Dual Characters - Man and Child - 01-10-2016 Hello! I'm sorry to bother, but I have a question that I haven't seen answered in any of the rules. I've checked around, and I haven't seen anything, but I'm also a forgetful and scatterbrained person, and may have missed it somewhere! Anyways, heres the question. Would it be acceptable to have two half-characters on one profile? This may be a unique case, and I understand if you wish to turn it down. I'll explain, so it makes sense. I would like to join the Omniverse as "The Batter", and as his "Puppeteer", from the pixel style RPG named OFF. One cannot exist without the other. The Batter receives commands from the Puppeteer, and the Puppeteer "sees" through The Batters eyes, and guides him on his journey. If The Batter is killed, the Puppeteer is blind, and will be easily defeated. If the Puppeteer is killed, The Batter will have no guidance or instruction, and will be rendered immobile, and easily defeated from that point. Together, they are strong. Apart, they are weak. I'm sorry if this is confusing! If you need clarification on anything, just ask!
Re: Dual Characters - Roger Smith - 01-10-2016 Not being a both at all, friend. And asking questions to clarify things is always the right path to take. And as thing stand, having played OFF rather extensively and knowing precisely what you mean with this query, allow me to answer it as best I can. Only one of them would be the Prime in such a situation. Probably the Batter, as he is the one that does all of the action, and is the one that interacts with the world; the Puppeteer is merely the one with the 'map', so to speak. Now, the best way to go about this would be either to have the Puppeteer as a figment of the Batter's imagination entirely, and assume that role yourself, as the player, or perhaps as a Secondary that is always there with the Batter, providing guidance and insight but not able to directly help him in any fashion, and reliant on him for protection and the like. Neither one completely accomplishes the goal at hand, but both come relatively close, and it's the best that's doable under the system. Any further questions or clarification, just holler! |
