The arrival of the Noah, part 2 - Yu Kanda - 12-02-2015

Quote: continuation from : The arrival of the Noah, Part 1
The vast white landscape spread before Kanda's eyes once more as he emerged from the gate. This was where he first arrived in the Omniverse, where he met both the professor and Ruby, the place where it all began. Now he is back, stronger and with purpose. No longer was he the weak prime that was lost in the nexus.

Behind him a second person stepped out of the gate. A new companion, a demon hunter joined his cause. The exorcist looked around, trying to get a sense of direction. "Everything looks alike in this god forsaken place, do you have any idea where to go,- ?" The sentence stopped, he didn't even know the hunter's name. An awkward silent emerged, Kanda too stubborn to ask for the mans name stood there hoping his companion would fill in the final word.

Dante noticed Kanda's struggle allowed him to suffer through the embarrassment a little while longer before answering, "Dante, my name is Dante. I got a pretty good idea of where to go, but no way i will be walking all the way there, best we summon a transport."
Kanda nodded in agreement."Very well Dante, you can call me Kanda."
Both primes started to mold omnilium to their will. As always it took a bit of time before the summoning was complete. Kanda summoned his black steed once more. The black hair of the beast was so smooth you could nearly see a reflection. Dante summoned a machine, a terrifying machines on two wheels. The exorcist examined the mechanical beast before looking back at Dante. "Nice horse." the demon hunter said with a tiny hint of mocking within his tone.

"Thanks."The word left his lips more sour than intended. The horse was still a beauty of a creature but compared to the ingenious design of the motorcycle it faded into the background. The swordsman quickly mounted his horse, "Lead the way, Dante." Suddenly the engine started roaring, pulling the throttle twice to really make the engine loud before leaving, the wheel in the back was spinning in place for a few seconds and the bike took off. The horse neighed, quickly starting the pursuit throughout the big white nothing.

*******

In the distance the gate to the pale moors emerged. The grey stones were clearly visible as they approached. Kanda narrowed his eyes towards the distance. Someone was there, someone was at the gate. The question was, is it friend or foe. The silhouette slowly turned into a man, not an ordinary man, a three sword carrying swordsman. The closer they got the more impressive the individual looked.

The strange swordsman turned around when he heard the engine from Dante's bike approach.

"Hmm ? What's this ?" Zoro said when he saw both the bike and horse stop near him. He placed the bottle of sake back in his coat and rested his arm on his swords.

Kanda got off of his horse and approached the stranger with care. He noticed Zoro's hands were already on his weapons. The closer Kanda got, the more his stomach was telling him something wasn't right. The individual gave off a strong vibe, Kanda knew this wasn't a lowly secondary just by looking at him. Yu's mind was sharp and ready, the tension started to rise, at least for the young exorcist it did. Behind him Dante was still on his motorcycle, examining the scene.
"Who are you? Why are you blocking our path ?" Kanda asked directly.

"Blocking ? No I'm not blocking anything, i was just watching the two idiots who were making a shit ton of noise. It was so peaceful just a moment ago"
"Whatever, move aside we are in a hurry, before i cut you aside." The exorcist sounded annoyed. Zoro got an excited grin on his face, " Cut me aside hmm ? I'd like to see you try boy."

Kanda responded by immediately pulling mugen out of his sheathe and pointing it towards Zoro. "I am not playing games. We have urgent business in the Moors, get out of my way, NOW !"

Re: The arrival of the Noah, part 2 - Roronoa Zoro - 12-02-2015

Zoro’s features pulled into an instant, sinister grin. The Swordsman mimicked the Exorcist, in kind, drawing Shusui. He held the blade at an angle, towards the ground.

“P’rhaps you should let that blade do the talking, huh?” The Pirate Hunter goaded, spreading his arms slightly, signalling a free advance from the Exorcist.

And advance he did, a vein still bulging from his forehead as he leapt towards the cocky Pirate. As the gap closed between the pair, Yu Kanda swang Mugen towards his foe, in a horizontal arc aimed directly for his midsection. The action triggered a slight reaction in Zoro, a derisive snort and a quick step backwards, followed up by and upwards swing of Shusui, forcing Kanda’s blade off course. However, the technicality this Exorcist possessed was nothing to snort at. Kanda landed, grinding his heel into the brilliant white surface, throwing him into a neat spin. The resulting momentum, in tandem with an outstretched blade caused the Pirate Hunter to dart backwards a few steps, caught off guard. He had to find comfortable ground with the new physics and the apparent lack of ability. Zoro ground to a halt some feet away, his free hand giving him some leverage over his stance. Knelt, his fist planted onto the bright white surface, the Hunter was poised to strike. An inhuman burst of speed left the man as he leapt towards Kanda, Shusui outstretched before him. The Exorcist was ready for the lunge, his blade already placed to defend. He caught the strike with the flat of his blade, however, he had underestimated the Pirate Hunter’s strength, causing him to be blown backwards a fair way. A look of shock and or awe remained plastered across Yu Kanda’s face as his opponent straightened up to his full height, revealing an impressive form, to say the least.

The Exorcist furrowed his brow as he studied the newer Prime before him. The Pirate Hunter took a few steps forwards, approaching the Prime before him, his right hand gliding over the hilt of his second Katana, Sandai Kitetsu.

“You sure can talk the talk, but you're not quite ready to walk the walk. Time's up, it's my turn.” Zoro smirked, flicking his thumb at the guard that rested between the blade and hilt, drawing his Katana. Yet another burst of speed allowed the Prime to close the gap between the two men in the matter of a blink of an eye. Roronoa unleashed a brutal flurry upon Kanda, successive blows deflected through some manner of sheer dumb luck or..

Kenbunshoku Haki, The Hunter’s thoughts lingered on Haki for a moment, a grimace crawled its way across his features. His flurry shattered by the speed and finesse of his opponent, Zoro bounded backwards somewhat, Katana dropped to his sides, angled toward the ground once more.

“Haki, huh? Makes things a bit more interesting..” Zoro muttered quietly, glaring coldly towards the Exorcist.

Re: The arrival of the Noah, part 2 - Simon - 12-03-2015

Well, this had turned interesting awfully quick. From his first interactions with this old-fashioned warrior, to their subsequent alliance, to their encounter with this newer Prime, Dante could almost be surprised with how easy it was to tick off this Exorcist. It was as if he bore same sort of attitude as the half-blood himself, from back when Devil May Cry was nothing but a half-baked business idea. So young, reckless, and willing to use violence as a solution to most any problem.

If nothing else, Dante's maturation had mostly left that mindset behind. But he'd be damned if that kind of bullcrap wasn't somewhat entertaining to watch, even when being on the receiving end. Now, after souring Kanda over his choice of mount, the exorcist had up and stopped at the gate to the Moors. Apparently, according the long-haired man, their path was being blocked by a three-bladed, quasi-drunken swordsman who just happened to be standing incredulously at Dante's loud-ass motorcycle.

Once the two swordfighters traded a couple of threats and insults, they soon turned to drawing their weapons and exchanging blows. Oh, this was gonna be good, Dante thought as he cut the engine and brought out the metaphorical popcorn.

Dante, for his part, didn't see much reason to get involved- never mind the fact that it was technically his roaring engine that kind of started this hold-up. Simply, it wasn't in the devil hunter's style to get into these kinds of fights with purely random strangers, and if it were just him he'd have moved on already. If this hot-blooded exorcist wanted to get into a fight over something petty, then it was going to be strictly Kanda's fault.

At any rate, the Son of Sparda at least got to be treated to a preview of both men's fighting styles. Kanda fought with a strange black straight-sword designed vaguely like a japanese weapon, while the stranger looked to wield one of the three katana at his belt. Why would one person even need that many identical swords at a time, unless he had some hidden way to triple-wield - or if the man was just extremely reckless with his weapons. Nevertheless, the bladefighter wielded a surprising amount of speed and finesse (with a fine helping of extravagance on top!), but the exorcist was able to match it and more, easily navigating about the hunter's slashes.

While Kanda went untouched, he however found himself staggered by the other man's sheer strength, thrown back over several feet just by blocking a lunging strike. As the exorcist ground to a halt, surprised and leering at the well-toned opponent that hadn't seemed to manifest until just then. "Boy, he's actually pretty ripped," Dante's voice egged Yu on tauntingly, "Sure you don't need to tag out, or-?"

"Quiet. I can handle him myself," the hot-blooded warrior spat back as the swordsman put a second katana at the ready. The two fighters clashed again, the pirate hunter giving no quarry as he let loose an intense field of slashes only a trained swordsman could pull off. Despite the manic attacks, Kanda kept true to his word and held his own, matching the swipes of both dancing blades with his own single one.

Dante's chest heaved a single chuckle as he leaned forward on the motorbike, crossing his arms on the handlebars. The sights gave the Son of Sparda flashbacks to his own couple of fights with his brother, with how impossibly fast they could battle. Still, Dante wouldn't deny that Vergil's speed and skill could surpass his own. For being twins, they really had been radically different - but at the same time, not so much so.

The stranger doubled back, mumbling something beneath his breath- he clearly hadn't been expecting Yu to be as skilled as he proved to be. Of course, neither man was set on giving up this battle yet, and the exorcist took the opening in initiative to prepare his next move. "You have no idea what you are dealing with," Kanda firmly declared, the two fighters staring cold daggers into each other. "I'll make you regret challenging me!"

Re: The arrival of the Noah, part 2 - Yu Kanda - 12-09-2015

Klaud was wandering through the white world. She knew what she saw in the distance, it was clear as the light of day, an akuma made its way to the underworld. There was no way her eyes were playing tricks on her. The general started the chase immediately but somehow lost it within the vast space that is the nexus. It was her duty to find and destroy these things, before they start taking lives in this place as well. She felt bad for leaving the others behind but she had to do this. Hunting and destroying akuma is what she was trained for, it's what her innocence was meant for. Now that Omni turned her into a prime and she was finally reunited with Lau Jimin, her innocence was restored and ready to be used against the demons that haunt this place.

After what seemed hours of walking she heard noises , sounds of battle up in the distance. It came from one of the gates. Not wasting a single second Klaud rushed towards it, hoping she wasn't too late catching the Akuma

****

The sound of metal swords clashing filled the silent void that was the Nexus. Both swordsmen underestimated each other. Pride was getting in the way for a peaceful solution, at least on Kanda's end. He had his ass handed to him one time already, it was -not- going to happen again. A quick glance to the side showed Yu the entertained state of mind Dante was in. The demon hunter seemed to enjoy the show from a distance, throwing in a mocking comment every now and then. Taunting words and mocking comments no longer reached Kanda's ears, little by little his focus started to become fixated on one point. This green haired moron will know he messed with the wrong guy.

"You have no idea what you are dealing with, I'll make you regret challenging me!"

A grin appeared on Zoro's face, exactly what he wanted to hear. It was almost as if the pirate was testing his limits. 'Time to show this fool what he got himself into.' Kanda's facial expression and aura changed, both Zoro and Dante noticed. Dante lifted his chin up from his arms, where it was resting. His wise ass comments came to a stop and actually was silent for a moment as he witnessed Kanda picking up speed exponentially. In the blink of an eye the exorcist made his way in front of the pirate swordsman. Zoro did not expect his opponent to be capable of such feats. The pirate's eyes shot towards the side where the exorcist's body came to a stop and widened. On pure warrior instinct alone he was able to block Kanda's slash with his own katana. Unfortunately Zoro missed the fist that followed the slash and got punched straight in his face. With his head flying backwards, Roronoa used the momentum to take a few steps back and regain his footing.

Kanda wasn't going to let him off that easily. When Zoro regained a proper stance his opponent was already in his face again. The swords crossed once more as both swordsmen's eyes met, neither was willing to give in.

Dante was recording the fight, there was more to these two then he initially thought, they may not be as weak as he initially guessed. His attention towards the fight got interrupted by the sound of footsteps behind him. Casually he turned around and saw another person approaching, someone wearing the same kind of outfit as his partner was wearing. But unlike Kanda she actually was pleasant to look at. A quick glance told Dante that this woman meant business, her outfit was flawless, her body was in great shape and the monkey on her shoulder was,.. Dante couldn't really make sense of the pet. But the woman was impressive to say the least. General Klaud nine had arrived.

Re: The arrival of the Noah, part 2 - Roronoa Zoro - 12-14-2015

“Hey, hey, Nechan,” The Pirate Hunter goaded as he eyed his opponent from top to toe, “You’re in my way.. “ The ever present sinister grin twisted vaguely as the swordsman reached for his third Katana, placing the hilt between his teeth. Zoro then crossed his arms, katana pointed towards the sky as he doubled forwards slightly. “Oni-!” Zoro rushed forwards, closing the gap between himself and Kanda in a blink of an eye. Forced onto the defensive, given the sudden appearance of the new Prime up close, the Exorcist threw his sword in an upward arc. Upon reaching his quarry, Zoro swung his Katana into a descending diagonal slash and let out a harsh “Giri!”, both swords caught by the Exorcist’s upward swing. However, the third blade went under the radar, unexpectedly slashing out horizontally. The Pirate’s third blade caught Kanda’s shoulder, tearing into his uniform and drawing a fair amount of blood, causing Yu Kanda to stumble backwards with a groan, his free hand clutched onto his now cut shoulder.

“Three Katana?! How is that even-” Kanda fumbled over his words, clearly caught off guard, “Regardless.. how will you deal with this?!” The Exorcist leapt into action, his speed increasing with every passing second. Kanda unleashed a flurry of strikes, slashing out at almost every part of Zoro he could possibly reach, causing the Pirate to bolt backwards, managing to catch all but a few of the strikes, blood starting to trickle down his exposed skin. The pair clashed, dancing around each other, katana clashing. The sound carried for a fair way, echoing around the white void.

The Exorcist’s focus, however, fell to pieces as the newcomer called out, apparently recognising him. “Kanda?!” the woman yelled, halting the Prime’s onslaught as he looked over towards his companion. Unfortunately for him, Zoro noticed the slow in pace and rounded the Exorcist, arms outstretched, his katana forming a nigh on horizontal line across his chest. As he ground to a halt before the Exorcist he muttered a condescending; “You should keep your eyes on your opponent! Santoryuu; Tatsumaki!” the Pirate twisted his body, launching a twister of compressed air from his Katana. The Exorcist found himself caught in the twister of energy and air, managing to keep himself from being cut. However, as the twister came to a halt, the outburst of energy flung Kanda backwards and through the Portal that stood behind him, with a somewhat stifled shout of surprise. The Pirate Hunter straightened up once more and sheathed his trio of Katana, each clicking into place.

“You should find your friend.” He called out to the pair nearby, stepping aside slightly as he did so.

Re: The arrival of the Noah, part 2 - Simon - 12-14-2015

Each of the swordfighters redoubled their efforts - Kanda's sheer agility seemed to increase further, and Zoro drew his third sword between his teeth. Dante couldn't stifle the snicker that bubbled up from his throat, pleasantly amazed with how the pirate hunter conducted his fighting style. It was almost unreasonable and practically detrimental, really, but the guy made it look hilariously cool. Next thing you knew, he was going to start wielding swords with his feet, or something.

In terms of fighting techniques, however, Dante couldn't help but feeling that both of them may have been holding back some greater power. The Son of Sparda couldn't blame them at all, really, considering how he himself acted with his inner demon (and how it now turned against him somewhat).

Rude. Show a bit of respect for your purest instinct.

My purest instinct wants to gouge you out right now.

Dante allowed himself to be distracted when someone else approached from behind him. Still sitting and leaning on his bike, the devil hunter turned his body to look at the newcomer; she was a woman, and a no-nonsense one, by the looks of it.

She was dressed in a similar uniform to Kanda, with a pair of intricate gauntlets on her arms and her long hair cascading over exposed shoulders. If the first exorcist had given off a strong countenance, this lady gave a more powerful and controlled one in kind, with her toned yet lithe form giving proof not to mess with her. The small money perched on her shoulder like a captain's trusty falcon seemed to be the only off thing about her - while it seemed innocent enough, Dante wasn't convinced it was just simply some beloved pet.

"What's going on here? Where is the Akuma?" The General spoke up, looking a bit disdainful at the sight of Dante idle on his motorcycle. The Son of Sparda gazed at the woman, then glanced back to the fight for a second or two, and then back to her. Already unconvinced of the man's answer, she craned her vision over the cyclist to get a better look at who exactly was fighting. Two men were vigorously clashing blades, but one of them was- Yu Kanda!?

"If you're looking for an 'Akuma', it's probably not here," Dante finally replied, catching the general's attention for a moment, "Just two swordsmen having a shit-fight."

Almost disgusted by the devil hunter's attitude, the female exorcist ran up past the motorcycle and called out, "Kanda?!" She succeeded in hailing the swordfighter, and he turned to the source of the call, his focus replaced with surprise and a hint of bewilderment. Unfortunately, Kanda's diverted attention allowed his opponent to execute a new technique: creating a vortex of bladed wind that blew the exorcist right off his feet and through the archway to the Pale Moors.

The battle abruptly ended, Zoro returned his katana to their sheathes, turning to the spectators, "You should find your friend." The general seemed offended, about to step forward to challenge Zoro herself. Dante, meanwhile, gunned the engine of his ride, making the other two jump (and the monkey quiver at his master's neck) and causing Kanda's war-horse to bound away into the open portal.

"Calling him a 'friend' is a bit generous," the Son of Sparda quipped over the grumble of his motor, "'Associate', more like."

A gritty scowl erupted on the pirate hunter's face as he realized the sole source of all that racket earlier. Confused as the general was, meanwhile, she looked past the men and put forth her resolve to ensure Kanda's safety, and so ducked away into the portal. The swordsman yelled out to Dante on his roaring machine, "Just what the hell is up with you, anyway? You must have a pretty big ego, riding a loud thing like that."

Without skipping a beat, the devil hunter replied matter-of-factly, "Personally, I just like to make a bang. I'm sure you and your three swords would agree." Now the beat sunk in, the two remaining hunters facing off. "Now, if you don't mind..." Dante revved his machine, let up the kickstand, and began to cruise into the portal.

Scowl still plastered on his face, Zoro contemplated actually letting this vulgar man pass through. Kanda had gone out without much fanfare, but this individual seemed a lot more interesting, if the shiny broadsword strapped to his back was any indication.

Re: The arrival of the Noah, part 2 - Yu Kanda - 12-19-2015

Klaud watched Dante drive off through the gate, leaving her and the strange looking prime behind in the nexus. "What is your business with the other exorcist ?" Klaud asked Zoro in her usual strict sounding voice.

"Business ? He drew his sword on me, i couldn't really leave an invitation like that aside." Zoro said casually. "The kid wasn't half bad. If he didn't lose focus it might've been a good match. A rookie mistake though. What even is an exorcist ?"

"We exorcist are the weapon against the evil known as akuma, or commonly known as demons. We use weapons forged out of innocence to fight these underworldly creatures. And i believe they have found their way here, to the Omniverse. I am sure it isn't a coincidence that both me and Kanda found our way here to the gate of the pale moors. Something is happening and it isn't good."

Zoro seemed to have only listened to half of the story, almost as if he wasn't really interested in what the general had to say. " You exorcist wouldn't happen to have met any of my crewmates have you ? Luffy, Franky or even the idiot cook ?"

Klaud quickly learned she was wasting her time here. " no i have not." She replied coldly as she passed the pirate. Lau Jimin chirped on her shoulder. " If you excuse me I have to follow my comrade, if I am right, he will be in big trouble, these demons aren't pushovers." These words reached Zoro's ears. "Are they that strong?"

"Yes, where I come from, they destroyed much of the world already. There are many of them, and few of us exorcists to fight them." The grim tone of her voice sparked something inside the swordsman, a challenge perhaps ? " Sounds like you can use another pair of swords, i will come with you to see if these demons are as tough as you claim.

Klaud was surprised anyone was willing to join on an assignment as dangerous as this. "I appreciate your help, but only an exorcist is able to fight an akuma."

"We will see about that, let's go."

Klaud resumed her path towards the gate, moments before walking through Lau Jimin was signaling her by making some noises, she turned around to check up on her new ally and sees him walking towards the gate in the distance. "Where are you going ?"

Zoro turned around in confusion and sped towards the pale moors gate. "This place is confusing." Both primes walked through the gate into the moors. The gate's centre quickly calmed after they travelled through. Leaving the nexus to its original empty space.
