could force it to come into reality. Useful, yes, but not if she was going to be unable to get her hands on more of it. RE: Some Like It Hot - Jack Darby - 07-15-2016 "Yes. There are lots of ways you can acquire Omnilium. One of the easiest ways is by going on quests in the various worlds... for the various factions. But doing so would make enemies of other factions. Alternately you could convert items into Omnilium by extracting the Omnilium from them. But I assume such isn't possible on secondaries or similar... to my knowledge. You earn Omnilium for day to day stuff as well..." said Ricky. "As for the rest, I've helped you as much as I could. There are some verses that can only be accessed via points in other verses, but I don't know anything about them. So you'll keep your arrangement and meet my boss in Camelot?" RE: Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-15-2016 Lord Dominator rises back to her feet, and cracks her neck - the helm makes that a bit uncomfortable, too, but then the entire outfit wasn't exactly designed with comfort as a primary concern. "You are the one who said Camelot. I just said I'd agree to meet him. And I will." Behind the visor, Dominator's eyes narrow as she takes in the view. She now had a pretty good idea of six of the Gates, assuming Ricky's information could actually be trusted. That left the gate smouldering in the distance and the gate made of ice and snow - no prizes for guessing what lay beyond that particular one. She didn't know what waited beyond the Coruscant gate either, of course, except 'law and order', but it still looked by far like the most organised of the portals. "You'll need to arrange some sort of sign for me to look for. You see this?" She brings her fist to her breastplate, and bounces it once off the broken heart insignia across the torso. "Tell your Boss to fly a flag with this symbol on it. I'll finish up my business, and then go through to Camelot and look for it when I'm ready. I'm not going to run around an unknown place with no idea what I'm looking for other than 'a man called Warren Zimmer' or 'Wild Card'." She pauses, and then adds. "In fact, you had better tell me what this person looks like, just in case I run into him earlier." RE: Some Like It Hot - Jack Darby - 07-15-2016 Ricky nodded and memorized the insignia before creating a Tablet out of Omnilium. The tablet would display a hologram of Wild Card. "This is what Wild Card looks like. As you can see he's typically clad in that armor. Though recently he's started to wear a sword strapped at his waist for some odd reason. Don't know why. I'll tell him about the signal if I encounter him. But you'll have to keep an eye out for him. There's some sort of communications device for this place. I keep telling him he needs to get one..." Ricky paused. "So now you know what he looks like at least." RE: Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-15-2016 Dominator takes the tablet, and raises it to her visor. Interesting. From the name, she'd expected something more ... flamboyant, probably with a playing card theme - a hangover from her own home, perhaps, where someone called Wild Card would probably be made out of cards and shuffle themselves to create bizarre effects. Nevertheless, she nods her head and the tablet is disappeared about her person. "Good. Now, if there's nothing else?" Not that she particularly cares if there is anything else, because either way the woman resumes walking towards the Coruscant Gate. She's still got a lot of distance to cover and a lot of answers she needs to ascertain before she decides on her next move - the kid had been helpful, but she wasn't going to trust just his word alone... Besides. She's curious. If the idiots on the gate actually did try to capture her for experimentation purposes, they'd soon discover what it meant to go up against Lord Dominator! That would also give a lot more incentive towards teaming up against this 'law and order' group... in her experience, they were usually powerless to do much against you until you flaunted their rules in front of their face. And even then, well, most of the time they were just generally powerless, really. Although she was prepared to accept that might not hold quite as true here. RE: Some Like It Hot - Jak Mar - 07-15-2016 A lone eco warrior slips his guns on his back, passing through. He wiped his forehead and eyed the familiarness of the white, bright landscape. Jak lifted his hand to eye who was around. Unlucky for him, there was two primes nearby. Not sure who he should trust, he placed his scarf on his face and lifted his guns near his back. He waited to summon a small zoomer and focused on it intensely. It showed up. He turned to the nearby Primes and said "Who the hell are you three?" RE: Some Like It Hot - Jack Darby - 07-16-2016 "I am Ricky Cervantes..." said Ricky to the new arrival. "Given I've finished my business here I must be on my way. Lord Dominator... you'll see the signal in Camelot, or in the Tangled Green.. whichever comes first." With that, Ricky walked off towards another one of the Gates as he had work to do in order to ensure that Warren's plans could come to fruition. "See you all later." RE: Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-16-2016 The demand that she - again - identify herself has Dominator stop in her tracks. The great, helmed head slumps, and she takes a deep breath. For a moment, Dominator is very calm, and very still. She does raise her hand to Ricky as he makes his exit, muttering, in response to his reminder that she needs to go to either Camelot or the Tangled Green at some point to meet his boss... "Yeah, sure, whatever." Three muttered words which sound very strange coming from the deep, growling voice from within the helmet. A vague wave as the boy leaves her here with this... this... what? Some random guy with guns demanding to know who she is? Again?! There's really only so much of this she can take. Who do these people think they are, treating her this way? Like she's some sort of pawn, or a curiosity - something to be pointed at and mocked. It's like she's... oh no. This must be what it is like to be Hater. This must be how he feels all the time. And now she's even more angry because - just for a flickering second - she felt something which might have been some pang of sympathy for the most annoying, pathetic, loser of a Villain the Galaxy has ever known! Is this what she's come to?! She just can't hold it in.She tries to stay calm - she really does. But she fails. All of the stress and tension that had been bubbling away inside her suddenly comes erupting to the fore, and the armoured figure swings around to face Jax. "You want to know who I am?!" Dominator's voice BOOMS as she swirls on the spot, throwing her arms open wide. "I am Lord Dominator. The greatest in the galaxy. My robot army is unstoppable! My armour? Indestructible! My power? MAXIMUM!" Jabbing her finger at Jax, she towers over the man on his speeder, and... the helmet melts away to reveal the pretty green face beneath, the pink eyes and running mascara. She shrinks, her armour melting away over a few seconds to leave her in her t-shirt and skirt, casual sneakers, and bright yellow gloves - one finger of which is still jabbing at the rude man. "And now I've got nothing!" She shouts, her voice ... no longer a terrifying boom but instead a high-pitched, shrill squeal of frustration. "Because some grinning freak stole everything from me and dumped me here! I had everything! I was going to have it all! Do you want to know what I've got now? Huh? DO YOU?!" Whether or not Jax wants to know, she's going to show him. From the pocket of her skirt, she pulls out what is - very clearly - a candy ring. Slipping it onto her ring finger she waves it underneath Jax's nose. It smells faintly of blueberries. "This!" She shouts, jabbing her finger for emphasis. "This is the only thing I've got left from my whole galaxy! Of all the things I worked so hard to get, of everything I could have grabbed if I'd just known this was going to happen, this is what I have to show for it all! And then you... you come marching up to me and ask who the hell I am? Who the hell I am?! Like I'm nothing?!" Bending down - she's still pretty tall! A good six feet, but now, clearly, more agitated green space alien woman than terrifying metal-clad monster, and the mascara is running freely down her cheeks in bubbling black streams; her internal heat really makes it difficult to keep makeup consistent - those bright pink eyes of hers look right into Jax's - shiny enough that he can, creepily, see his own reflection right in them. "So now I want to know... WHO THE HELL IS ASKING!?" After her rant, the green-skinned woman is actually a little out of breath! Strands of white hair poking irregularly from beneath her helmet. Ah. It actually felt really nice to get that off her chest. Maybe she just needed to scream at someone to feel better after all. RE: Some Like It Hot - Jak Mar - 07-18-2016 Jak frowned “So let me get this straight, lady.. You’re trying to become a budding villain named Lord Dominator?” The woman alien of some sort is standing over him, only a bit taller than he is. That was annoying. But her booming voice made him stop and eye her sharp “Robot army? Her power was maximum?” She must of been new to the Omniverse. Plus. she jabbed a finger into the mercenary hero’s stomach. “Actually, i do know what it’s like for everything to be taken away from you in a second. That’s why I’M here!” The alien woman’s eyes reflected in his own as he shook his head, suddenly seeing his own reflection in them. This alien woman was lost just like he was lost awhile ago. Except one turned out a villain, and one a hero. Both legends in their own worlds. The blueberry ring got stuck in his face as he was forced to sniff it.. Confusing but he wasn’t sure of the significance of this ring. “Who’s Asking? My name’s .. Jak… Mercenary hero of Spargus, Haven, Sandover and Kras and soon the Omniverse. Don’t think I’m nice because I’m not. I won’t hesitate to take you down if you attack me. Jak reflected a growl as a warning not to mess with him. Playing nice in the Omniverse had gotten him nowhere even in Dante’s Abyss. Sometimes you have to become the villain. RE: Some Like It Hot - Lord Dominator - 07-18-2016 "Trying? Budding?! Weren't you listening to a word I said? I was THE GREATEST IN THE GALAXY!" Stepping backwards, Dominator took a deep breath, and made a visible effort to calm herself - hands raised in front of her, palms down, with her eyes closed for a second. She actually talks to herself - mumbling as she tries to drag herself back from her furious, terrible rage. "Okay Dee, stay frosty, no reason to let this get to you. You've been in tighter spots than this." When Jax actually introduces himself, though, that gets a look of absolute confusion, and then the tall green woman bursts out laughing. It isn't at all a controlled laugh - long and cheerful, she slaps her knee and doubles over. "Ahahah! Ah, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Just, just a second. Really. That's a good one." Straightening, she wipes a tear away from her eye with one finger, still grinning from ear to ear. "A mercenary hero? So, what, you only help people out if you get paid? You'll only take payment for shooting bad guys? That is rich. You've got a lot of guts to try and pull off something like that. Whoo! And I thought I had a good racket going." Still grinning, Lord Dominator let her hands go to her hips, and cocked them jauntily to one side. She takes a moment to really look Jax up and down, making it clear that she's sizing the guy up - guns, bike and all. "I'm not going to attack you, 'mercenary hero' Jax." She says, her tone now much more upbeat since her laughing fit. Man, she needed that! "I've got far more important things to worry about right now, and I don't really see what I'd get out of destroying you right this second. But I'll tell you what. If you've got, like, a business card or something, I'll take a copy and keep you in mind the next time I need something 'hero'd' to death, how does that sound?" One gloved hand is offered lazily to Jax - as though expecting him to actually have a card or something she can take with his contact details. Sure, she doesn't have any way to make use of them just yet, but she can worry about that later. They had to have some sort of cellphone service here, right? |
