What if I don't want a separate faction? - Trixie - 10-30-2015 So I see everyone in Factions and I'm sitting here just wanting to be an Empire Soldier when I get out of the Underverse. So beyond the recognition and Imperial quests I can do, am I allowed to establish a section of the Imperial Military as my "Faction" only when I'm favored enough with the Empire? Could I make my faction an official Special Forces division at a later date so when a faction like LAW or New Babylon does something I can engage with my Faction, but I'm really just the Empire sending forces to deal with it. Forces that consist of Prime Members and maybe fodder secondaries. This wouldn't be simple. I'd be willing to prove Trixie's worth to every NPC who works for the Empire so that she becomes known and the Emperor knows her name. So that if she needed help from the Empire they'd be invested in seeing to her survival. Is this possible on any level? Thanks. Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Proto Man - 10-31-2015 I mean, in this example, your own faction could be like, a platoon you control that operates within a wing of the Imperial army? You could have Trixie enlist when she returns, and after working her way up, she's granted a comission and a little freedom to recruit into her platoon. Is that something like what you'd like to see? That could work. Considering she was a Captain before, if she re-enlists because of my story-line creating friction with her and the Empire it would make sense for her to start out as an Ensign again. How would I work my way up though, beyond the reputation quests provided in the Coruscant thread? Could I just keep requesting faction quests for the Empire in the Request a Story thread? I'd eventually like to see Trixie meeting the Emperor, even if it is just for a minute or two. Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Proto Man - 10-31-2015 Keep doing storylines that revolve around serving the Empire and bringing low her adversaries. Make Trixie someone that people in Coruscant respect. If you want, I can create some 'quests' for you, if that will make it feel official for you. I did that for Minato/Edward over in Camelot. And meeting the Empire is obviously a possibility, but it'd take some work. If Trixie and Nova were re-enlisted into the Special Forces would I be able to make my quests revolve around them responding to missions given out by high command? Until such a time as they are promoted? How could I handle promotion? I'll take your offer on quest creation for like the first one. I just need to know what kind of things I can do as a mission. What sort of trouble I'm allowed to create officially for the Empire that they'd send me to solve. Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Proto Man - 10-31-2015 I think receiving a full-on comission in the Imperial Army, with all the red tape and so forth, would tie in with the Recognition bonus? That makes this a long-term goal of yours, which you should be okay with (I imagine). Missions could be varied. They could send you to investigate things abroad. They might have you do clean-up work on lower tiers or in the Dataverse. They might send you to other verses to rough up people who oppose the Empire? The clay here is very malleable. Hell, they could station you in the Nexus. Hell, they could station you in the Nexus. Full on commission and red tape is fine with me. Would make great down-time fodder in the form of mission debriefings and being chewed out by the brass for blowing shit up. (BECAUSE THIS IS VAD'S WIFE AFTER ALL) As for the variation of available missions, that's exactly what I like to hear. It's not going to be a problem to create quests for a Special Forces team. At least in the foreseeable future. How many recognition bonus' is one able to collect? I'm thinking each time I earn one it would count as a promotion. Not necessarily just one rank either. Depending on the difficulty it could be several ranks. Like straight from Ensign to Sergeant, but it would give the rank I achieve an official vibe and not just something I slapped on. Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Minato Namikaze - 10-31-2015 You could tie it into Edward's quest if you wanted, have them send Trixie to try and stop Edward from making it back to Camelot... Although I really want to finish this quest xD and I bet you wouldn't want to lose either xD But I wouldn't Mind either way, it'd spice things up. You'll be done with your quest on Edward and Minato will be Hokage before I'm out of the Underverse. You're right though. I'd rather not lose, but at this point having experienced being banished? DYING AND NOT BEING ABLE TO POST FOR 3 OOC DAYS IS A BLOODY CAKE WALK! Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Proto Man - 10-31-2015 For OOC purposes, there's just one. <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://omniverse-rpg.com/influence.php#Recognition">influence.php#Recognition</a><!-- l --> It took me a few months and about 3 long, solid threads as Shang Tsung to earn Recognition. I'd check out 'Hunger Games,' 'The Exemplar,' and 'In Blackest Night.' I don't think it's out of your reach, since you can usually run with a ball once you have it. As for your IC ranks, I think that's something that can flow organically. Start off as an enlisted soldier with the faction quest and then work your way up from there. Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Minato Namikaze - 10-31-2015 Ahaha that's fair Trixie, I was just giving you an Option to get you started :3 Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Trixie - 10-31-2015 Proto Man Wrote:For OOC purposes, there's just one. <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://omniverse-rpg.com/influence.php#Recognition">influence.php#Recognition</a><!-- l --> Aye. I'm with you. It's finding the god damn ball that's the issue right now. The Underverse is all fucking Frisbee's and no balls! I can work it organically. Starting as an Ensign would be fine. Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Trixie - 10-31-2015 Minato Namikaze Wrote:Ahaha that's fair Trixie, I was just giving you an Option to get you started :3 You have NO IDEA how badly I would love to just hop out and come try to stop you. Losing or being disgraced to the Empire to start doesn't even fucking phase me. I just want out of the Underverse. Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Trixie - 11-02-2015 Considering how my current story arc is going to have some minor skirmishes with Empire officials is it possible to meet with a high ranking member to start this whole thing off? Once Trixie gets out of the Underverse she'll be meeting up with Nova and in my story that will involve killing a Colonel in the Imperial Military. Specifically the one running the outfit Trixie and Nova are part of. Could I have someone be like "What the fuck is going you guys?" Letting them explain their case and while they had cause it will get them demoted and forced to re enlist. Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Trixie - 11-08-2015 So would this be possible if Trixie were to keep the base low profile from her job? Re: What if I don't want a separate faction? - Dark Link - 11-12-2015 Trixie Wrote:So would this be possible if Trixie were to keep the base low profile from her job? That's a pretty cool idea. Also, those are some amazing pictures. Good work. As for whether your idea would be possible....I'm going to give a tentative yes. However, needless to say, it's going to require a fair bit of IC legwork on your part. You essentially wish to build and maintain a relatively large (underground) complex in the middle of a city controlled by an Orwellian authoritarian state that would provide shelter for individuals that the government considers 'undesirable'. Not only is that going to require that you have a decent amount of power and influence within the Empire, you'll also probably have to engage in a fair bit of bribing and coercion (and perhaps even 'eliminate' an individual or two) in order to make it possible in the first place. And even once you've set all that up, there would still be a limit as to who you could harbour without jeopardising yourself and your entire operation. But yeah, with enough work and discretion, I think it would be possible to pull off. Staff could even provide you with some support via the Storyteller account in cases where you wouldn't know how to proceed forward in order to realise your idea. |
