October Community Accolade Polling - Until Nov 4th - Proto Man - 10-31-2015
Welcome to another edition of the Community Accolades!
Simply put, the Accolades involve elevating those who have outdone themselves in a particular area each month. For variety's sake, the categories for each month may be different.
Unlike previous months, I am going to streamline the process. For the purpose of this month, nominating someone is akin to voting for them. We won't do the two-part phase.
If you wish to participate, think of who stood out the most in a particular category this month and post your choice, along with a 2-3 sentence long explanation, in this thread. You are not barred from nominating your own characters, nor do you have to fill out all the categories.
The winners will become this month's "Community Stars" and will receive a blue user title in recognition of their achievement.
So, without further ado, here are the categories:
‘Best’ Character – Which character has you engaged the most?
‘Best’ Writer – Which writer wowed you the most?
Most Helpful – A staffer or a member who gave you amazing feedback on a story or was simply there to help you sort out some of your problems.
Rising Star – Which up-and-coming member stands at the crème of the crop? (must have joined within the last month and a half OR have less than 8000 OM)
'Best' Solo Storyline – What story has had you the most engaged and entertained?
'Best' Pair or Group Storlyine - Just like the other category, only this one is for more than one person.
Favorite NPC - We have a lot of NPCs, whether they're primes or secondaries. Which one was your favorite (for whatever reason)
Purple Ribbon - Consider this a bonus category for nominating someone who, while they may not be the best and have all the twitter followers, you believe deserves to be recognized for what they bring the the Omniverse. (The winner must be a DIFFERENT person than last month's winner)

‘Best’ Character – MUSHROOM STOMP ! sorry but that killed me, for this months nomination i gotta go with Luffy ! welcome back man, love the character, love the....strange.....moves.
‘Best’ Writer – He fought one of the most feared writers on the site and won, He took a selfie with his opponent's arm. He did the impossible and made his character one of my favorites. For that writing i want to nominate Sinestro
Most Helpful – Many staffmembers have been added, much help has been given. Especially behind the curtains, stuff you don't see easily. To nominate someone who does allot of work backstage i would like to nominate Kakashi .
Rising Star – The fight vs Magus showed us how well of a writer he is, the humour, the vocabulary and ofcourse nearly taking down freakin magus in the arena. I would nominate Black Star for rising star ( see what i did there ?)
'Best' Solo Storyline – Allot of the people are currently fighting eachother's brain out in the tournament or in a sandbox, BUT there is a person somewhere in the tangled slowly progressing his character, i have been following it and i liked it. Therefor : Nominating Minato for best solo storyline
'Best' Pair or Group Storlyine - Best pair.... a difficult one because of the Arena going on, but let us not forget the battle going on in the dunes, i love that topic, the hype, the humour, the taunting. I want to nominate : A path to New Babylon
Favorite NPC - Sticking with the SS for this and want to nominate Abner as favorite NPC, just gotta love his attitude near the Omniverse master. was just a great read and deserved a nomination in my eyes.
Purple Ribbon - This one goes to a person who has been working his ass off lately, doing allot of extra ( sometimes ungratefull) work without really getting anything back for it.... well , For all your judging and staffing... i want to nominate Sinestro !

‘Best’ Character – Ballad. While his writing isn't perfect he conveys the character of his, well, character better than a lot of other people I managed to read in my short time here. I also don't want to end up at the bottom of the frozen lake for not voting for him.
Most Helpful – Adam. Was a choice between him and Kakashi for me, with first being there to sort out the cluster**** that is the New Babylon storyline and second simply being the most active and attentive member of staff I have seen.
Purple Ribbon - Omni, for making this all possible and that (completely justified) fit he threw yesterday.

Best Character - Bandit. No one else comes close except my boy Shang Tsung, but I'm not THAT egotistical. Honestly if you didn't read the Bandit-Gildarts fight, you have a hole in your existence that you should fill.
Rising Star - Ballad. Out of all the fresh faces in the first round of the Colosseum, I enjoyed your bout a lot, even if you went home afterwords. I think you got a good future here, and I hope you'll stick aorund.
Best NPC - Gamzee's Karkat. This guy is hilarious to read, and it such a well-done character. There's nothing to not enjoy about these posts.

‘Best’ Character – BWNN, hands down. I’ve been delighted with the nameless desert ruffian since she was a secondary and she’s only gotten better since her ‘priming’. Stealing an opponent’s prosthetic is just what we should expect from the nomadic badass, though using it as a selfie stick took me off-guard (in the best way).
Most Helpful – Gonna hafta give this one to Adam. Dude seems to be perpetually floating around, always courteous and helpful. He’s also offered to NPC for a few new players, which I really liked.
Rising Star – Ballad. He may be new, but he’s very driven in his writing and I can very easily get a feel for his character. Plus, he’s been consistently cranking on great work since he joined, even on his own. I also really appreciate his excellent roster page. Makes me feel inadequate over mine. xD
Favorite NPC - Karkat (Gamzee’s secondary), because fuck yeah Karkat. Just flat-out entertaining to read. He’s a great foil to the Bard’s insanity.
Purple Ribbon - Alexyana. She’s the starter of a good many character development threads in the whateververse and is always nice to chat with in the cbox. Just a pleasure to see around.

‘Best’ Character – Gonna go with Demetri Malius. The dude has been a little bit of everywhere, met a lot of people and had a touch of involvement in every plot. Not only does it make an interesting character, but he's giving plenty of writers ways to connect their characters in the future just by association. And he's got New Babylon pretty worked up right now.
‘Best’ Writer – Nealaphh. The guy is running multiple characters in various threads across the Omniverse and he's one of the strongest writers in each one. Between them all he's working with a wide range of archetypes and he's still managing to make these all wildly different characters very interesting. Plus, in an RP of this type you have to be quick on your feet and able to handle changes. Anybody else see the way he worked with the PANDATRON situation, and worked it into a good narrative? Brilliant stuff.
Most Helpful – This one is very, very tough, because the new staffers have been on point. I'm going to go with Adam Gaite because not only has he helped keep the site moving since jumping to staff, but he's also handling judging a massive fight and running NPCs in threads for various people, including new members during that critical "stay or not" deciding phase. I seriously can't say enough how difficult it was to pick between him and Kakashi Hatake, though.
Purple Ribbon - Yu Kanda is a friendly, warm presence in any conversation in the chatbox. Very upbeat and supportive, and doing great in plenty of interactive events like the SS and the tournament. All around, just a go-to example of what makes our community here so great.

Best Character - I'll vote for...Magus! Giving us a good fight in that tournament, I hope he gets pretty far. He'll have to prove his mettle! He also gives us a good story, one that really more characters should be trying to do.
Best Writer - Mami you get my vote! Mami beat me in the tournament. Even if I hadn't posted late once she'd have beaten me on even grounds.
Most Helpful - I'll have to go with Kakashi. Minato won this last time didn't he? Kakashi helped me with my move. Though it isn't actually approved by Omni yet.

'Best' Character: Dust, The Dying Star. This was a no-brainer. No other character I have seen on this site has interested me, made me feel more weirded out, and made me want to see a little bit more of than this guy. Plus, his activation for his powers is kissing people. That ends the debate for me.
'Best' Writer: This is a tough one, but I think I'll go with Erza Scarlet. Now before anyone kills me, I will say that I chose her because of the detail of her posts and her willingness to tackle mature topics.
Most Helpful: Thaal Sinestro. Aside from having some nice characters as well as his overall tendency to help people, I can safely say that he is the sole reason I've improved as a writer and as a member on this site. He helped me wrap my head around some of the more confusing elements of this site, and I think my writing has improved thanks to his critque on several of my posts.

'Best’ Character – Ururu Kyuuei. While I was reading all of her activity in preparation for the Colosseum, I was impressed by the humanity of this character.
‘Best’ Writer – Sinestro, as usual. Particularly with the BWNN. Excellent pacing, lots of intrigue, and a perfected sense of chaos. I also love very messy fight scenes and he does well with that.
Most Helpful – Adam Gaite has really been a top notch Angel this past month. He is humorous, but unafraid to he an enforcer when necessaery. In addition, he's usually pretty timely.
Rising Star – Ururu/Tom. Umitigated enthusiasm for having an effect on the Omniverse. Also very reasonable and intelligent. Solid writing.
'Best' Solo Storyline – Honestly my own Phantom Chasing Phantoms is something I'm rather proud of. Getting Itachi into the Omnivers and getting to write a few horror segments made it a very enjoyable write.
'Best' Pair or Group Storlyine - The Road to New Babylon has developed in to a magnificent clusterfuck that is equally entertaining as it is frantic. It's not even finished yet, either.
Favorite NPC - Probably Molly. I honestly haven't read too much of her, but the snippets that I do get make her the kind of confident little girl pistol I hope my daughter turns out to be.
Purple Ribbon - She's only been back a few days and chat is already three times more fun. I'm voting for Erza, based on the fact that she seemlessly adapts to any chat situation and has the best links.

Don't exactly have a wide enough perspective but for some reason I feel compelled to do this. So might as well. I expect this is colored significantly by my interactions but we are human right?
‘Best’ Character – I've been bouncing between two character on this one, but I'd have to say Desco fall into it. Cheerful character, well developed in some respects but also captures the emotion of the what she's going after.
‘Best’ Writer – Nealaphh/Kopaka. Seriously this guy can write circles around most any of us and I hardly see any errors if at all. The fact that he can make sense of an utterly inhuman character and make him likable is quite the skill.
Most Helpful – Minato, he dives feet over head into characters. Especially mine and puts up and makes a lot of headway throughout what can a mired process. Coming from a former registry staff member, its not an easy thing and while it can color interactions he really does persevere in the face of the more obstinate members.
Purple Ribbon - Kakashi, I almost put him down for Most Helpful, seriously the dude is always in top form and always a pleasant chat when we have matching time tables. The amount of work he gets done in Typos alone should make him a shoe in for this atleast.

‘Best’ Character – Sinestro’s BWNN. Like, that character is just too rad for me to handle. Everything I’ve read that involves this character is 1000% cool, and she’s just such an awesome, interesting character.
‘Best’ Writer – Gosh, this one’s going to be difficult…. I’ve got several people I could put for this but I’m going to have to say Ururu Kyuuei/Tom Riddle. Even if I don’t always understand what’s going on in their posts with the complicated moves and such, everything else is stellar. Honestly, Ururu’s got some serious skillz.
Rising Star – Stephan Donnel! This person has everything: good writing, interesting character, good writing mojo going for them... honestly, I just think Captain Donnel's pretty swell, over all! Participation in The Path to New Babylon was fun to read and I'm pretty sure that at least one or three things per post made me laugh outright. I feel like Donnel can really bring a lot to the Omniverse story-wise, whether that be on a large or small scale.
'Best' Solo Storyline – Nealaphh’s Phantom Chasing Phantoms was awesome. Like, I’m not sure how to describe how utterly amazing this was to read. It was also pretty gritty in some parts, with some excellent and believable character interaction. 15/10.
'Best' Pair or Group Storlyine - The Golden Star. Literally everyone who participated in that writes really, really well. Also, I enjoyed seeing how (almost) all of the characters eventually came together for the commotion in town. Sinestro finally getting his ring was just really well-written, too.
Favorite NPC - Adam Gaite's Erik Whitman. A super interesting character who also happens to be Adam's paradox clone uncle. Yeah. Basically, I'm very excited to write Jade interacting with this character some more.
Purple Ribbon – Alexyana/Aeris. I feel like a lot of the stuff she does is super cool but I’m not always around to see it. What’s going on with Shardworld is neat, and I’d really like to see most of Alexyana’s ideas reach fruition. Also, she’s nice to almost everyone, so there’s that!

This has been a hard one for me to nail down, and it mainly comes down to the fact that ALl the new staff people are really impressing me with their effort and dedication. I think he's really going for it, and even when his time and attention is worn thin, he is willign to pick up more.

‘Best’ Character – Personally, I've been enjoying Demetri Mallius' entire attitude and participation in The Path to New Babylon. His character is pretty entertaining to read, and I feel like he has a good dynamic. His character really makes me want to know more about...his character.
‘Best’ Writer – Nealaphh has always been a fun read man, I love the way he weaves a story. Never a boring post. Dude literally made me miss the due date for a biology homework assignment. Had to catch up on the Phantoms thread.
Most Helpful – GAH I was so torn on this one between Adam and Kakashi Sensei. I'll come back with a decision.
Rising Star – Eugh, I havent been paying attention to new arrivals, Im sorry! I'll have to come back to this one after some investigation.
'Best' Solo Storyline – S'a tough one here. Nealaphh's Phantoms chasing Phantoms was 'phh'enomenal. Thoroughly enjoyed the lore and effort put into it. I would've given up It takes a lot of determination to write solo threads,
and even more to write spectacular ones.
'Best' Pair or Group Storlyine - Path to New Babylon has just been filled with great moments. Some made me laugh, some made me cringe. There is also a considerable amount of talent crammed in there. Good blood.
Favorite NPC - Adam Gaite's Erik Whitman. The first time I learned of him, I used him for an interesting dataverse post and astonishingly, it would seem that from there he has developed a sort of infamy about him. He has been popping up, ghosting through the Omniverse. Can't wait to see the shenanigans develop.
Purple Ribbon - Alexyana! She's always super nice and cheerful and man just the cbox is never boring when she's around. Plus, Omniverse Drinking Game! Not to mention the flavor and style her writing brings to the site~ I just enjoy having her here and feel as though she deserves some recognition.

Best Character - Gamzee Makara, this dude plays his character very well. He finds the right mix of comedy and seriousness that makes his character very enjoyable. Comedy is one of the hardest thing to write well and he does a great job at it. Mad props yo.
Best Writer - Okor, maaaaaan he can write some damn sexy descriptions. His vocabulary is rich and he does a great job at flourishing it in his writing. This guy is a monster when it comes to setting scene and describing things. Mad props yo.
Most Helpful - Adam Gaite, dude is working hard as fuck at being staff. Gotta give mad props where they are due yo.
Best Solo Storyline - Into Dante's Inferno by Doomguy, we already know this guy is a badass and this thread is an enjoyable read. One of the few first person writers on the site and I gotta say Doomguy does a great job. Mad props yo.
Best Group Storyline - Frozen Faygo Flyer (Acrobatic Fucking Pirouette, Take 2) Gamzee Makara and Jade Harley yo, this was a great read and I suggest you all to go check it out. The characters play off each other so well and the humour is very well done. Keep up the great work you two, and mad props yo.
Favorite NPC - This one was hard, what with all the fun NPCs cropping up in the Omniverse. I gotta cast my vote for Gamzee's Karkat, he plays as a great foil for the other characters that he interacts with. Solid NPC, good stuff, props are mad yo.
Purple Ribbon - Thaal Sinestro, dude's got interesting character and a great writing style. Not only is he damn active with both his characters he's doing big things with them, AND he's doing a solid job at staffing. Keep up the good work and have some complimentary mad props yo.
