Mafia: High School Edition - Discussion & Interest - Guu - 01-14-2016 I had this crazy idea for a mafia game we could do at this site, except the theme is High School. The idea is there are three factions: The Popular Girls, the Outcasts, and the Student Body. The popular girls are bullying other students into suicide, and are way too powerful to even be suspected, so its up to the Outcasts to dig up dirt that’ll knock them off their pedestals. So basically how it will work is three players will be selected to play the popular girls. These players are entirely immune at night but everyone in the game knows who they are. Each night phase, the popular girls will pick one student to kill. They must pick who’s cell phone they’ll use while doing it. Members of the Student Body all have their own goals to win personal victories. Three (or more) of these students know dirt about the popular girls, and their win condition is to keep that secret. Each popular girl knows which student(s) have dirt on them and if that student dies, their secret is revealed and they are discredited. The Outcasts have various investigative roles. They each pick one student to visit during the night phase. If they come across one of the students with dirt and that Outcast has a method to make that particular student squeal, they’ll learn the dirt and said info will be revealed the next day segment, discrediting that particular Popular Girl. If a Popular Girl is discredited, that player is out of the game. If all Popular Girls are discredited, the Outcasts win. If the Outcasts are all killed, the Popular Girls win. How does that sound? Here’s some roles i had in mind: Popular Girls Rich Bitch - (Pick one student during the day to hire as a Goon. See Student Body for more info) Cheerleading Captain - (Pick one student during the day to interrogate. You'll be able to detect if a student lying or keeping secrets.) The Pretty One - (Pick one student during the day. You'll learn who visited them the night before.) Outcasts - (Abilities) Computer Techie - (Gain info by hacking other player’s computers if they have one) Village Bicycle - (Gain info by sleeping with people, if they are into that) Drama Club Captain - (Can manipulate weaker minded students out of info) Witch - (Cast spells that could accomplish either of the above three, but must choose which) Student Body - (Win Condition) Attention Whore - (Convince the Popular Girls to kill you. Always appears to be hiding something.) Class Clown - (Tell at least one joke each day cycle and survive to the end.) Slacker - (Refuse to help anyone. Survive to the end.) Yandere - (You are given one student, persuade the Popular girls to kill them. Always appears to be hiding something.) Virgin - (Have the village bicycle visit you at night. Always appears to be hiding something.) Stalker - (You are given one student, must choose to visit target's house three times at night before the end of the game.) Emo - (Brood at least once each day cycle and survive to the end.) Hipster - (Act entitled at least once each day cycle. Survive to end.) Lonely - (Get two or more of the Outcasts to visit you.) Obnoxious Lovers - (You and your lover must live to the end of the game.) Obese Teen - (Don’t get visited by any of the Outcasts. Survive to the end.) Poet - (At least one post every day phase entirely in rhyme. Survive to end.) Jack of all Trades - (Pick a role from someone who has died and you can become that role.) Athlete - (Have the Computer Techie visit you at night. Survive to the end.) Poser - (Pick either Hipster or Emo. You must act as your chosen group twice a day phase. Appears as lying. Once a night, they must call one person to convince them how much they are a part of their chosen group.) Puritan - (Don't get visited by the Town Bicycle. Must preach a faith once day phase. Survive to end.) Stoner - (Talk like a stoner once per day phase. Survive to end.) Everyone's Friend - (Once a night, chose someone to hang out with. Survive to end.) 90s Kid - (Must talk about something 90s related once a day. Survive to end) Punk Rocker - (Must talk about fighting the system at least once a day. Survive to end.) Teen Model - (Show off once per day. Survive to end.) Teacher’s Pet - (Immune to death and interrogation. Anyone who visits them at night is immediately kicked from the game. If it’s the popular girls, it’s whoever’s cellphone they used. Teacher's pet can choose to spy on one person at night and learn their role, but can only get someone caught if targeted for any reason. This student always appears as hiding something. Teacher's Pet wins if they can eliminate at least one person from the Outcasts and the Popular Girls.) Goon - (Can be hired by Rich Bitch. If player consents, they'll take on the role of Goon for the day. They'll investigate whoever the Rich Bitch asks them to. If that Player turns out to be an Outcast, that particular Goon is considered one of the winners by game's end if you live, if not, they go back to their old role. Each Student Body can only be a Goon once per game. If the Goon in question is an Outcast or a Teacher's Pet, they can choose to falsify their findings. Outcasts or Teacher's Pets can't win as Goons) Example of dirt keeper: Dirt Keeper - Idiot (Survive to end, keep secret.) (Knows cheerleader is cheating with entire basketball team.) (Weak to Drama Club Captain and Village Bicycle) So, tell me what you think and let me know of anything I could change or add. Re: Mafia: High School Edition - Discussion & Interest - Corporal Light - 01-14-2016 Seems pretty interesting, albeit admittedly more complex, but this certainly seems like fun. Sign me up for whatever role. Re: Mafia: High School Edition - Discussion & Interest - Guu - 01-14-2016 Hmmm, now that I think about it, I should give the popular girls day phase abilities so they won't be forced to kill at random. I mean, considering their small numbers, I may need to let the Outcasts know each other like the popular girls do, and they'll probably just hide in the PMs while pretending to be one of the student body in topic. Maybe the Pretty One picks one student and can coerce them into telling them who've they met with the night before. The Cheerleading Captain can interrogate one student during Day phase and walk away from the convos knowing if they are lying or not. Not sure about the Rich Bitch; maybe something like "Have the power to change a player's win conditions if they meet certain requirements," but I may need to brainstorm it. Though, if I go with this, I'll have to introduce more Student Body roles that have a reason to lie. I think I just made a weird version of Mafia where the Mob is out in the open and the Townies are the ones hiding... Re: Mafia: High School Edition - Discussion & Interest - Gamzee Makara - 01-14-2016 I am way way into this idea. Sign me up. Might take a little getting used to though Re: Mafia: High School Edition - Discussion & Interest - Demetri Malius - 01-14-2016 Sounds intriguing, princethief wishes to participate ![]() Re: Mafia: High School Edition - Discussion & Interest - Guu - 01-15-2016 Gave Popular Girls day abilities, added a bunch of new Student Body Roles (not to mention expanded on some of them), and the Goon role. Edit: Right now, it's built to fit 28 people, but we can double up on some roles if we get more than that...IF we get more than that xD Re: Mafia: High School Edition - Discussion & Interest - Ganondorf - 01-15-2016 I'm interested.
