The Exo-Verse - Trixie - 01-12-2016

The Exo-Verse [WIP]

Home to the Colony, a terraformed city where the Principality of Zeon lives on Jupiter's moon of Europa, the largest moon; being completely terraformed has made it habitable to primes who need oxygen to survive.

Colony Information - Europa

Home to the Principality of Zeon, a militarisic space going race of humans that rely on mechanized suits of armor to travel around and enhance their lives. Currently there is only one main urban environment located on Europa called simply The Colony. A futuristic city composed of all sorts of primes and secondaries this is the war machine of Zeon and it's capital. The gravity here is heavier than what it would be anywhere else due to large gravity pumps supplying the populace with a heavier atmosphere, but for primes it's only noticeable for the first few minutes as your body acclimates. However, you would need to readjust each time you visited the moon.

Celestial Bodies

While you could spend your time on Europa exploring the newly terraformed landscape and the Colony, there are other places to go. Europa orbits Jupiter, a large gas giant home to hundreds of harvesting rigs that gather Hydrogen for use as fuel and as a means to create drinking water. The space between each moon and around Jupiter is a massive empty vacuum with zero atmosphere and breathing oxygen. It is extraordinarily cold without proper thermal shielding or clothing. There are three uncolonized moons orbiting Jupiter at different locations. Each one has a small Zeonic Military outpost on it for monitoring leaving you capable of taking a taxi to each of them. They consist of Io, Ganymede, and Callisto.

The Red Storm

Legends say that there is a hidden alien fortress within the ever raging Red Spot hurricane that covers hundreds of miles of Jupiter's surface atmosphere. Everyone who has tried to navigate into the storm has been torn apart by the severe planetary forces capable of ripping ships and whole space stations apart with relative ease. Huge amounts of electromagnetic energy and immense gravity fluctuations require that your craft have the very best in anti-gravity pumps and insulated shielding. In most cases even that isn't enough.

Re: The Exo-Verse - Ganondorf - 01-13-2016

For a Space Verse, there's a lot of focus on one location. Now, that location is highly detailed and very interesting, but I feel you should stress the exploration of a vast, zero-gravity environment. A lot of your locations are close in distance, but the fun of a Space Verse (like the Vasty Deeps), is how open it is. It gives a player a sense of wonder and a feeling that ANYTHING could be out there.

All that said, I feel like this is a solid start and I look forward to seeing what more you can do with this.

Re: The Exo-Verse - Chloe Price - 01-13-2016

I'm with Ganon here. A space verse is a great idea and all, but the focus seems mostly centered around one planet, instead of the actual space travel.

Re: The Exo-Verse - Tom Marvolo Riddle - 01-13-2016

Space verse definitely needs space. If there's a focus on planets then each of the current verses need to become planets in and of themselves, even if they are King Kai planets. So yeah, Ganon's got it.

But anything that introduces space is good. I'm all for unrealistically extreme space weather. Look the Star Trek Voyager opening.

Re: The Exo-Verse - Trixie - 01-13-2016

I literally spit this out in 20 minutes. This verse is massive. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. That's what I was going with when I created it. You know how we have Coruscant and it's tiers? Well here we have the entire planet of Jupiter, it's moons, space stations, and the expanded vaccuum of space around it's orbit. It's huge. I focussed on the Colony too much, well, because it's the only "civilized" life I had in mind when I was thinking this up. Everything else I left open for either interpretation or further update. Jupiter also sits just outside the asteroid belt so a sub area could be just that. An asteroid field. While this may seem like I'm pulling from real life and you're going "What does that have to do with the Omniverse," I was really thinking of making it a Gundam based verse. So I felt comfortable using Jupiter. Also, Europa isn't a planet. It's a moon sized location on a map. Like if you were going to Darkshire in the Pale Moors. Except it has a city AND surrounding grasslands and forests that were newly terraformed.

I plan to chip away at this more so I'll update the OP with your suggestions. Thanks guys. Just wanted to clarify my thought process.

Re: The Exo-Verse - Tearen Wover - 01-13-2016

I think having some established sci fi IPs would help give this space/exo verse some life. Here are some I think fit;

Gundam
Zone of the Enders
Battlestar Galactica
Firefly
Star Fox
Transformers
