Omniverse in MC! (Please Vote!) - King Axorn - 01-10-2016 First off, I'd like to congratulate Teal for trying to build this on the Xbox One Edition of the game. You can view her progress here: http://omniverse-rpg.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=5067 So, my plan is to build an Omni-approved scale model of the OV in Minecraft for the PC using tools like Mods, plug-ins, and MCEdit. It will be tough, it will be long, and it would be fun to work on this together. Eventually the goal would be to have a version of OV in Minecraft for reference to our roleplays on the site itself, as well as being able to do some non-canonical role-plays using he world. I have FRAPS and will be posting regular video updates of my progress, as well as a download link to the current version of the world. I will be open to feedback, suggestions and corrections to any of the work that I've done. I might also put together a resource pack to make it look even closer to the actual OV and I would love for artwork help on this. (Nealphh, I'm looking at you.) If anyone has a Bukkit server they'd like to host the world file on so we could work on this together that would be great! Do not hesitate to PM me. Current Download Link: N/A Current Features: None Features in progress: Nexus Gates Nexus Fountain of Infinity Planned Features that will either require immense co-ordination or a server: Areas for each person to build their own version of the Fountain, which it will switch to whenever they are nearby. I hope you all enjoy the process as much as I do! Updates: Update: (Pre-0.1) I have a significant choice to make for the size of the Nexus, I can either make it 25km in diameter as the Information says it should be (which will take ~1 hour irl to get to a gate), 60km in diameter, which is how long it would take to get to a gate for 2 hours irl, or I can make it 430m in diameter, the equivalent of it taking 2 Minecraft hours to get to a gate (~50 seconds irl). I would really like some opinions on this, because I am unsure of how far to make it, and I want you guys to be happy with what I've done as well. Thanks! Re: Omniverse in MC! (Please Vote!) - Amber Veritz - 01-10-2016 I did 200 blocks from North, South East and West. Then wrnt 70 blocks left and right of those gates to make an Octagon. Connecting them together. Re: Omniverse in MC! (Please Vote!) - Roger Smith - 01-10-2016 I do feel the need to point out that an average walking speed is about 3~ miles per hour. 25 km is about 15 and a half miles or so. So crossing the nexus from one side to the other would take about five hours, give or take, or about two hours or so at a brisk walking pace from the fountain to a gate. THAT SAID, I would personally go with 860 meters in diameter, so it would match up with times in game. Four hours to cross from one side to the other, half that to go from fountain to gate. But that's just me. Re: Omniverse in MC! The Minecraft walking speed is 4.3m/s, so your thesis is off a bit. But thanks for your advice. Re: Omniverse in MC! (Please Vote!) - Roger Smith - 01-10-2016 Clearly I wasn't talking about Minecraft when I gave the calculations but okay. At 4.3 meters per second that's 258 meters per hour, over four hours to get from one side to the other, comes out to 1032. And there you have your number to keep things in 'scale', as it were. Re: Omniverse in MC! (Please Vote!) - Amber Veritz - 01-10-2016 You'll be spending hours building the nexus like that. Dang Re: Omniverse in MC! (Please Vote!) - Minato Namikaze - 01-10-2016 is that 1032 blocks? or something else? Re: Omniverse in MC!
