Zalgo [PANDATRON alternate character] - Zalgo - 10-28-2015

Character history:

Zalgo is a being that could best be described as a "horror," a creature of utmost terror. He is known as "He Who Waits Behind the Wall" and the "Nezperdian Hivemind" in some circles. In this encarnation, he is akin to an eldritch abomination, some kind of psychopathic, hearthless beast with ambiguous intent.

This "Zalgo" came from his own "verse", as a parallel world to modern day internet, he slowly grew and became born alongside the internet meme. As the meme became popular and more widespread, so did his influence and power over his own "verse", eventually becoming the beast that he is today. Zalgo, as the being that he is, is quite detatched from the concepts of "personality", "intent", "purpose", etc. He just is, like a force of nature, designed to instill fear and ultimately, death to those that cross him. For no reason at all - Zalgo is ultimately vain and nihilistic. Things are just ruined and killed in his presence.

Suddenly, for some reason, this monster was pulled out of his "internet" verse, and cast to the Nexus. Not like "it" cared too much. It can't care. It just creeps. And destroys.

Physical Description: Extremely variable (amorphous shapeshifter), though most commonly associated with empty eye sockets and s̴̡̗͍̘̪̪̠̠̮͇̭̙͇͎̥͎͜ͅͅc̨͏̣̱̗r̸̸̶̛̻̟͔̞͚ͅa̴̶͈̭̺̯̪̤̱̬̤͚m̸̴̵̮͈̠̥̪̞͖͈͔̺b̡̨̳̙̫̞̤͓̣̭̳̦͍̭͍̗͈͕̞͝ĺ̩̱̪̖̳͙̞̞̭͈̼̠͙͔̀͞ͅȩ̧̯̼̤̱̞̫͔̀͘͞d̨̧̯̳̥̬͕̲̬̳̕͠ ̢̨̖͚͎̮̰̕ͅt̡̮̞̟̻̠̠͈̗̦̖̪͚̪̜̝̥͞ͅe̴͟͝҉͏̪͚̮̮x̶̷͟҉͙͙̘̺͍̹̰͉̳͚̝̬̞ţ̴̧̩̞̙̦̣̘̮͎̣̺̥̰̤͇͘͟.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to reject your application, at least as it currently stands. If you recall, the 'HOW TO JOIN' thread states the following:

Now, I understand that this character isn't meant to literally be the real, historical Adolf Hitler. But if I'm entirely frank, the way she is currently set up, she essentially IS Hitler in everything but sex/gender and almost comes off as an attempt to bypass the aforementioned rule.

We don't inherently prevent people from joining as racist characters or even as literal Nazi characters (though the note you quoted regarding potentially offensive material applies). But even if this character concept isn't the exact same as the actual person in question, the similarity is still far too uncanny. So I'm going to have to request that you modify your application and further differentiate your character.

Largely because the previous name was throwing me off. x.x

I don't see her as being a bypass. Of course she is similar, Hitler is her role model, but as for personality and background, she is entirely different from the Führer. Most notably, she would lack the charisma and, well, genius to melt into absolute power through politics and guile to then organize a nation against the world. She is an entirely different person - as a core difference, she is a follower (hence the zealotry), not a leader.

I still insist in my character's name in being "Hitler". Modern Neo-nazis rename themselves to it, and for all regards and purposes, it's simply a name, as offensive as it may be. Similarly, the name "Maria" comes from honoring Holy Mary from the Bible. I believe I shouldn't be able to name her "Maria", then, no? Holy Mary is a religious figure. If Hitler is prohibited because it stems from a historic/religious figure, then Maria should be prohibited as well for the same reason. "David", "Adam", "Eve", "Jesús", and a lot of other names that originate from honoring religious figures should be prohibited as well, if that argument based on historic/religious figures holds.

Unless, of course, names that comes from positive connotations are allowed, and not those which have heavy negative connotations. Like Satan, for example (i.e the DBZ character, named after an important religious archenemy).

Imagine we had an "Omniverse" in roman age Gallius - France. Land of barbarians. They hated the Romans. Would it be fair *there* to prohibit the use of the name "Julius"? Or Roman characters, played as villains, named after important Caesars? I think not, for the sake of impartiality and the exploration of narrative possibilities.

Hitler (formerly Maria Strauss) calling herself Hitler is similar to "Kira" (Misa Amane) calling herself "Kira", from the series "Death Note". But taken to an extreme.

I appreciate the concern, but I believe that the decision can be reconsidered. Please change my account's name back. It is not accurate.

I have donated, with my former character (now deleted, for some reason) "Do-domori". I even sent Omni a private message about it back in the day. If necessary, I can send a receipt of the Paypal transaction to an administrator (via private message) upon request.

If you don't understand how the name could generate hate, offense, and animosity for our members or potential members, then I don't know what else to say to you. The name is in bad taste and as far as I am aware, we won't ever allow it.

We'd have a problem with someone using a historical criminal rapist name and/or memories as well. What if family members of the victims showed up on the Omniverse and wanted to join? Do you think they would still want to after seeing that name on the boards? No. We won't ever go down this path. Sorry, but you will have to go back to the drawing board.

This is some fuckery, but after the recent rule changes and seeing how the thematic text of this character interferes with the system in incompatible way (and quoting all day will grant OM reduction on my efforts so no matter what I do, I end up losing *something*), I'm going to rethink my alt. Please don't approve this yet, I'm going to go for something else. I'm a bit on a roll here lol. Make Hitler=>No Hitlers allowed. Make Zalgo =>No Zalgo text allowed. But its OK, I'll work things out.
