Quests and what not. - Black☆Star - 11-17-2015

Who should I direct a question to regarding a questline I'm planning and it's subsequent rewards? Is there anyone in particular, or do I just speak to any member of staff?

Re: Quests and what not. - Strazio Rockwell - 11-17-2015

You could post it in the quick question thread or make a thread in the help desk if it is a bit more involved. I'd be willing to answer any questions you have as well.

Re: Quests and what not. - Black☆Star - 11-18-2015

May as well ask the questions here rather than make a new thread;

1. Is it even okay for a regular member to create a quest line?

2. I assume I have to write up character sheets for the npcs, so can I just make a singl sheet for the regular grunts that people will be facing and then another for the boss mob?

3. What kind of rewards would a regular member be able to dish out? I was thinking of something loot-esque, from the boss mob and then OM for completing the quest? How much would be allowed to be dolled out?

Thanks in advance Smile

Is this a quest that you want to do? Or one that you want other people to do?

Just dropping in to quickly note that writing for/with other people will always get you the Participation bonus, and if you run a cool little "event" I bet you would get the Exceptional bonus too!

That goes for everyone in the thread, so the people that would actually DO your "quest" would get a bonus that's fairly comparable to a quest reward.

You can choose to make cool story ideas any time, and I'm sure the community and the mods would help you figure out how to make it in a way that works.

Anyways, that's just a quick note, not a REAL answer to your question.

It would be a quest that other people do, I just write it out and essentially DM them through.

The best thing to do is to take your idea to the discussion board and flesh out the story's outline. If a ton of members find the idea interesting and staff believes it could be successfully ran as a saga or mini saga, then we will reach out to you and sponsor the event.

This happened with Gildart's idea that eventually turned into the Secondary Saga. An event in which bonuses were handed out just like any staff run saga.

So, can regular members make rewards for their stories? No, but As Thaal has stated earlier, a participation bonus is always available for everyone involved in a story and, with enough interest from enough members, Staff can sponsor your event, in which rewards could be issued out.

Obviously you will want to flesh out the NPCs of your event. The more you put into this, the better your odds that it will catch site interest.

If your idea is indeed chosen to be sponsored like Gildart's was, any number of rewards could be dished out. This would be up to staff, but things I've seen in the past are: bonus OM and even artefacts being crafted as rewards. I wouldn't get your hopes up tho, a great idea for a saga has to come first before any rewards would be warranted.

So, your best move is to outline your idea in the discussion forum and see if it creates enough of a following to become sponsored by staff.
